Clearly Buster should be #1. Many of the clips you showed (like bond leaping from one crane to another) were actually stunt doubles whereas Keaton had no one. Chad Stahelski and many other stunt legends credit Buster as THE craziest. Many were so dangerous that one mistake meant death.
Tom Cruise does incredible stunts and is a true artist to his craft. Same with Keanu Reeves dedicating himself to the visions he sees in his head, that he puts on screen. Donnie Yen is also one of the bests. Just nobody will ever surpass Jackie. He’s broken damn near every bone in his head, has a metal plate in his skull. Holds the Guinness Book of World Records for most stunts done by a human. He’s a legend that paved the way for many before him and during the same time. But from that, give a lot of thanks to Buster Keaton and Harold Lloyd. They inspired Jackie. It’s just beautiful to think how all these guys have an affect on each other and make their stunts and action, their own!
My top 5: 1. Keanu Reeves 2. Harrison Ford 3. Arnold Schwarzenegger 4. Hugh Jackman 5. Tom Holland My honorable mentions: Jackie Chan, Michelle Yeoh, Sylvester Stallone, Daniel Craig, Angelina Jolie
Tom cruise is my favorite actor and this is one of the reasons why he puts his blood sweat and tears into every stunt he does his dedication to the craft and to his films are amazing
Such a awesome list!😁 Mat,Angelina,Harrison,.Sylvester,of course Tom. Amazing movies and actors. All of them. Jackie is awesome :D Love his movies. Action,or comedy. I agree. His stunts are legendary. His injuries are epic too. Great list! :D
Arnold Schwarzenegger's primary stunt double has always been Peter Kent. He's roughly the same height, has a similar build, and a somewhat similar face and head. He played the guy in Twins that Schwarzenegger first mistook for his twin, because they almost could be twins. In the Terminator 2 motorcycle jump scene, they didn't even bother to hide his face, because from any distance further than a closeup, they don't need to.
@@freddiemercury2075 We could all see that it's not Arnold, if we notice it and look again to make sure. But it's close enough that they didn't bother to hide it. And the "mistake" probably helped Mr. Kent, professionally, so why not give the dude a cameo, he earned it.
@@BlackHatCinephile agreed. Mr Kent earned it. And I think it's sweet from the big man Jason Statham who proposed that stuntman should be nominated for major awards.

Just by the title I knew Tom Cruise was gonna be in the video Thank Christ the first thing that appeared in the video was a Mission Impossible Fallout clip
A great honourable mention would have to be Bruce Lee. Much like Jet Li years later, Bruce Lee had to be asked several times to slow down with his martial arts just so the cameras could pick up what he was doing.
Nice 👍. Bruce Lee is up there among the greats. A super martial artist. But I believe he wasn't mentioned because he often didn't do his own stunts. I see a lot of stunt doubles in the course of his movies.

We're gonna have to agree to disagree on this one. While I'm a fan of both, you'll have to keep in mind Tom Cruise wasn't really considered an action star till maybe early 2000s with the Mission Impossible franchise, while Jackie has been doing this since the early 80s. While it's arguable which stunt is more death defying, (Armour of God where he had to jump onto an air balloon with nothing but a parachute) I can say with certainty who was in better hands in terms of safety and preparedness. Tom had the best stunt/ safety coordinators with US / Hollywood's safety standards where everything is checked checked and checked again. While Jackie had a bunch of rag tag "stunt coordinators" pulling him around in wires. There's a reason why he nearly broken every bone in his body. Anyway, just my 2 cent. :)
I agree with your list, altho I might have put Buster Keaton as #1, bc he started it all. Some favorite guys of mine that you missed are: Harold Lloyd, James Garner, Paul Newman, and Clint Eastwood. Thanx muchly for sharing!
I don't want to hate on Arnold but you can count the times in each movie where there's a stunt double. Predator, The Running Man, Last Action Hero, Total Recall & Terminator 2. He did jump from the small pickup truck bed to the semi in T2 then a stunt double was used to grab the wheel and flip it. He's still a badass though.
"Statham's respect for stunt work is such that he believe stunt doubles and teams should be eligible for academy awards." You're goddamn right they should be.
Harrison Ford severely injured his back in the palace fight choreography for "The Temple of Doom". It occurred during the stunt were he's being strangled from behind and bent to throw the antagonist off. A good potion of some scenes were filmed with his stunt double Vic Armstrong because they favored each other in appearance.
Lots of actors now can do their own stunts.. like Dylan O'Brien he was almost died in maze runner. Margot Robbie, Chloe Grace Moretz, Gal Gadot, Chris Evans, Adam Driver, Millie Bobby Brown, Ryan Reynolds, Ryan Gosling.
Jackie Chan had a dedicated stuntman team, handling his stunts if he doesn't do the stunts himself. Robin Padilla doesn't use doubles for his stunts. He was once injured when an explosion tore near his arm, scarring it. But still doesn't use doubles when doing his stunts.
Tom always thinking of how to break his own record and to entertain his audiences, earth may be not enough for him, his next mission may be going to the space after IM 8...

How did scott adkins not make this list? I cant argue and say none of these otheir terrific performers dont deserve to be on this list cause they do, but scott adkins has been in the business for almost 20 years or more and he literally does all if not most of his own stunts.

jason statham, keanu reeves and tom cruise
There's no Jean Claude
