Met a lady like the representative in this video at Halibrand in Wellington , Kansas about 25 years ago when we went to Halibrand to buy a Set of wheels that had to be machined to fit a 1933 Ford 4-door sedan street rod with a Corvette rearend . The lady was so impressive and really knew her stuff . Halibrand had their wheels in a cage and ready to machine the back spacing and bolt pattern once they had an order . The lady gave us a tour of the facility and we got to see the molds made of wood that dated way back to the early years of Indy Race Cars . Awesome facility and everyone was so nice , friendly and helpful . They jacked the 33 sedan up and measured for correct back spacing and machined the wheels and they were delivered and were on our front porch a few hours before we got back home as we spent a few days touring a couple of places in Colorado . BTW Allison transmissions are some great transmissions all the way from medium duty to the really heavy duty ones in machinery I've worked on .

34:00 Cummins motor plate, there are 3 rotory VE (non-lockup), p-pump (lockup), and common rail. KC an extremely valuable upgrade I would recommend to the motor plate. Add the barring hole. The barring tool is used quite frequently in different maintenance procedures I have found it extremely annoying and precarious turning the motor over two teeth at a time with a flathead screwdriver wedged into the bellhousing.
David, good food for thought, we would need to modify the plate and -produce a tool to turn the motor, we will look into this in 2020 `The concern from the manufacturing standpoint, is the tool may run upwards of $100.00...would customers spend that on a tool rarely used? Dave made a barring tool out of an old broken 6.0 starter ! He took the end of the starter off, removed the bendix, used the end of the starter with the bendix, welded an old socket to it to create a barring tool.
@@kchemry7123 why do you need to complicate it with $100 tool Cummins makes a borrowing tool for about 20 bucks all you got to do is make the holes the same size and it will work with the standard tool stop this custom $100 tool talk s*** right now you greedy bastard
The extra gears behind a 7.3 is appealing, but aftermarket tuning has taken care of the dropping into neutral issue by re-programming for constant lockup which drops transmission temps 30-40 degrees during operation as well as modified shift points to stay in the powerband longer.
So happy that you did an additional and more thorough interview with this company. I'm looking forward to having this setup installed in my 2003 F350 6.0 powerstroke. Thanks Again, Big Fan of your channel!! 🤠👏🙏🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Love to see some truck people building a few restomod medium duty wrecker or tow trucks using some of those combinations, trucks like the late 60's early 70's C50/C60 chevy's or Ford's F600/F700 trucks
Got some talented engineers at CAconversion; this is what counts. Too many phony and unqualified engineers out there even when possessing a "degree". A real engineer, mechanic, artist is born and then when coupled with advanced training they become truly productive.
I like this explanation better than any i have heard to date. I went to the CA website and its terrible for someone who wants to purchase this conversion. What do I need to do to figure out how much this will cost me on a 2017 ram 2500 6.7?
Good information. I am amazed on how much information she knows and she is a good seller, I have to ask do this transmissions would work in a 2000 excursion with a 6.8L v10 2wd if you have any information it would be appreciated
As far as the 2020 GM trucks, Allison has to be very protective of their name and reputation. If they've helped GM with validation and are willing to let their name be on it, that's good enough for me.
From what I understand, the 10 speed Allison in the 2020 trucks was co-designed with Allison. GM is building it in house themselves. Does that make it not a "real" or "true" Allison? That's up to you I suppose. But you should consider this lady is basically a salesperson hawking her company's wares at a trade show, so it certainly isn't in her best (or her company's) interest to put any of their competitors in a good light. They want to sell you transmission conversions. I personally wouldn't hesitate to buy a new 2020 GM with the 10 speed "Allison" in it myself.
Randpage It was do-developed with Ford not Allison. Allison ran the finished product through a GM spec'd testing regime but did nothing that would warrant it being called an Allison product. BTW the A1000 6spd wasn't built by Allison either.
@@rodneytatman449 you're referring to the light duty 10 speed. The Allison 10 speed and the light duty 10 speed are not the same transmission. The only thing they have in common is 10 forward speeds.
Excellent interview. Interesting side note is that on the Cummins, the "adapter" is not really an adapter, but simply a different rear plate for the block. You remove the existing RAM plate, and install the CAC plate in its place. Or install a SAE 2 or 3 plate/bellhousing instead. The mounting flange for the Cummins is a separate part from the block, unlike every other motor out there. This eliminates the extra length/thickness of adapters and associated starter and flex plate spacers needed to make things fit.
"Flywheel housing" I believe is the actual term. The way I understand it the 7.3 doesn't use one in the Ford application, however, it does in navistar applications. Haven't been under a 7.3 in that area myself yet.
Great Video, Good Info, Audio Quality is Poor and Needs Work. Otherwise I am Sold on The Allison, Only Question is Can it be Adapted to an 01 Dodge 5.9 Gas Engine 4X4 for Better towing Capacity?

WOW!!! Very cool...I have a 1995 f250 4x4 7.3 and just bought it with 386,600 miles..and really not sure if i want to keep it...Body good but tired trans and motor....But want to keep and now put an Allison in...Want to 5.9 cummins but not sure if all thats worth it.....
Class A and I’ve done class 6-8 truck and equipment repair my whole career. Ironically Cummins. Warranty repair and field service is my life. I REFUSE to own or drive one. My service truck is a 550 Cat and an Eaton 18 speed. I’ve also been happy with the DT466 on the medium duty side, and Detroit has always had much love, I just haven’t run many cause I don’t like Freightliners and that’s where I see them most.
If it is a true Allison I am sure we can get it sorted out, unlike the current name only 10 speed they call an Allison that is just an over glorified GM trans

David, good food for thought, we would need to modify the plate and -produce a tool to turn the motor, we will look into this in 2020
`The concern from the manufacturing standpoint, is the tool may run upwards of $100.00...would customers spend that on a tool rarely used? Dave made a barring tool out of an old broken 6.0 starter ! He took the end of the starter off, removed the bendix, used the end of the starter with the bendix, welded an old socket to it to create a barring tool.
Socket on the crank bolt is usually much more convenient. Just don't turn it backward.
@@kchemry7123 why do you need to complicate it with $100 tool Cummins makes a borrowing tool for about 20 bucks all you got to do is make the holes the same size and it will work with the standard tool stop this custom $100 tool talk s*** right now you greedy bastard
This lady is very intelligent. She would be a joy to talk with and could learn A Lot.
The extra gears behind a 7.3 is appealing, but aftermarket tuning has taken care of the dropping into neutral issue by re-programming for constant lockup which drops transmission temps 30-40 degrees during operation as well as modified shift points to stay in the powerband longer.
Great video, tons of good information on Allison Trans hands down the BEST. Kudos to both gals...
Thanks
So happy that you did an additional and more thorough interview with this company. I'm looking forward to having this setup installed in my 2003 F350 6.0 powerstroke.
Thanks Again,
Big Fan of your channel!! 🤠👏🙏🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Thanks and you're welcome
Marc Lussier I’ve got a 2007 6.0, but I wonder if the tow-haul mode would work with this install?
I just found this and I am seriously going to look into these for my 98.5 24v 2500
FYI the 7.3, 6.0 and 6.4 are Navistar engines. The 6.7 is designed and built by Ford
This Gal knows what she is talking about! Great information!! I had no idea that the 1000 and 2000 series were that similar, thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
At the 20ish min mark talking about the transmission not actually being what the manufacturer claims, Im glad I heard that because going forward - we wont be using them.
Thats some super slick shit there!
You need to get Kelsey this for her truck so she can do a review of it in usage.
great idea, we talked about it! Would love to see her review after some miles on the conversions.
This lady gets me all Pumped up to do Conversions, nothing more exciting!
They are both surprisingly knowledgeable in the details!
Wow they came a long way.... they did my 2012 ram 3500 about 6 years ago and about 150k miles later towing 25k loads daily.
SOOOO glad to hear you are still happy. It is customers like you that make it all worth while! Happy Holidays
That was a long interview so I watched at 2x speed. Let me say that at that speed KC REALLY knows what she's talking about. Impressive!
Yes she is
Now that’s what I call a REAL info babe! Seriously, have always wanted to transition to diesel but with no manuals being produces and the track records of the non Allison autos, who wants to take the chance?
Gonna get this for my 15 lml/Allison for original Allison programmjng....full delete and fleece performance drop in lift pump, cP3 conversion and optimized stock
Sounds good
Now there a girl that now what she is talking about
Amen
Very hard to find a girl that knows what's she's talking about
Love to see some truck people building a few restomod medium duty wrecker or tow trucks using some of those combinations, trucks like the late 60's early 70's C50/C60 chevy's or Ford's F600/F700 trucks
Got some talented engineers at CAconversion; this is what counts. Too many phony and unqualified engineers out there even when possessing a "degree". A real engineer, mechanic, artist is born and then when coupled with advanced training they become truly productive.
Excelente
Her knowledge of Allison transmissions is impressive.
She works for them
Love that she knows so much. I'm just waiting to try the new 10 speed
That’s not an Allison that is a gm transmission
She should know this information just like anyone else who loves doing this for so long, she is indeed awesome.
Side note: love the fact that she has matching Allison Yellow nail polish 😁👍🏻
This lady was very entertaining to listen too. I love her shit talking 😂
True
I am very impressed. This lady knows her shit. Hands down.
Very very informative video. Probably gonna watch again to get all the info in my thick head.
As far as the 2020 GM trucks, Allison has to be very protective of their name and reputation. If they've helped GM with validation and are willing to let their name be on it, that's good enough for me.
I have 12k on my 20 now and so far it is very smooth. Towing heavy or unloaded
Your new truck is working well? Shouldn't it?
From what I understand, the 10 speed Allison in the 2020 trucks was co-designed with Allison. GM is building it in house themselves. Does that make it not a "real" or "true" Allison? That's up to you I suppose. But you should consider this lady is basically a salesperson hawking her company's wares at a trade show, so it certainly isn't in her best (or her company's) interest to put any of their competitors in a good light. They want to sell you transmission conversions. I personally wouldn't hesitate to buy a new 2020 GM with the 10 speed "Allison" in it myself.
Randpage
It was do-developed with Ford not Allison.
That's great news. Allison makes sense to put them in all trucks.
We completely agree!
Kool , Destroked .com has been doing this swap for a long time now. They also have the trans controller and plenty of adapters .
Thanks
"Flywheel housing" I believe is the actual term. The way I understand it the 7.3 doesn't use one in the Ford application, however, it does in navistar applications. Haven't been under a 7.3 in that area myself yet.
Ladies and gentlemen we have been thoroughly educated!!!!!! LOVE IT!!!!!
great
Thank you we sure try our best.
Wow I'm totally amazed by her knowledge and how bad ass an Allison trans is!
I've been watching stuff on Allison's for a year. Now you to flex me watch it. You are a double-edged sword TH-cam.
This was interesting. I've often said if I could mix an match a Dodge Chev an Ford truck I could actually have a perfect truck.
Dodge/cummins,gm/Allison and a ford radio?😎sorry couldn't help it😅
Great Video, Good Info, Audio Quality is Poor and Needs Work. Otherwise I am Sold on The Allison, Only Question is Can it be Adapted to an 01 Dodge 5.9 Gas Engine 4X4 for Better towing Capacity?
Thanks
This Woman is awesome! I have heard of these kits, but now I know everything! Definitely will consider this company in the future! Hope they are paying her well!
ill be damned if im not completely impressed with her knowledge. your doing gods work out there with these allisons.
I could not help to notice in minute 39:48, behind the women on the wall, the word Allison is misspelled, "Allion", lol. Great video by the way, Allison all the way.
Thanks for that!
That's why they came out with the Torqshifts 5R110
As a customer CAC is truly good at what they do.
thanks, Dave
As a CDL holder, I would like to take issue with a statement that was made.
Not everyone loves a Cummins.
Not me, that's for sure.
Let me guess you are a cat man
I'd keep my DD until CAT comes back with a class 8 motor
Class A and I’ve done class 6-8 truck and equipment repair my whole career. Ironically Cummins. Warranty repair and field service is my life.
I REFUSE to own or drive one.
My service truck is a 550 Cat and an Eaton 18 speed. I’ve also been happy with the DT466 on the medium duty side, and Detroit has always had much love, I just haven’t run many cause I don’t like Freightliners and that’s where I see them most.
I wonder if they'll be able to retrofit the 9 speed allison when it comes out?
If it is a true Allison I am sure we can get it sorted out, unlike the current name only 10 speed they call an Allison that is just an over glorified GM trans
