    Use the siser white easyweed and the Clear Dye sub vinyl together ;) Extra steps involved but it will work if you want to sublimate on black cotton. Cut out the pattern on both the easyweed and the clear dye sub vinyl. Press the siser easyweed first, then the clear dye sub on top of that, and then sublimate on it.

      @@AngieHolden Yes 1000% the easysubli is the best I have used so far for sublimation on colored 100% cotton tees, no question about it. And I can confirm that using the clear dye sub vinyl on top of the white sister easyweed htv does work, I literally just made a shirt ... HOWEVER, I would not recommend (nor will I ever do it again) it due to the time it takes trying to get it all to line up perfectly due to the vinyl shrinking as we all know it does (whew that was a task) and also the color was very muted and gave almost a vintage look, which is cool but not what I like. I like my colors to POP!. So, I too will stick with easysubli :)

    Did you peel the paper from the dye sub hot or cool? I found that after pressing the dye sub it’s best to peel totally cool and you have to work the corner careful then u can peel up. But I have tried hot and cold peel after sublimation and it leaves streaks like there’s paper stuck to it. Hi Angie, I am so grateful for your videos as I am just learning all about sublimation. I have everything to begin, but am still so nervous and have not made anything just yet.
    I have 1 question from this video, what is the purpose of sublimating over HTV? I was under the impression sublimation lasts longer directly onto the fabric using Siser Easy Subli Sublimation Heat Transfer Vinyl? Is it for 100% colored cotton items to help the color come through more? Just trying to wrap my mind around this concept. For some reason, it isn't clicking for me. Also, I do not own a cricut, looks like I need one if I want to cut HTV to use for my sublimation items? Sorry so many questions, but I trust your input!

    • @AngieHolden
      @AngieHolden  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sublimation is for polyester items. For shirts, at least 65% polyester would be optimal. Also, you have to have a white or very light colored shirt for sublimation to work as it is see through. This process is a hack to get around those two things. You don't have to do this process at all if you use the polyester light colored shirts.

    For those, like me, who don't know what HTV means, it is Heat Transfer Vinyl. This is a vinyl layer bonded by heat to fabric, as opposed to a sublimation print that is transferred as dye onto fabric with the use of heat. This should give some context.
    The dye lasts much longer than the vinyl.
    In the dyed print, you will need a sublimation printer ($200 on Amazon for cheap one), special ink, and sub paper, all cheap.
    In the HTV vinyl print, you can use a regular printer, sublimation printer, any ink, and vinyl sheets instead of paper.
    I have never done any sublimation processes. Please correct me if I am wrong on these facts. This is my understanding.

    Ive looked through your channel, and maybe Im missing it... but do you have a video that specifically addresses Sublimation Sprays for Cotton? I love your videos and always very helpful. Would love to see you cover one on Sprays. I got "NGoodiez" spray , After getting no results, I've looked all over for confirmation that it works, but it just will not work for me. Even if I spray and set twice before pressing the design, absolutely no ink transfers over.

    • @AngieHolden

      Sublimation is transparent once applied. That means that surface colors shows through the sublimation. So on black HTV, you wouldn't see anything but black. So no it will not work.

    Thank you for your videos. I am new to Sublimation and my black is coming out green, brown or gold when I sublimate on HTV Siser glitter, any suggestions? I have an Epson 2720. Thank you in advance for any help you can give.

    • @AngieHolden
      @AngieHolden  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If it is green, you are not pressing enough so time/temperature/pressure is off. If it is brown, you are pressing too much. So my guess would be you need to find the right settings for what you are making.
