I love collecting Japanese but yes the risks are real and eventually you will have a problem. No easy answer- if you want these products sometimes better to pay premium from sellers in NAmerica at least your protected.
Yep avoid Buyee. Theres a good percentage of sellers who are actually legit. But i had the exact same issue. Awesome looking poncho pikachu card which turned out to be a fake. Nowhere says its a fake or rep card and during the bidding phase there is a guy on the other end (im assuming the seller) who will continue to outbid you until the price is what he's happy with and then he will stop bidding (since theres an automatic refresh system that will continue to add another 5 minutes if another bid is placed after the 5minute countdown). Honestly for a country with the kind reputation it has there is just as many scammers as any other country. You can't even delete your card details off the website nor do they have an account deletion option just to lock people in more. It ain't worth the headache, buy from local sellers for the $20 more. trust me you end up paying $150 for shipping anyway.
Good thing my intuition told me to buy through PayPal and to pay the extra 500 yen for their standard plan. Granted, I bought a console and not cards, but still, this video is very helpful! It's a shame they dont take care of their customers when scammed! If what I purchased does not come, then i suppose I can just get my money back through paypal. At that point, I'll take the L and never buy from buyee again
I just got scammed for a couple cards. The person had really high feedback with numbers so I assumed they were reputable. I later find out I was scammed and saw the all the positive reviews were from buyee with all the negative ones were from other buyers (not buyee). I told them about this and other problems they have so they can fix but they also told me to “go fuck myself”. So thanks for the video I’m definitely contacting PayPal after this.

Buyee tracks IP addresses and saves users info (name, address, ect.) Of course Japanese law is different than US law and everywhere else. Information kept by sites/apps should be illegal.

Buyee has no protection and you will have to force them to give you a refund

I think that Buyee is simply a warehouse that accepts the stuff that you buy from sellers and they agree to ship it to you. Their purpose is to give you the option to ship stuff from Japan, where there is usually no option. I can't understand why someone would blame Buyee, when they, themselves purchased something fake. It's kind of like blaming the post office for delivering something fake to you in the mail. People need to consider Buyee as if it's their Japanese P.O. box, that ships their stuff to them when they are done with their orders. Why would I blame my PO Box owner if he received something fake, that I ordered, and in good faith shipped it to me?
I'm not blaming them for the fact the items I purchased were fake. I blame them for doing nothing after being made aware of the situation. Even the smallest of things, like leaving negative feedback to warn other buyers. They refused when I asked. When I forced a refund via Paypal, I was held accountable for the fakes, not the original seller. They care more about how they are perceived as a business in Japan than the people who choose to pay them hundreds in fees to use their service.
Also, the people in the post office are not directly connected or purchasing things on their customer's behalf. They also don't repackage all of the packages that come in to their warehouse before shipping them to their recipients.
I got scammed via Buyee and I blame them as much as the seller because I even purchased Buyee's 'buyer protection insurance' that is meant to protect you and refund you if the item you receive is different to the one listed and they still won't refund me! Despite my receiving an item that was not as described in the listing. (Advertised as unopened and unused and arrived opened and severely damaged and dirty and covered in scratches). Buyee are the worst! Thank F for Paypal protection!
I am sure they have a way to get the refund, buyee just don't want to be bothered with the problem.. that is what I think is not good with buyee

They're shipping and site is very misleading af they full of shit if you don't use an valid payment site they don't even tell u about extra shipping they had it as free but trying to get you with 30 dollars shipping.
Just happened to me today for two purchases!. Did you have to provide evidence why the cards are fake? Under buyee's rules they state they do not authenticate items makes me nervouse that I won't get my $ back.
I never received any money back from them after proving they were fake. You can try tho to see if they have changed their stance. If not, youll have to charge it back on your card or Paypal to force a refund and then they will probably ban you from the website, like they did me. Good luck.
Hi, good video, thanks, but I would like to ask you, a few weeks ago, I bought a display case of cards. When they arrived, some boxes were empty, and all the booster packs were weighed. I got a full refund through PayPal, but now Buyee is sending emails saying if I don't pay on May 07, they will take legal action. Is that possible? That's why I won the dispute in PayPal because I have proof of everything. Thank you for your time

@@enokimushrooom I paid the ransom to get to use my account again. The amount wasn't enough for me to quit based on how much I estimated I could make using the service. Sucked, but it is what it is.
@@JavaAkuma i think you could’ve just made a new account with a different paypal/card and maybe use a vpn, it worked for me when i had to do a chargeback. still curious about the guy who was threatened with legal action tho
I have a crazy story with Buyee and being scammed. End of the story though, luckily got all my money (almost) back due to my credit card company, but banned from Buyee completely.

How about buying sealed booster box from Buyee?
I typically buy my sealed directly from sellers located in Japan or on eBay. That being said I am not a sealed product "investor". I grade and flip singles mostly. Any sealed I buy, I open for fun.
Buyee... really sucks for raw cards only buy graded cards

Anytime I hear something like this and think "it sounds a little too good to be true". And often times that would be the case.

Just have to reach out to them and see if they will help. If not, reach out to Paypal and ask them. Just know, that if you charge back from Buyee, you may be banned from using their site.
Problem with buyee for me is the costs.
Way too expensive.
