It's pretty cool that you took the time to see how this particular car was made I put together I think that was nice because it is unique and the fact that it seems like he did it pretty much himself I don't get the vibe that he drop it off somewhere and some shop did all the work for him it sounds like he did it himself which is freaking amazing 👍

Not a mustang anymore. It’s a Supra. Apparently having an engine that is not 100% manufactured by the OEM changes the entire car. This is the argument I see from people calling the new Supra a BMW.

(a non-interference engine) The 6th gen Celica GT (still drive one) back then at launch in 1994 was about £39k in 2019 money, about the same as an upgraded Tesla Model 3 now with v8-like 0-60 but without the fuel bill

A non-SFI certified seat has no place in a racecar, period. That's why they get so much hate. A basic kirkey + cover are around $300 at your door and not SFI cert, an OMP TRS or TRS-E for thicc bois is $390 and SFI certified. That's why i don't get the kirkey argument.
It's a mustang, so not difficult, just time-consuming. All wiring is simple as fuck usually, just time-consuming. Just have to have a basic understanding of electrical theory. Sensors are sensors so that's easy, and you can just run the tach signal through a multiplier and an electrical pickup to account for the 2 less cylinders.
I dont care what the haters say here but this mustang is more true to the heart of the supra compared to the bmw supra. This suprastang is cooler than the new current supra. 👍

@@adamanderson8149 I mean yeah, if you want a slant 6 from the 60s. Our slow Mustangs have had V6s for a long time, and putting a turbo on a block from the 70s seems way more complicated than a 2JZ, not to mention it wouldn't be CA legal.
I wish I had a slant 6 in my 61 jaguar the slant inline 6 came in the XKSS but I've found way's to make it have higher compression. And yes if you were to beef a 427 cj up and add twin turbos. You could rip past 2500 hp. But if I had to pick between a V6 or an inline 6 to soup up it would be the inline. An I 6 out of a 60s 70s ford can get over 1500 hp far before a V6. Take a look at the 3 cylinder Nissan 1.0 liter with 400 hp it weighs only 40 kg or about 88 lbs. So compare a 3 cylinder then a 4 then a 6. I'd always pick an inline for one reason it's a hell of a lot cheaper to fix up buy etc when you start dumping money into an old Shelby engine. Let's just say my minds been changed with what's going in my convertible
Don't. The 2jz is so long, expensive, and HEAVY that it makes no sense to swap one if an LS will fit. There's a reason so many people in FD use LS engines.
I get that it's cool, but what is this motor doing for you that wouldn't be more easily done with a Ford 4 value 4.6? The 4.6 shorter and likely lighter.
Wow that's a nice swap, but my question is if you can afford all that and not afford a decent back tint window, maybe just maybe you deserve an chin check.
@@zackklapman3569 that would be true if the car had not been done and ready to be filmed, a decent tint job is running 100 to 150 so there is no reason to have a auto zone tint in a car that can smoke most cars on the road.

Any actual mechanic would know how to keep it California legal by swapping sensors and parts that need done. There's no mystery how that works. It's backyard wrenches that can't figure out why things don't pass and it's because they arent swapping the correct sensors and emissions devices over. I made a JDM V4 STi pass emissions(94 impreza USDM sedan shell). Anything can be done with the correct knowledge of your trade....
V4 STi had OBD 1 port, no emissions monitors/ sensors on JDM engines. In ohio they can't run AWD cars on the dyno, only fwd/rwd. So they could only curb idle test it. Passing in California would require other measures, more attention to detail and more hoops to jump through. Its possible, thankfully i don't live in Cali.

Engine replacements include: A new, rebuilt, remanufactured, or used engine of the same make, number of cylinders, and engine family (test group) as the original engine with the original emission controls reinstalled; An engine which matches a configuration offered by the manufacturer for that year, make and model of vehicle, and the appropriate emission controls for the installed engine, and chassis components are present and connected. That engine is not the same make nor is it in a configuration that was offered by Ford. Ford did not sell any straight 6 mustangs in the 90s. Now, Im not saying that you can't get away with driving imaginative swaps. I drove an LS Miata for years, never failed smog. I have a 600ish whp crx that's licensed in California right now, so you can get away with shit, but carb won't cert that car

There are few engines that aren't diesels HEAVIER than a 2JZGTE lol, so yup. A 4.6 would probably be around 160ish lbs lighter than a dressed 2JZGTE.

Why import an engine from Japan to change a bunch of parts to US-spec? Why not just get an engine from the US?
