1:48 Random tidbit for anybody else that doesnt know, do NOT drive around and display or use the Canadian Red Cross logo, its against the Geneva Convention to have or display any red cross with a white background because of the intent and purpose of what the symbol means. Not nitpicking the video in any way, just happened to notice where they removed it from the side as this was an old military ambulance basically and wanted to bring it up and mention it for others.
when you showed the pop up outlet cylinder. I made an inhuman noise from excitement. as amazing as everything is, this is honestly my favorite.

What a great build, I’ve seen some British people do the same with a Land Rover army field ambulance, think this Humvee is cooler though, they make great vehicles to convert and are built for rough terrain too.

You guys did a great job! But the cut outs of the counter top should be sealed with calk, to prevent water getting into the bare wood! Should be done befor putting in sink and extras!

I am thinking about doing something similar and found a running ambulance but the owner only has an SF97 for it. Do you know anything about titling it secondhand? Also, how thick are the ambulance walls? It doesn’t have the rear doors so I need to manufacture that and I was just curious as you cut windows and such.
Awesome! The walls are about 2inch thick. Yeah most are sold without the rear doors now
@@roamingventures I really appreciate your build threads. Very helpful. If I were to do it, I’m thinking about raising the whole roof up a couple of inches by adding a spacer all around on the sides. Also it is pretty noisey to drive? Can you do 75 mph comfortably now with the 4Spd?
@@daviddouglass208yeah a roof raise would be nice. The noise isn’t that bad since I put sound deadening in the driver cab. Yeah since the transmission swap 75mph is how fast it can go

You built a mostly awesome camper, and decided to make it black - I have to agree, the cool factor is undeniable - but added absolutely no heat insulation to the original army build? Judging by the part where you cut out the windows, the side walls are pretty thin and armies are not known to make these vehicles well insulated.
Is it more practical to rely on AC instead of better insulation? I do not know, those solar panels seems to be quite large... but still seems like an oversight to me, the armchair camper builder YT-consumer expert-wannabe.

How much extra weight did you put into the driver side suspension?
Ver minimal since I removed all the crap they had on that side
How much weight did all that spray liner add to the truck?
It barely added any compared to what I removed
If I had the time and money myself I would build something like this, but make it so it could connect to RV Park hook up and live out of it. I don;t mind tiny places, use to rent a room that was only 6'x10'

El resultado es espectacular pero hay dos cosas que no me encajan. La primera es el alicatado de la ducha; no sé cómo se comportará con el traqueteo del camino. Y la segunda, y fundamental, es que no hay aislamiento. En los días fríos se van a congelar si solamente una chapa les separa de la intemperie.
I’ve put tile in multiple vehicles and haven’t had an issue. This one’s definitely been through a lot and not even a crack on the tile.

Brave, was so glad when the army stopped using them. A very unreliable vehicle, they were the first to break down in convoys. Some of the reserve units are still using them miraculously. JLTV all the way! Can't wait until those start entering government auctions and civilians start getting ahold of them.

People ruining seals with a high-pressure washer always make me cringe. Cleaning things only needs water sprayed from a garden hose nozzle.
We replaced most of the seals afterwards. The truck was covered in mold after sitting for 10years

Raptor paint is nothing more than a truck bed coating. Anti-slip, so to speak. But spray it all over the car? I don't know.....🫤
