Yes,been there, done that so be careful and yes to the baby steps until those are COMPLETELY gone and don’t make same mistake I made by rushing things and ending up back in hospital 😩
Speaking of the nerves at the scar sights. I had my hysterectomy 11 years ago, and every now and then I still have a stinging almost burning sensation at one tiny spot in my scar. As if my scar is saying remember me? Yeap I'm still here. However I had the old old traditional surgery where they cute you from belly button to public bone and I did get an infection right below my belly button right before my staples came out. You will have little reminders now and then, but yes life is 100% better after hysterectomy. Glad to hear you are doing well and yes continue to take it easy until you feel like your normal self.
I’m at 8 weeks now. Had to go back to work at 4 weeks. I do my 10000 steps at my shop so taking it easy wasn’t an option for me. I bought a belly band which helped a lot and at the 7 weeks mark I was back on my roller skates. So happy it’s done and spring is here now in Australia. My 50th year is a year I won’t forget
Sorry you had such a slow recovery.. I was doing laundry 3 days after my hysterectomy. I am 72 I was told to eat very high protein diet a week before my surgery, I also wore my Life Wave patches 3 days after surgery. Snd God touched me week 5 and I received all my strength back.
I cannot express how much your hysterectomy videos (and I’ve watched them all) have helped me and brought be comfort. I’m 9 days post op and have been miserable. But after watching all your videos have brought me so much hope. You’ll never know how grateful I truly am for you for sharing your experience with us. Thank you!
Hi im 3 weeks down to my total hysterectomy and i want to know if anyone experienced any kind of spotting during the first 6 weeks. Hope you have recovered well 🌸 I also try walking in my house but feel alot of pressure in the lower abdomen where sutures are. What is everyone’s experience on that. Really appreciate if anyone can share 💕
Thank you for sharing your hysterectomy story here on TH-cam. After years of being in pain, and several invasive pelvic ultrasounds. My doctor had recommended The Da Vinci procedure. I am 39 with (Several Uterine Fibroids, ovarian cysts) . I am a motherless daughter, so I turned to TH-cam for advice, planning and help! Thank you for sharing your journey! It is helping me prepare for mine! Lots of love! 💕
I had to have a hysterectomy from having endometriosis almost 20 year ago and I'm 41 now and ever since I been battling with severe depression and migraines can't sleep. I guess due to all the hormone changes .. but endometriosis was so bad 😞. Thank you so much for sharing your kindness in this video. Your appreciated and I'm very happily to have found your channel..I have no sister to talk too about female issues so it's a blessing to watch videos and learn.. with my most kindest thoughts and truest words with respect and love for you. Melody
Congratulations, Renee. You have followed your doctors instructions and taken care of yourself during this recovery period and now it is showing how wonderful you have recovered. Internal stitches still there, yeah - my mind was also blown. I love the amount of information your doctors shared and how wonderful they were. Enjoy getting back your normal life💖
Good afternoon. Thank you so much for posting. I just had a complete total hysterectomy, umbilical hernia repair and my bladder prolapsed during the surgery and I had to also get that repaired. I had Cervical cancer, fibroids, endometriosis and a failed ablation and I'm a, 2 time breast cancer and had Thyroid cancer Everything was done This Tuesday the 23rd The surgical menopause is no joke. I have graves disease and lupus and I have no thyroid so my body is going through massive changes and extreme pain. I feel like I'm losing it, sitting in the bed to bathroom. It hurts getting off and on everything. Feeling like all of your inside are moving shifting and pulling. I'm wearing a stomach band 24/ 7 and it's uncomfortable. I just cry and pray. I know God has it and I'll be great one day. Today it's rough. So it's a blessing to come across your video. Thank you so much. I'm happy for your healing and praying for complete healing for you. Nothing but amazing years to come. ❤️💐💐💐
Prayers you are continuing to heal up. I'm scheduled this September 12th. Won't know if cancer until everything removed and tested. Pre cancerous cells on cervix since 2017. Gyno oncologist unable to biopsy tumor in uterus. ❤ Many blessings to you.
@@teresafurchess397 lord have mercy. I will keep you in my continued prayers. Please just keep holding on to God's unchanging hands. He has already said you will win. I'm claiming your full healing. Thank you so much. My mother just got another diagnosis today, she's already beat head and neck cancer, and currently battling colon and liver now they are saying her lungs. But she's fighting like never before. Just keep on fighting my beautiful sister. You are very strong I believe that you are. 💐🙏💙❤️❤️
hi alisha, please don't worry thing will get better soon i also had hysterectomy 7 weeks back and i was healing very slowely and didn't have much help at all had to do things myself but i am getting better every week and make sure i am thinking positive and keep stress out as best as i can. take care and everything will be alright
I had a total hysterectomy, everything removed, with a vertical 7.5 inch cut almost 2 years ago. My vertical incision was all internal stitches. When I was watching your video, I thought to myself "oh yeah, it's going to be months before they dissolve". :-) I hear you about jeans. For me, it was probably a good 3 months before jeans were comfortable for me. Like you, every week got a little bit better. I read where having a hysterectomy with having everything removed can take up to a year to heal completely. I'll be 2 years post op this May and feel great. Glad you are on the road to getting back to normal. 🙂
@@WelcomeToMyCurls Yeah, I had NO idea all my stitches were going to be internal. Also, that nerve tingling pain you're feeling, mine didn't go away for almost a year. Was told it was scar tissue and nerves healing.
I found you just about a week ago as inspiration for a curly gray-haired woman and I can't stop watching your videos that aren't about your hair because you're so charming, charismatic, and articulate. Thank you for all of this truth you tell because we need more women to be open and truthful about these things!
❤✅🌻Now !! Mrs Busy Body. 👀 You Look Fantastic!! Your Body has been upgraded with a New Hard Drive! The Drugs and everything else will take a little time to work in unison… Just wake up right every morning. Sit on your bed for a minute or 2 before rising to your feet. Do not rise too quickly. I am sure I am telling you what you already know lol 😂 your body is now on a time table. But one day it will be on “Mission Accomplished.” Just be Patient Now ! And 🌿Stay Safe🌿👣👣🐾🐾
G'morning! Newbie here, post-op day 3. I had a Total Lap Hysterectomy, I still have my ovaries. My current battle is the gas used for my surgery and the pain of getting rid of it. Gas X and stool softeners are my new best friends. And riding in a car is absolutely awful as you mentioned. This video has helped to make me feel not alone. Thank you!!
Hi and welcome! So glad my video was helpful :). To get rid of the gas, moving around throughout the day is critical along with GasX and stool softener. You're doing everything right! It just takes time but it will pass. Promise! I was uncomfortable in the car for weeks! I took my travel pillow along to press on my belly under the seatbelt and that was very helpful. I have several more videos on my channel on my recovery process. I think they would be helpful to you too. Best wishes!
I'm 2 weeks post up, total and bikini. Was moving around day 2, no pain. Got my stitches out but the gas pains!! That is what I'm battling. And only after the stitches came out after week one that I'm feeling a little uncomfortable hunched. The gas is the worst! And I can't stand jeans on me at the moment, although it's not painful, it's kind of uncomfortable
I had one on August 8th of this year.. still recovering.. everything gone except my ovaries… this is my 4th week.. so still sore and yes car rides are the worst..😂
@@jasminemcmahan1962 im scheduling one due to one large fibroid & several small. but nervous! am i doing right thing? i prefer to keep all my body parts but starting to feel the symptoms of fibroids with the bloating, the heaviness, occasional cramping etc was told I could get that acessa procedure & melt them down… but there’s no guarantee. more won’t grow back. so it’s almost like what’s the point? might as well remove & keep the ovaries. one & done hopefully.
Thank you for making these videos about your hysterectomy experience. I’m a couple of weeks away from getting mine. I have endometriosis and a fibroid, also some endometrial scarring on my bowel. I’ve had an MRI, and just about to get a colonoscopy to see if I need a section of my bowel removed due to scarring. My gynae has had all these tests done so that he can perform a total hysterectomy via keyhole. Your journey has inspired me, I now know that I have to take the time to heal and recover. I’m 54, and have been on a health and fitness journey over the last 2 years. So happy that you’re now released. I’m also a curly grey haired woman, thank you for all your videos. You’re an inspiration. Sandra (Abu Dhabi)
@@jennpeppe6553 Hi, I’m doing fine thanks. It’s now 1 month since my hysterectomy, it went well, got home the next day. Taking everything a day at a time. Renee’s experience has really helped me. How are you? Sandra.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience. I'm so happy I've found your channel. You have such a warm presence on screen. Seeing your progress made me feel much calmer about my upcoming Laparoscopy.
Thank you for sharing especially about walking and exercising. Not being able to walk like I want has been depressing 😕. I appreciate you transparency ❤
@nedrachin3869 Same here. 7 weeks post hysterectomy and still recovering. My doctor explained that abdominal pain can result from nerve injury during procedures involving cameras, pipes, and other instruments inserted through incisions in the abdomen. This pain may persist for months or longer.
Hi Renee, I just wanted to say to you, if you have redness and itching from the patches it means your skin is allergic to the plastic. It’s actually quite common to have this. I had the same thing happen to me when I had to use surgical dressings from my surgery a couple of months ago. I stopped using them and the redness and itching went away after a few days. You may want to discuss a cream hormonal treatment instead of the patches with your doctor. In any case you’re doing so well and I’m so glad to see that you’re taking things nice and easy on your body until it fully heals. Love your channel and can’t wait for the new videos to come out to watch them. Sending you lots of healing energy and heaps of love from the Gold Coast, Australia 👍🥰
Two thumbs up for you! Renee you have done an awesome job during and after your hysterectomy. So glad you can now start to walk outside and take your sweet dogs too! Continue to take care and take it easy. Congrats to you, you did it! I just wanted to add that jeans took me a long time to be comfortable with after my hysterectomy, it’s been years but I do remember that part. You look so healthy and vibrant oh and I can see that pep in your step!!!🥳👍❤️
Hi Cindy! Yesterday I took the dogs on their first walk....and they LOVED it! I walked them individually and they sniffed everything. Seems like each walk took forever because we walked slowly...but Maxxie and Pollux loved being outside and seeing all things again. It's going to be a beautiful week here so we'll be walking every day. In fact, we're waiting on it to warm up a big so we can go this morning ☀️
I just had a full hysterectomy done this past Monday, July 24th of this year, I'm 46 Year's old, and I have to say it has been brutal, the pain it's excruciating. It's been 6 days and I'm still hurting, can't barely bend, coughing and blowing my nose it's hard and painful. I'm sleeping on my sofa downstairs because It's hard for me to get out of a regular bed. like you I had everything removed and I was put on hormones. Thank you for sharing your story
Oh no! Sounds like you're having a terrible time of it. I'm so sorry to hear that. Hopefully the pain will subside quickly. I took tylenol and ibuprofen intermittently for almost 2 weeks to keep my pain under control. Perhaps that would help you? Best wishes
hi i too had cough because of the tube in throat during surgery. so i take a deep breath in before i cough softly and this helped reduce preadure in stomach, please try this it really helps.
Hi thanks for your video. Here (Canada) the public health system gives me only 10 min with my doctor for my post-op appointment. No time for questions or concerns! Your experience is really helping me understand what I'm going through. I'm at 6 Weeks today, still not fully back though. Going back to work in 4 days and I find it a little bit early...will see . Thanks again ❤
Hi Renee! So happy you are recovering and ready to move ahead. The way you documented this journey has been so informative and well done. I just enjoy all your videos because they are so real and I feel like I am hearing from a friend. ❤️
Wow this is helpful. My mom just got her hysterectomy last Saturday. I have sent this video to her. This might be helpful for her recovery. Thanks for making this video. 🎉❤
Hi Renee. I just found your channel last week, and honestly can’t wait for a new video. I found it because I was having a laparoscopic hysterectomy and wanted to see someone who had it also. I had it on Tuesday. I’m so glad I watched your videos, they made me so much less nervous. Your videos are so much fun! My kids now are watching them. They love the dogs, and of course the kitties . I just wanted you to know that your videos really helped me get over my severe anxiety Monday night before my surgery. Your home is so beautiful, and your girls, my husband and I have been married 18 years, we have four children , one set are twins. And a cat. I had three surgeries before my hysterectomy . You are such a kind hearted, compassionate person. I look forward to more of your videos. They sure do make me smile.
Thank you. I wanted to ask you Renee. When did you take a bath again ? I’m at dove weeks, my doctor said I can take one now, I’m still nervous about it.
Hello!! I’m new to your channel. I am scheduled to have a hysterectomy within 1 month and this was so helpful to get me an idea of what I can or may need to look out for! Thanks for sharing and btw, you are soo beautiful!! I love your hair color and curl!! 😍
Thank you so much for your informative videos. You are truly a gem! Today I had a total hysterectomy laparoscopically. At home now in bed recovering. ❤
Happy to hear you are feeling good in your recovery. Your skin might be reacting to the adhesive on your patch. I use a lidocaine patch and even though it relieves my nerve pain I can only leave it on for so long. Just a thought. Attitude is everything and yours has been so positive through your whole ordeal. It is a pleasure to share your experiences, thank you.
Thank you for sharing your story. I had a complete hysterectomy in October of 2023. I was out from work for a month, even though my doctor wanted me to go back to work in 2 weeks, I told him flat out no I have enough sick time available . I experienced some of your symptoms. Like wearing tight clothing around the waist. I have 5 small scars those seems to be taking a long time to go away. I'm also on the estradiol path, I thought patch should be wore at the lower abdomen area. Any females reading this who haven't done their surgery, please stay away from the Lupron injection before your surgery.
Just had my total Hysterectomy 2 weeks ago today. Followed up with my doctor yesterday and she's happy with my 2 week progress. Thanks for sharing your journey and giving me a peek into what the future will look like. I wonder what that pulling sensation on my right side was ... Stitches, makes sense. Thanks again, and I hope you are dack to your normal life by now.
I’m so glad I found your videos. You did such a nice job on the hysterectomy series. I’m one week from my surgery and your videos gave me so much info on being prepared and post surgery info helps. Thank you for your time and love in sharing your story! Prayers for your continued success in healing!
Renee I had total knee replacement 4 weeks ago. I know totally different situation but your videos have helped me. Glad you are getting on the other side of your surgery. I am 48 almost 49 and my knee just nope not anymore. At least now I have an end game to pain
You are very fortunate. In January 2024 I had a total hysterectomy laparoscopic ( ovaries, cervix, fallopian tubes and uterus ) for endometrial cancer. Following that I had to undergo 3 treatments of internal radiation called brachytherapy. There are side effects to that type of radiation which can be long term. I now have to go in for internal exams every 3 mos.
Hello, I want to thank you for sharing your journey, it’s mind boggling to learn there’s such little information and education on these peri menopause and menopause issues from doctors. I am having a total hysterectomy in a couple of months and your blog is helping ease some of my fears. About this post and what you share about your abs, I would suggest you reach out to a personal trainer that can rehab your pelvic floor. I’ve been researching and the potential for pelvic prolapse after these surgeries is high. You have to start strengthening your pelvic floor and abs ASAP. Ask your doctor about it, your insurance might cover a pelvic floor rehab specialist.
We're all so happy to have our Renee back just about top-notch LOL🎉 Now, getting your 10,000 steps in might be a couple of walks with the dogs since you sold your ice cream shop.
Me too!!! I am so happy to be myself again! I'll have to work up to my 10k steps for sure...but I know I can do it (even without the ice cream shop). And BTW....I don't miss being at the shop at all! 😁
Hi .. I had a complete abdominal hysterectomy last month and in frustrated. The pain in the incision are is unbearable. I’m a pretty active person and I have been limited to doing anything. The constant need to use the bathroom is stressing me out. And I’m starting to feeling waves of hot sweats even with the AC on. Thanks to all of you for sharing your experiences.
The big thing I found I had to do after my full hysterectomy like yours, was being diligent about core and pelvic floor exercises to keep my bladder in the right position, otherwise, some ladies will start leaking and their bladders may fall or fold and increase your risk of UTI’s. Thankfully, I had an awesome recovery nurse who shared this with me, not the surgeon. I followed up with my GYN about this and I made sure I got a referral to a physical therapist who specializes in leaky bladders and pelvic floor strengthening and she wishes that surgeons would send our type of post op patients to her when released to exercise. Ladies, look into this!!!
Thank you so much for documenting your hysterectomy journey and sharing it with us, Renee. Hope I never have to face it, though! Best wishes for your continued recovery. ❤️
Hi Renee, I found your videos when looking for information on heavy periods and menopause. I am 51 and have the same symptoms that you’ve talked about. I have a doctors appointment today and I am going to ask about getting the complete hysterectomy. Thank you for sharing so much. God bless you
Oh wow Becky! I'm sorry to hear that....hopefully you can get something worked out. Prepare a list of questions for your doctor and look at the your symptoms from all angles. That's my best advice 😊
Thank you for documenting your journey!! As someone who's thinking about getting this done in a few years, this was very eye opening. I appreciate your willingness to share.
Really pleased for you Renne 💖 I know exactly where you're coming from about you're body telling you it isn't 100% 😅 But what you've been through, it really is amazing 🥰 xxx
You are a God send and I thank You for sharing your experience with us. This was all very helpful. Thank you for your vulnerability, honesty and positive attitude! I pray that you’re continuing to enjoy life after the surgery!!
Rene your body will tell you what you can do. I had severe complications and spent 13 days in the hospital and 4 months at home recuperating. If I had not been younger and in very good shape . I would not be telling y’all this. Getting in good shape and eating healthy may one day save you.
So glad you’re recovery is doing exceptional🤗! This has been helpful, regarding recovery, having some test done but if needed it will be laparoscopic, so thank you for sharing your journey😍
Thank you for all your videos. I’ve learned so much from them on what to expect. Today I went out and bought some loose stretchy pants after you mentioned how sore your abdomen was. Robotic laparoscopic total hysterectomy scheduled in 2 weeks. Ready to get this over and done.
That was not my experience at all. I was out on restrictions for 12 weeks and my incisions were still not completely healed. 11 months later and I had to push for a referral to be in in pelvic floor PT due to some nerve issues and incontinence. I have not been able to wear a bra comfortably due to pain shooting up to my head and down to my groin and ankles. Recovery has been an absolute nightmare and thankfully, physical therapy has helped tremendously. Please advocate for yourselves and don’t let any doctor make you think that your symptoms are normal because when you get to physical therapy, they will tell you that they’re not.
I really enjoyed your hysterectomy videos and you explained your experience so well ❤ I'm 7 weeks out and was so happy to hear you mention the sore sensitive skin because I'm still struggling with that. It's very painful for me. Do you remember how long it took for yours to get better?
I'm so glad you're feeling better and are well down the road to recover and normal life!! Please do take it slow, I know it's difficult to do--you just want to dive right in and get back to normal right away. But you'll usually pay for it if you do!! You'll hurt! It will take time and it will seem very slow. After my fall down the stairs, I remember the first time I could tie my own shoes. I started to cry! I also told my doctor that I'd tied my own shoes and he was just as thrilled as I was!!
Yikes. I walk about 18,000 to 20,000 steps a day for my job, I bleed heavy too, so now I know why my iron super sucks. At 39, Im thinking about having a hysterectomy. My grandma and her mom had it done, my mother pushed through and is in menopause now. She says she feels way better after menopause, which lets me know how awful she mustve felt with her periods.
So happy your recovery is going well Renee 😊 Glad to here your night sweats have gone away..I'm going through menopause the natural way and really haven't had any symptoms yet except stopping my period and the occasional night sweat but the doctor told me it could change because I'm 52 .l could still have a reoccurance of my period so we'll see what happens. So happy to hear your starting to get back to normal.
I just had a laparoscopic hysterectomy just over 2 weeks ago. Fortunately I only have three incisions so the soreness is very light. I felt so good that I cleaned my house earlier this week and that was a big mistake. Even if I was feeling amazing, I still needed to take it easy. This video is encouraging.
That's fantastic! So glad you only had a slight soreness. And yes....even though you feel great doesn't mean your body is ready for all those things. Take time to heal and you'll be glad you did. Have a great day!
I have enjoyed your videos of your surgery experience. I have not had that experience...but it was interesting watching you explain yours. I'm sure that helped alot of other ladies...perhaps, going through the same health issues as you. Thank you for sharing this video with us. 👍🇨🇦😊 So glad you are recovering & feeling better. Recovery is always an individual journey. Different for everyone.
I had the same surgical procedure when I was in my early 50s; however, my experience was completely different from yours. There was no dramatic, lengthy lead-up to the procedure itself; I experienced a problem-free surgery/post-op phase; my recovery at home was without issue; and my path report was normal. As troublesome as your whole surgical experience seemed to be ... mine was the exact opposite.
Thank you for this information! I have medium fibroids so I will need a vertical incision. The last time I was cut on my stomach was with a cesarean section horizontally 20 years ago. I am going to have a home health person. Honestly, I am scared but I know God got me! No surgery date yet but I need to do this in 2024!
Im on my 2nd week if my abdominal hysterectomy. Can't wait to walk. I'm a walker and can't do that. I have not been in a car since surgery. Not looking forward to it.
Hi! Honestly, I did not go on even a slow short walk until week 5. It just hurt too bad. And riding in the car was horrible for me for a very long time. I was able to drive myself somewhat comfortably around week 4…but it wasn’t until week 6 that riding in the car no longer caused pain. So you’ve got a while to go but you’ll get there 💕
You are lucky. I was only 44 when I had a hysterectomy. I am now 72. I had 2 huge uterine fibroids. I was was cut from my lower abdomen to way above my navel.. On a morphine pain pump for 3 days. Took me 8 weeks to heal. I am a Retired RN who worked in Post Op Surgery. So I was very aware of what I was facing.
I just have to say you’re a doll. I found you when I was looking into the estradiol patch. I just put my first one on. I’m so excited! Love your curls 🤗
Looking great girl!!! My Sis is 2 weeks out from her surgery.... Not able to wear jeans yet (they had to actually cut her open) But she's on the mend And I will show her your video ....you have a new fan...Thank you ,The videos helped her a bunch.... ❤️😄👍
So glad my videos were helpful. I don't know when I'll be able to wear jeans...and now that summer is approaching...there's no need. I'll be in shorts and dresses for the next few month anyway. Yay!
Still catching up on your videos Renee, glad to hear you're able to go back to "normal" life .. and yeah internal stitches... I had them in my face after rhinoplasty and to do a final surgery on my cleft lip... I had to watch what I ate, try not to sneeze or cough or scrub my scalp too hard when washing my hair... etc... You will get there! Sending you hugs and further happy healing!
Thank you so much for that tip about stitches on the inside. 6 mos. I won't push it. I'm 4 wks post op nephrectomy. I have 4 port scars and 1 5 inch scar right lower abdomen where the kidney was removed from. I'm doing good. So by October 22 I should be out of the woods. I had kidney carcinoma, but I'm cancer free now using essiac protocol. I'm good.
God bless you, I wish you the best of health to you, the husband, the girls and all the pets, yours and theirs. Sorry I am a bit squeemish on the subject of your operation so I couldn't watch the whole of this video but I look forward to watch all your other ones. Take care. Francesco
I am almost one week in, had this surgery on June 5th. In my case, it came back as Endometrial Cancer so everything came off, laparoscopic. I am not in much pain at all, feel a bit swollen in the abdominal area. Bleeding and incontinence gone. The urine incontinence is what sent me to the doctor in the first place. So far I have no night sweats or bad menopause symptoms so lets see.
@@Sheila-p7k8ioh wow, only two days apart. I am feeling pretty good , I just went to my follow up appointment yesterday, the only thing is that the final pathology report is not ready yet so I have to wait until next week to hear from the Dr if the surgery took care of it, or if further treatment is required. Hope you are feeling better ❤
Hope you are getting better each day. How's your recovery been so far? Planning for a hysterectomy in a month. Did they do an ultrasound prior to your surgery? Did the doctors tell you have endometrial Cancer before surgery? Or was it a surprise afterwards? I am just scared 😮.
@@r-jproductions1343 In my experience, the hysterectomy was the easy part. Mine was done laparoscopic, 4 small ports , woke up with no side effects from anesthesia. Recovery from surgery has been very smooth. My main discomfort was while sitting down, had a bit of pain when needed to move my bowels, kind of like menstrual cramps. Don’t be afraid of the surgery 🥰. We had a strong suspicion of endometrial cancer due to blood work . Both my CA125 and HE4 were elevated, especially the HE4. I had abnormal bleeding for about 2 years which I thought was perimenopause. Once I started suffering (out of the blue) from urinary incontinence and kept getting worse , I finally went to the doctor . I was initially referred to a urogynecologist, and finally to an oncologist. The ultrasound showed endometrial thickness. The Dr attempted an endometrial biopsy but my blood pressure was so high, she said it would be best for the oncologist to do a frozen section in the hospital under general anesthesia. The frozen section confirmed the cancer and now the final pathology confirmed is grade 1, stage 3A. I hope this information is helpful. I am terrified of radiation and chemo but that’s more than likely what’s in the cards for me 🥲.
My gut feeling about the itchiness of the patch is that your body may be starting to talk to you and tell you it is no longer needed. You are good about paying attention to your body so I am sure you will know when you are ready to change or lower or discontinue.
Thank you again for all of the info and transparency! I’m nervous as hell going into this but you have given me so much insight. I’ll be calling tomorrow to see when I can get this scheduled which will likely be September. I’ll be watching lots more of your other videos. Kinda ironic that I’ve been researching this a lil bit already and low n behold it’s a Renee that provides the most! Hope you’re still doing well, Reneé in TX!
I can relate to your story about stitches on the inside. Two years ago I had a lobectomy ( lobe of the lung removed) and the incision scar had staples that were going to be removed eventually. After they were removed I was told about the internal stitches. I had never heard of internal stitches. It really surprised me and amazed me that they could do internal stitches.
Thank you so much, your videos have helped me through my hysterectomy process. The doctor told me that stitches will stay for like about 6 months . I’m in my 3 weeks after surgery and feel a lot of those pulling sensation on the corners of my bottom area. I was supposed to be on my period today and felt all the symptoms just like I use to before the surgery and they said that is normal
Hi! So glad your surgery is behind you now. And yes....those pulling sensations from the stitches are very uncomfortable. But it does get better....promise! It was around week 12 when I realized that I no longer felt the pulling. Guessing my stitches were dissolved. Yay!
Thank you for sharing your journey with us. It has really helped to prepare me for my procedure coming up 6-20-23. I pray that you continue to heal well and get back to your usual self. ❤❤
@@debbiedixon4722it may be too early to ask, but how’s your recovery going? I had my procedure on June 23, almost at a week and I feel my recovery is going well. I still have some pain in my belly button area but overall I wake up feeling better each morning (what a difference a day makes!) I have to remind myself to take it slowly because some times I feel really good and may push myself a bit more (staying up walking a bit more) but my body will quickly let me know to sit down! 😂 Anywho, hope yours and the original commenters’ recovery is coming along well! 😊
@@marhki ... I'm doing VERY WELL! Thanks for asking! I really haven't had any pain, other than some mild, menstrual like cramps the first and second days. I was REALLY sick 🤢 ( nausea & vomiting) from anesthesia this time ( I had NONE of that the only other time I had general anesthesia, when I had my gallbladder removed in 2008)... I spend 2 nights in the hospital, which I was told at least one, but probably 2... I was finally able to keep something down by Wednesday night and went home around lunchtime on Thursday. I haven't taken any pain meds since Saturday evening, and not because I was in pain, but couldn't sleep. I still feel like I am having side effects from the anesthesia ( taste is off, brain fog, weird dreams, etc) but feel a big improvement every day! My incisions are healing very well and kinda itchy now. I went for my first follow up appointment on Monday @ 6 days post op and will go again at 6 weeks post op.
I had a total hysterectomy after they found an enlarged ovary . The cyst was 11 inches long. The doctor was an excellent surgeon but I seemed to have a problem being cold .I had to get an electric blanket. No problems after the surgery. I just took it easy for a few weeks after then I was fine. I had type 1 cancer and was bleeding heavily before surgery . In comparison no bleeding was great
I'm curious if you're able to do any house cleaning? I'm almost 64 and will be having a total hysterectomy on May 2. I'm also raising 2 young grandchildren and although my hubby is going to do his best to take care of me post surgery, I'm super stressed over how much of a mess my house will be and when I'll be able to clean house again. I thank you for these videos regarding your hysterectomy. They've been very informative and you've answered a lot of questions for me. So glad you are doing well and getting back to normal!
Hi Jenny! During the first 2 weeks of recovery, I literally did nothing. I didn't clean anything, pick up anything, move anything....nothing. Then weeks 3-4 I starting with small things...cleaning the bathroom countertops and sinks, making the bed (but didn't pull hard on the covers), straightening up the house...but everything I did was easy and involved no lifting over 5 pounds. I did pick things up off the floor if they were small. I just made sure to take my time, rest when needed, and tell myself that if I couldn't do it...it was ok. Weeks 4-6 I did more...but not much more. I was able to do laundry at the point....but had Randy bring the laundry basket to the laundry room for me. I'm now 7 weeks and am taking it slow. I did too much yesterday with walking and cleaning...and my belly started hurting. I'm taking it easy today with doing nothing. I think the key is understanding that the house will be messy, things won't be done, you'll need help....and it's ok. You'll get better and take care of it when you feel like you can. Best wishes and speedy recovery to you! 💗
Hi. I've also had a complete hysterectomy back when I was 36. Im 53 now. We tried HRT but after a hard year of trial and error, plus finding I had heart disease, they stopped my HRT. I actually felt better without the hormones.
HELLO FOLLOWING YOUR RECOVERING VIDEOS FROM HYSTERECTOMY..I WAS RELEASE FROM MY DR. ON THE SECOND WEEK...I ALSO HAD A BURCH PRECEDURE..IT SEEMS TO ME THAT I WAS RELEASED TOO EARLY. ALTHOUGH I DONT HAVE ANY PAINS BUT STILL SEATING FOR TOO LONG OR WALKING BOTHERS ME.. PLUS IM 74 YEARS OLD..LOL THANKS A LOT
Ok I had a total hysterectomy 5 weeks ago….my healing and pain nothing I was up and around 4 days after release of hospital 😊 I’m 60 years old…. The only thing I had to do after release was injections for 7 days for 3 times a day I hated it, had to so I would not get blood clots….. And also a lot of drainage coming out for 12 days… it finally slowed down from private area…. I have my six week follow up Sept 16, 2024…..yeah…..My Surgeon was The best…..hope this helps others Good luck……Ladies…
Ok...who knew this crazy fact about internal stitches?? Am I the only one who was mind blown? 💥
Yes,been there, done that so be careful and yes to the baby steps until those are COMPLETELY gone and don’t make same mistake I made by rushing things and ending up back in hospital 😩
Your dress is adorable. 👍😊
I have very sensitive skin in general so when I can wear my pjs I do... loose pants is the go to for me! Love yoga pants or light sweat pants or such
Speaking of the nerves at the scar sights.
6 MONTHS?! WTH?! I had no idea, but totally makes sense that pulling feeling now.
I am 72
I was told to eat very high protein diet a week before my surgery, I also wore my Life Wave patches 3 days after surgery. Snd God touched me week 5 and I received all my strength back.
Hi, can you give me any tips to recover faster my surgery is in 2 days and I am 70 years old. Kinda worried here because of my age.

I cannot express how much your hysterectomy videos (and I’ve watched them all) have helped me and brought be comfort. I’m 9 days post op and have been miserable. But after watching all your videos have brought me so much hope. You’ll never know how grateful I truly am for you for sharing your experience with us. Thank you!
I’m a week out myself. Taking it slow. Wishing you continued healing. 🩷
Hi im 3 weeks down to my total hysterectomy and i want to know if anyone experienced any kind of spotting during the first 6 weeks. Hope you have recovered well 🌸
I also try walking in my house but feel alot of pressure in the lower abdomen where sutures are.
Aww, did you get the advice ? If not I can help..

I just could NOT believe there were still stitches inside...but now it makes perfect sense! Wish I had known that earlier 😳
Welcome!!! 💗
Pleased to hear you say ‘Life is good’. Congratulations on your release🇦🇺💕
Thanks Jacquelyn!

This was an extremely comforting video. I’m 4 weeks post op and you touched on a lot of the same things I’m feeling. Thank you.
Same here!
Same!
@@jasminemcmahan1962 im scheduling one due to one large fibroid & several small. but nervous! am i doing right thing? i prefer to keep all my body parts but starting to feel the symptoms of fibroids with the bloating, the heaviness, occasional cramping etc
was told I could get that acessa procedure & melt them down… but there’s no guarantee. more won’t grow back. so it’s almost like what’s the point?
might as well remove & keep the ovaries.
one & done hopefully.
How are you doing?
Still absolutely love your hair color. So pretty.
Glad to hear about your progress! You look great!
Thank you so much!
I love your recovery process I had mine 7 weeks ago and still having abdominal cramps and feeling tired I am taking walks but can't do too much.
@nedrachin3869 Same here. 7 weeks post hysterectomy and still recovering. My doctor explained that abdominal pain can result from nerve injury during procedures involving cameras, pipes, and other instruments inserted through incisions in the abdomen. This pain may persist for months or longer.
Im 9 weeks post open abdominal kept mh ovaries but feel like crap. @@manoushahulnair
So happy for you.Looking forward to feel good had my hysterectomy on February 5 this passed Monday as you say baby steps
I'm 2 weeks post and was on the treadmill today! Slow go! Took me an hour to go 2 miles! Def not where i was pre op. I cant wait till I can run again!
Best wishes
I hope you are feeling better! Love and light
hi i too had cough because of the tube in throat during surgery. so i take a deep breath in before i cough softly and this helped reduce preadure in stomach, please try this it really helps.
Thank you so much!
Awww thank you so much for the kind words! Hope you are feeling well and that my videos helped you. Welcome!

Glad to know you are feeling well and recovering nicely. I'm now 10 months post-op and feeling fantastic! Life is back to normal but much better now!
Great to hear things are getting back to normal! You look happy and healthy 👍🏼🥰
Congrats, Renee!!!
I hope that you feel better as your healing is continuing. 🙏🏽❤️
You are BEAUTIFUL and I LOVE your hair!!!! 🥰😀 Thank you for this video also - it's very encouraging seeing how happy you look and sound.🙏🏾❤
Thank you so much!!
We're all so happy to have our Renee back just about top-notch LOL🎉
Now, getting your 10,000 steps in might be a couple of walks with the dogs since you sold your ice cream shop.
Me too!!! I am so happy to be myself again! I'll have to work up to my 10k steps for sure...but I know I can do it (even without the ice cream shop). And BTW....I don't miss being at the shop at all! 😁
@@WelcomeToMyCurls I'm so glad you are living your best life without the ice cream shop - but with your husband and the best two boys on TH-cam.

You look wonderful - glad you are smart enough to take it slow and gradual. Great news.
Oh good to know. Thanks for sharing that!
Thank you so much for documenting your hysterectomy journey and sharing it with us, Renee. Hope I never have to face it, though! Best wishes for your continued recovery. ❤️
Thanks Christine!

Really pleased for you Renne 💖 I know exactly where you're coming from about you're body telling you it isn't 100% 😅 But what you've been through, it really is amazing 🥰 xxx
The adhesive on the patches could be irritating your skin and causing the itchiness.

So glad you’re recovery is doing exceptional🤗! This has been helpful, regarding recovery, having some test done but if needed it will be laparoscopic, so thank you for sharing your journey😍
Yay Renee! Happy you received the green light back into your normal routine! 🎉
Me too!!
Had a bad experience as well, and it's been a struggle.
Did you two have laparoscopic surgery like this lady did? Or old style laparotomy?
Everybody is different 😊this lady was blessed to have a great doctor
What a journey! You've been a real trouper, I gotta say! All the best to you!
Thank you so much!
That's fantastic for you! Hopefully it will happen easily and you won't have night sweats. They suck!
I’m about to have a hysterectomy and the scariest part to me is being put to sleep and not hearing on my own. I wish I could have an epidural.
Wow that's fantastic for you!
🌺Me too! No surgery date yet. Waiting for lab results from my biopsy.
I’m so glad you’ve recovered and had no problems. I really love the earrings you have on in this video where did you get them?
Im on my 2nd week if my abdominal hysterectomy. Can't wait to walk. I'm a walker and can't do that. I have not been in a car since surgery. Not looking forward to it.
Hi! Honestly, I did not go on even a slow short walk until week 5. It just hurt too bad. And riding in the car was horrible for me for a very long time. I was able to drive myself somewhat comfortably around week 4…but it wasn’t until week 6 that riding in the car no longer caused pain. So you’ve got a while to go but you’ll get there 💕
So,so happy for you! You look fantastic ! ❤️🇨🇦🌹
Congratulations yay you! Who knew? I sure didn’t! Btw: you look fabulous Renee! 🙏🏻♥️😎❣️🌞
Not able to wear jeans yet (they had to actually cut her open)
But she's on the mend
And I will show her your video ....you have a new fan...Thank you ,The videos helped her a bunch....
Internal stitches are no fun that's for sure. Sounds like you had to be VERY careful with yours.
Take care. Francesco
Be gentle getting back to regular activities ❤️
oh yes...I certainly will
Feedback... Love your hair this way (FYI).☺ Glad it all went well! So happy you're happy!
Thank you!! I love a cute headband!
So glad you feel better! Love to see it 😊💖
I am almost one week in, had this surgery on June 5th.
I just had mine on 6/7 and I’m the exact same
@@Sheila-p7k8ioh wow, only two days apart.
So happy you are feeling better! Lookin' great also.
Thank you!!
I’m glad to hear your doing so well. I’m assuming your red spots while showering are from the adhesive. Happy spring Renee!!
So happy to see you recovered 👍😎🐕🦺
Thanks so much!
Thank you for your videos. Had the exacts same procedure on Friday. The information is helpful! 😊
Yay!
So happy for you Renee! ❤
Thank you for sharing your journey with us. It has really helped to prepare me for my procedure coming up 6-20-23. I pray that you continue to heal well and get back to your usual self. ❤❤
I'll be thinking of you on the 20th! Best of luck Joyce! 💗
Good luck with your surgery! 🙏... I'm having the same surgery on June 20 also
@@debbiedixon4722it may be too early to ask, but how’s your recovery going?
In comparison no bleeding was great
Hope you’re doing fine now , sorry if I’m being intimate but how it did affect you sex life ?
Thank you, very helpful ❤I can’t wait to be fully recovered I’m on my frist week
Best of wishes to you and a speedy recovery!
@@WelcomeToMyCurls thank you so much for the quick reply and sharing your experience with me. Have a great day!
The doctors usually advise that you do nothing. No lifting, no sweeping. Take short walks but don't overdo. Lots of rest, hot liquids
Hi. I've also had a complete hysterectomy back when I was 36. Im 53 now. We tried HRT but after a hard year of trial and error, plus finding I had heart disease, they stopped my HRT. I actually felt better without the hormones.
Please what is HRT

Oh that's great! Congrats!! Just take it slow....healing takes time. Each week you'll notice improvement and start feeling better.
Ok I had a total hysterectomy 5 weeks ago….my healing and pain nothing I was up and around 4 days after release of hospital 😊 I’m 60 years old….
