The first time I heard of Minka Kelly was in Detroit: Become Human and she did a dang good job cuz I ended up hating her
She was actually known to the troops as the “Lady with the hammer” because she used to take a fricking hammer to the doors of supply stores to literally steal resources to help the troops and no one said a goddamn thing because everyone in authority was terrified of her.
She also invented the pie chart. Seriously.

@@bluepvp900 pie charts help visualize the percentage/proportional data. Its actually very useful idk why you think it does nothing. There are different types of charts for a reason.
@@mw8646 There is a good deal of research indicating that we do not, in fact, understand the proportion represented by slices of pie. There are many other charts and graphs that give a far better understanding of proportions.

For example; I've been friends with Jon for 2 weeks, we constantly make jokes about sending each other into the corner and threaten to give each other a pop on the hand or a kick in the ass when we say something stupid. How she got her name is interesting. Her father inherited a bunch of money, but in the will it was stipulated he had to change his name to Nightingale, which was the last name of the person whose money he inherited. She got her first name cause she was born in Florence, Italy.

I am amazed how Paget took a sentence "Shut it up, now", and made it into 4 interdependent words that both sounded like a sentence and also not.
Despite this being a silly skit, it moved me to tears and caused me to read more about Florence Nightingale. There were enough facts amidst all the silliness to pique my interest. Minka Kelly looked so gorgeous as Florence. Thank you, Comedy Central.

She popularize the Pie chart, and it was already being used in the early 1800s although few but mostly due at that time it was still freshly new. It wasn't until Nightingale used it, and thanks to her achievement in the medical field, made the pie chart more know.

Sputum is a medical term. Fun fact, this was the same time period that the Harriet Tubman video takes place. Both were nurses, both great contributors to females in history, and humanity in general. Both volunteered, but Florence has the safety net of being a rich kid. Both driven badass bosses, changing history for the sake of others, sacrificing their own health and safety. Makes me happy to be a nursing student.

My teenage body and brain really enjoyed Friday Night Lights. The first time I think I saw something that Minka Kelly was in. She was and is gorgeous.
I don't think I've seen her in other comedic roles, but this was great. I wish they'd re-start the show.

This was a great piece, but I wish they had gone a bit more into how Florence changed policies at the hospital that led to reducing the mortality rate substantially. She didn't wait 11 years to recognize the issue was infection, she saw it and actively worked to fix it while she was there.
Also, Paget Brewster is AWESOME!

I've been reading a webtoon known for the name The Lady with a Lamp. I think its inspired by this story. The female lead is a doctor that transmigrated to her old world after dying in a plane crash, so she basically lived 2 lives and the 3rd one is back in her original world
