The narrators are actually not given a script. They’re given a historical person/situation/whatever well in advance, articles on the subject and time to do their own research. That’s why it’s so absurdly rambling. And amazing. And also why the first seasons (and mostly still) they chose comedians to do it, since they have a knack for what’s fun, storytelling and timing.
They did, doesn't anyone understand contracts? How did Quinten Taruntino make Reservoir Dogs? Its an all star cast. He didn't pay them anything, but they all got percentages of profit. The whole movie cost him $100k to make. Comedy Central paid Chapelle back in the 80's. He should have had a better contract.
