    Again, I would like to clarify, this video is not intended to slander buyee's name or reputation. It's purely to share my experience, open the conversation with other's experiences and hopefully educate or make other's weary of the risks!
    Reputable import/export companies I'd recommend:

    Hidden fees, ridiculous wrapping, consolidation charges, useless stuffed crap to make the box heavier. They're becoming so expensive and shady too. It was my second and last time using them. There are other proxy companies that do the job for less

    • @stillbaomatsuo
      @stillbaomatsuo ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Wished people stop simping for these companies.. are the coupons gonna justify $10 of consolidation fee, then $60 for shipping for a jacket and a plastic bottle?
      Facts are they have a lot of hidden charges and consolidating orders often makes the whole package heavier for some reasons. Then charges are skyrocketed for no reason. They are expensive and shady now amd that's all i will say.

      I'll have to open a case with them because they're refusing to downsize even though they offer it without me giving up any action if the item does not arrive to me and I'm pretty sure they're about to ban my account

      They don’t have to make it heavier - most shipping companies have switched to volumetric shipping, so you can have a big box of bubble wrap with $10 of goods and $300 - shipping charge. I have seen examples where a small 1U 19” rack mount unit they put into 20x20x30 in. box. They just don’t care. It could be their “standard” box.

    Having some wheels imported currently via Jesse Streeter through DHL. Jesse is always super friendly, helpful, and best of all is responsive. Paying invoices is easy and he will handle the entire YAJ bidding/shipping/handling for you. His quotes may seem high but in my experience he will overestimate the quote (probably so he doesn’t underestimate and have upset buyers when the price is higher) and the actual price is usually lower than the estimate. Great dude and great service if you are trying to get stuff from YAJ.

    The only good thing about Buyee is that their delivery is pretty reliable (never had issues). But they tend to use ridiculously huge boxes, which often forces you to use the most expensive shipping option (DHL), and if you want to consolidate, they literally put their already huge boxes into even bigger box. And the biggest problem - support is non-existent. It’s like talking to robots (they just send you their prepared standard replies and if you ask for more details, they just re-send previous reply). To be fair, this is happening not on every transaction (I had examples of good sized boxes). That is the only reason I sometimes taking a risk to use their services.

    Not a car parts story but I did buy camera gear from Japan from what seemed a reputable seller but there was some issue with shipping which never got resolved. A few weeks of messages back and forth to get it shipped but they eventually stopped responding. Other photogs had the same experience, but only when there was a problem. If the shipping had no issues they got the gear no problem. Sounds obvious but I guess it meant to the company in Japan that any issues weren't worth the time, so they just didn't and who cares if they lose a few random western customers. All my other JP experiences have been great but maybe it was the same for your seller.

    Jesse Streeter is 100% the only way to go for importing anything from Japan. Have personally gone through him so many times.
    Buyee is just crap, and overcharges crazy amounts for shipping, especially big parts like skirts or bumpers.

  • @tomsilverthorn2425
    @tomsilverthorn2425 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I had a similar issue with them as well. I purchased a set of shortened knuckles and 2 full sets of 326 wheel nuts under the illusion that i could consolidate. I applied and they refused without any reasoning besides the fact "it did not meet their requirements". This left me stuck as I had already purchased all of the items so I had to purchase postage on each individually which made it loads more expensive than originally anticipated.

    • @tomsilverthorn2425
      @tomsilverthorn2425 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@n3er0o I can only assume they make a small margin on top of each postal service, so there is an incentive for them if I purchase 3 lots of postage, rather than 1. I still use Buyee to this day for parts so I'm not too worried, it's just a shame their customer service can be so poor at times.

    So it doesn’t sound like a Scam per say as in I feel you will eventually get you product just like you did the Magazines BUT I feel that they are VERY UNPROFESSIONAL & VERY UNRELIABLE because the sound of the run around is ridiculous and I would probably stay away from working with them direct or even at all...I would definitely find another source!

    • @LEPAutomotive

      Well I’d definitely consider purposely separating items and refusing to consolidate in order to get more money out of me for a shipping as a scam. But we’ll see, rn it’s still not looking like I’ll get the skirts unless I waste the $800+ they want for shipping

    Im using buyee for years now. Never had a problem, they are very fast all the time. Basically from the beginning magazines - You used sail shipping, which takes months (1-3months + even more as covid), ems was suspended but usually 5-7 working days.
    Side skirts - they are too big (length no more then 1.5m long for most options ems, fedex, airmail, only dhl I think can ship bigger stuff)
    How You know that seller in japan sent them as one piece, not 2? I wouldt be suprised if he did.
    Im avoiding buying bumpers, side skirts etc as they are hard to ship, but as I said, till today im using them for any smaller pieces and works great and very fast each time.
    Its weird really situation

    Sounds like typical Japanese style. I used to live in Japan and EMS have strict size requirements. It’s max 1.5m length. I suspect with packaging, that it probably exceeded this. They probably didn’t know how to communicate the issue. You did have a positive experience with the magazines. There is lots of risks with shipping.

    Bought a pair of side skirt 10/15/2, it was shipped out as a pair $278 DHL + $111 for the winning bid. Recived 1 week later. Ok not bad so i decided to bid on a pair of fender. Won the bid at $805 listed as left & right (pair), it arrived to the warehouse now they are charging me 2 shipping prices. Charges are $908 & $1028 wth???? Im not paying almost 3k just for 2 fender. Why cant they ship both fender at once, and alone almost 1k for shipping is ridiculous. They are not responding and im jist gonna get my bank involved. mine experience recently, i bought a set of seat rail ,and it's packing in seat rail's size , and i'm gonna consolidate another 1 item which is very small in size , a wheel nut actually which not more than 5x5x5 cm in dimension and less than 500g. Guest what happen to me........THE VOLUMETRIC DIMENSION INCREASE 50 PERCENT THAN ORIGINAL PACKING AFTER CONSOLIDATION PROGRESS, which increase ridiculously in shipping fee in order to send back my place. I really fxxk up with them and already miss calculated the cost of shipping which i already informed my customer previously. Take note guys from mine experience
