I had a radical hysterectomy. They had to leave one ovary due to my thrombosis mutation (I can’t take many medications). During my surgery they perforated my bladder in two places. I had to have a second surgery to correct it. They did not support or guide me after the surgery. You have given me more information on how to take care of myself after my surgery and other issues that I thought was just me. I appreciate the help and support from your videos. I don’t feel so helpless.

I don’t know why female surgeons don’t advocate for muscle tightening when doing this surgery. I had a doctor tell me why the doctor didn’t do this at that time at the same hospital. I had the best of insurance and my job consist of a lot of lifting and which i have back problems. I notice when I wear tight garment on my stomach before surgery I would feel better I had two c section and my stomach muscles are whooped. Ladies if you have a hysterectomy and you know you are not having kids you want to look your best and request this. I ask my doctor in Illinois and she was like that’s plastic surgery . Dhh yes it is. I did not have time to really do research on my doctor or how to go about this, because of my work schedule. Never deal with a doctor just about the surgery your mental is important as well. Nothing would have stop me from having it she just wasn’t interested. Men doctors look out for them fully.

I thought I had just a total hysterectomy but according to your definition I had a radical. It was an abdominal procedure and my cervix, uterus, ovaries and tubes were all removed. I felt fine, seemed to be healing normal (have slight bladder leakage), but around week 6, after my post op appointment I began doing light exercise (walking video, light stretching and cardio) and now I am having pain in my right hip mostly. It’s like a spasm or “catch” if I move the wrong way. The pain doesn't radiate down my leg like sciatica, but it does hurt. Any suggestions? Is this something I should seek PT for? Thank you

I wish someone told me about doing pelvic excercises post op... everyone was focusing on the cancer part. I still get pain peeing...and have to hold the flow...rather then let it flow...if I push their is pain in my vaginal area...and yes I pee more often... urge to go more often... Here’s a very important question I have and although I have looked at all of my options I’m still confused?
I seriously need to figure this one out because if I don’t I believe there will be no coming back from a deep deep depression that could lead to possible thoughts of suicide since in the past I experienced anxiety and depression but free of it today and no meds thank God!
I have a uterine fibroid at 16cm it grew from 14cm…. never experienced any pain, period cramps or nothing of that nature ever!
But the excessive bleeding has taken its toll to where it’s something out of a horror story.
I opted out of hysterectomy because it makes no sense to pull out others parts when the fibroids are the only thing I want out. so I went for an MRI because I wanted to have a UFE completed but the surgeon said the fibroid was too large and the procedure was too risky…
so I went back to my gynecologist and requested a laparoscopic myomectomy but she came up with this long story of the risk and time frame?
my thing is, if myomectomy has its risk same as hysterectomy then why offer it?
makes no sense gynecologist must also respect the patients needs. So basically, I’m waiting to see if the team of surgeons will perform the laparoscopic myomectomy.
Hysterectomy is my very last resort and even that I’m very skeptical about getting it because my main issue is at 53 I have no issues with pain of any sort with the fibroids or periods.
I have a good sex life and I believe a hysterectomy taking away my uterus is definitely going to shift things around and the thought of a prolapsed bladder or inconsistence is just added in n health problems I just don’t want.
I already have hot flashes and night sweats that disrupt my sleeping at night but still have the regular periods and the fibroid that needs to be removed.
I believe gynecologist you all mean well but I believe one organ supports the other and the thought of sexual dysfunction and inconsistence is too scary to even think of…
I remember my mom having a hysterectomy at 40 and for years she had to compete a bed pan next to her bed because she couldn’t make it in time to the restroom. this was reality

Walking and getting out of bed was hard the first two weeks, but now I am fine. I went back to work this week. and started an exercise regimen two weeks ago. I started out walking and now I'm back to jogging. I wish I had done this sooner due to the massive size of the fibroids which caused me to be severely anemic. I had partial hysterectomy and cervix removal 6 years ago, with anterial and posterial repair? What does that mean? Ive had multipal uti infections on a regular basis for a long time till i had them looked into. They said bacteria was present in the bladder so i was put on medication for this and medication for overactive as well. I no longer take either as i stopped both . Now my issue is possible ibs its really a lot more frequent than ever now with blood just recently and a lot of abdomenal pain which goes within a couple of days is this normal? Im 56 and have zero lobedo since my hysterectomy the same as it was before surgery, tried vaginal hrt had to stop due to headaches, still have hot flushes, also had these before surgery for at least 5 years? I have also stopped sleeping as i used to, now toss and turn what seems like most of the night, when before surgery no problem at all.

I had a radical hysterectomy about a year ago. My issue is I’m dealing with a sharp, pulling pain in my pelvic region. The surgeon won’t see me and my primary doctor basically told me the pain is all in my head. The pain is almost constant and brings me to tears. Could this be due to scarring? If so, what can I do?

I am so sorry Tiny Houses. I am feeling the same thing. I had everything removed due to endometriosis. So my Dr. won’t do any HRT or says I will have pain again. Well now I feel like crying all the time, having bladder and back pain. Today my incision is even sore internally when it was doing so much better. I can’t sleep due to hot flashes all night. I can say at this point I’m wondering if this was the right surgery for me. I feel like at 8 weeks the Dr. thinks all is good and I feel all alone feeling like something is wrong with me since most women talk about how much better they are. You will be in my prayers!!🙏

What is the survival rate for a total Hysterectomy for a 67 year old woman?

  • @Susieq26754
    @Susieq26754 หลายเดือนก่อน

A woman needs hormonal therapy after hysterectomy. I never got that memo. Now I have suffered for over 20 years. I am deficient of T3 and T4. But doctor wont treat me. Even though I have PSOS, arthritis, fatigue, eye swelling and dryness. I sweat at night and only survive on a few hours of sleep at night. Women need triiodothyronine or testosterone for hypothyroidism. Because early hysterectomy can cause hypothyroidism. No single food will treat a hormonal imbalance,” says Keri Gans, M.S., R.D. Meaning, if you have a health condition like polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) or hypothyroidism, diet alone isn't going to correct what's going on in your body.Dec 6, 2023
