- In the original Dragon’s Dogma, magick archer was one of the most broken vocations in the game. And while DD2 slightly nerfed this class by taking away their off-hand daggers, I’m happy to report that magick archer is still incredibly cracked.
In this video, I’m going to show you how to build your magick archer for insane damage. We’ll go over the best abilities, augments and gear you need to bring this build together. I’ll also show you how to unlock magick archer - in case you haven’t found it yet. With this build you’ll be tearing through all manner of dragons, griffins and more with ease and style.

If you use flame fang arrow and sheath your weapon while the arrow is flying you can cancel your control over it, but it still flys. So you can shoot 3 shots of massive damage before your target even knows you are there.
Damn good to know 😮
You can also just Weapon Skill activate Flamefang for the same effect with a slight aim assist.
One thing about Frosthunter Bolt is that the arrows ignore the game terrain and will go after those type of enemies like those ghost orbs that fly through buildings/ground/mountain/cave walls. This is nice while in cramp areas where normal arrows tend to spread and hit the terrain.

You forget, Arctic bolt does PHYSICAL damage, which is much needed on Magick Arher
The skill isnt worth it, does too little dmg and takes ages to Charge up all the way
@@lukx762Say that when you drop a glacier on some unsuspecting hobgoblin’s head.
I’ve taken out massive chunks of Drakes Hp bars with that skill, and actually get to smash the horns and get extra items from them (sucks DD2 doesn’t let you butcher the corpses)
It’s also awesome for stunning and knocking the enemy off balance, which is extremely satisfying :) (yes, the sleeping bolt is much more effective, but no where near as satisfying as smacking the big bastards with gigantic chunks of glacier)
@@lukx762 it’s good if you want to freeze and big monster or something. But yeah doesn’t do a ton of damage to them.

I'm a bit late to the party on this one, thanks for the video! Will it affect tough bosses too much if I don't get that final magic augment from sorcerer? I know it would be a great boost, but having to max out a vocation I don't particularly want to play is quite daunting lol
I usually use Candescent Orb at night as a flare to light up the area. Shoot it into the air and you can see what's around you, like bad guys or 100 foot drops.
To be fair with Frost Hunter, it's only good when not quick firing. With a lock on, it'll keep hitting the spot until its duration is over. If it had higher damage, the other abilities would be outclassed, considering that it'll repeatedly hit weak points
You can use recovery arrow as straight up healing without the pawns even being down.
I was really hoping they would have great sacrafice, one of the coolest abilities in the first game.
Blackwing bow is back in DD2 let's goooo.
Havent watched the video yet, but Ricochet Hunter still slaps and is all I need.
Slight kidding aside, I've mostly played Warfarer with the magick bow so primarily I use Sagittae Avalanche and Ricochet Hunter as my skills of choice. Its fun, definitely my most useful weapon on Warfarer

The smaller of the basic attacks feels much better than the big reticle you were using. I feel like it does plenty of damage for something that can lock on to weak points
Pinpoint is better for big enemies I think because you get more hits per attack than Rivot shot.
@@rickyh223wait? Pinpoint? Rivot shot? What are you guys talking about? Im just about to unlock the class but are there 2 types of normal attacks?
@@rogerayala6878yes pinpoint is a smaller circle reticle mainly used for 1 target and will hit multiple areas. Rivet shot has a wider reticle and can target multiple enemies but the damage is less. And it's just a toggle feature I believe u press the joystick in to switch between the 2 I can't remember tho
@@eddiejr999 It's the other way around Pinpoint volley is the wider reticle and multi target one: "Takes aim at multiple targets or multiple points on a target before firing with precision. Can be employed while moving.".
Best class next to thief imo, maxed out thief/magick arch, damn the damage is just OP
A thief with same stats does the same pretty much the same IMO. Helmsplitter 1 shots a griffin at times it can get ridiculous
I'm running into an issue where when I go to charge Martyrs Bolt it caps out and only takes about a 5th of my health before firing, not letting me drain most my health for a single shot
It’s probably your controls. I play on PS and I had to hold my R1 and my bind for martyrs bolt and that let me charge up fully. Hold down your “fire arrow” bind and your bind for martyrs bolt and that should fix it 👍
so what you do is run to camp drop port crystal then go back to old man give him herb flowers escourt/carry to his house then grab second escort quest go outside house use ferrycrystal will take him with you to camp. Much EASIER
I was escorting the Dwarf and was getting so annoyed. Started fighting a boss. The little shi kept running near him, full-on sprinting into the line of fire smh I had to keep picking him up and place him out of the way. Good thing my main pawn was healing a lot.
It isn't just sapping your HP, it straight up lowers the max HP until a rest. Unless there is another way to get back max HP

If using Martyr bolt, I don't think you really need a build. If you have it equiped, you are already doing massive damage with any build. I personally don't have it equipped 99% of the time as it's purely situational

you dont need to min max it in this game as stats by level 200 are basically all the same from what iv heard its very strong once you reach like vocation level 4 lol just get the meister skill and watch as high level dragons get deleted
Am sooooooo soon as we got to the door of the before entering, My pawns killed the old man which was very strange, I think it was a glitch in the game, But I still carried him to the Hot springs but was not able to finish because he was dead so his wife never came
revive him through one of the chapels, in Vermont or Bakbatahl. You can look for his coffin manually or pay 5k to the keeper to find the corpse faster, then ress with a Wakestone

How come I can't use the magic archer skill with the warfarer
Warfarer doesn’t let you use other vocations master skill
I lost the dwarf in like 30 seconds
the hp drain skill is the most op too bad it takes our health
Yeah, I find that as a load of massive bullshit. All the other master skills can be used endlessly, but that particular skill is only allowed once.
@@Noriniayou can manage to use it twice maybe... But I understand the reasoning, I mean... You can literally one shot anything in the game!, so I get the limitations, imagine being able to spam it? Absolutely nothing would stand a chance!
Where should i enchance dragons breath? Elven or dwarven?
Elven gives best magick stat increase.
I think dwarven bc magick archer can benefit from knockdown power imo. Arctic bolt can knock down large monsters
Unless you're in postgame you'll probably need to get Eldricite from a Pawn Quest (for Elven Enhance)
I'm not sure on this one. Elven is the obvious choice, but when maxed, Elven only gives 40 more magic than Dwarven, but Dwarven will have hundreds more knockdown.
Recovery arrow is the best healing skill in the game
why did they take knifes away though WHY

You can one shot tue final boss just take your health below 15 and it instakills him
You get punked up close so unless you can stay back which is impossible.
Herald's Helix Bow has more Magik damage than Dragon's Breath.
There’s actually better armor at the dig site, but it’s a dress 😂

The elven armor from sacred arbor is actually better than any ( for magic archer) from volcanic island
You forgot to mention dragons breath is definitely not the best magic Archer bow, it's actually Grianmhar

Reason why your basic attacks are weak is cause youre using pinpoint volley.
Rivet shot does alot more damage. Switch to that.
Is there a way to unlock Rivet? Idk if im missing something but i just switched to magic archer and cant find it

best ewapon is from ng+ unlocked when u get into true endgame by stabbing urself

You say the dragon's breath is the best magick archer bow in the game ahh no it isn't the best magick archer bow which is the darkwing bow from the first game which in the second one should have an even higher starting damage i looked on a dd2 wiki page and it says to get this u have to be in endgame and u can buy it from one of the shops for 65.000 something and the darkwing bow in the first one i use in bitterblack isle
Best torso and leg armor for this class is in elf village. Better stats than the one at volcanic island.

I play magic archer(Atreus) with 1 pawn(kratos) i dont use the master skill. Just makes playing the game pointless
