    Very informative. Thanks so much. Even in dealing with buyee sellers and shipping fees to the USA it still must be cheaper than buying Pokemon JP cards from Japanese sellers on eBay?

      It depends on volume. If you are able to spread the shipping fee across 50-100 cards, it ends up being very low per card. I would assume Buyee also has less competition per item, which may drive down the prices a little compared to eBay. But there is a ton more risk using Buyee so its really a risk/reward scenario if you are thorough and put a lot of time into vetting the right cards.

    Hey Java, are you paying for the "Standard Plan" 500 yen option on individual cards or going with the "Lite" plan. Adding 500 yen per single kinda kills the deal. Wondering if it is something that I NEED to get. Thanks!

      Sometimes on expensive cards Ill do the standard plan but normally I do the lite plan for everything. Its probably more risky but i dont really trust Buyee to give me any refunds so ill just eat the cost if something happens.

      @@JavaAkuma Thanks for the reply! I ended up doing this as well as there were too many individual transactions and it adds up.

    i feel like some savvy sellers are starting to ship you a card that they didn't picture. sometimes i receive a card that is very off center, while the image looks like its well centered. and you cant really do anything about it. buyee wants you to show proof of opening the package or they wont refund you.. at least that has been my exp. have you successfully gotten buyee to refund you?

      The only time was for a card I argued was damaged in shipping. I've multiple times presented the same evidence for the same issues and its incredibly inconsistent on whether they will do anything. Most of the time they don't. I've stopped reaching out to them and now just eat the cost because of how many times I've been rejected. Its not worth the time.

    Buyee is a nightmare, I won an auction for a Poncho Pikachu and now I don't want to pay it because I'm paranoid lol.

    Is it safer to let buyee take a photo when the order arrived at the warehouse or wait and check myself if everythings fine. And if something is missing when the stuff arrived from japan, do I get my money back because I had the standard insurance for 500 yen or how does that work?

    • @JavaAkuma
      @JavaAkuma  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I personally no longer purchase any of the insurance or protective packaging as I tend to do fine without it. I probably would opt to if it were a really expensive item. In my experience the inspection or insurance doesn't guarantee you a refund. I make every purchase with the assumption of eating the costs and not receiving any money back if something is wrong.
      In your case, I would video you opening the package when it arrived. The entire process. If something isn't in there that was supposed to be hopefully that will be enough proof to possibly help. But again, I assume with every purchase, no refunds.

      @@steffotron If I do buy sealed, I buy on eBay so that I have buyer protection. I dont typically buy Japanese sealed tho, especially with the current super high prices, but yeah, eBay.

    buyee is basically dead for vintage cards (well the most sought after at least) i havent been able to get a good clean card in a while now. a year ago i was finding some amazing cards that graded 10s. im happy bc they are my pride and joy of my collection but its too mainstream now, and japanese people themselves are grading the good cards.

    • @JavaAkuma
      @JavaAkuma  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It does make you wonder when the "mint" looking cards on Buyee start being people's reject pile cards that can't be graded photographed in real good lighting. Grading becoming mainstream in Japan will definitely shake things up eventually.

    Do you have a list of those bad sellers?

    • @JavaAkuma
      @JavaAkuma  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Ive gotten to the point where I don't track anymore but back when I was much more risk averse and with less capital, it was very helpful to keep track of them as I purchased.
