This is truly amazing and what I want to do with my 65 coupe. It was my dad's and I father son car. We talked about doing all kinds of crazy stuff with it including a 2jz swap before he passed. My dad always said this is going to be your car one day and I want you to make it uniquely yours. Who cares what anyone else things about it. Just make sure its beautiful, you love it, and when people start talking sh*t you better be able to blow the doors off of them and shut them up fast. To me that just screams 2JZ with a big turbo.
Man, you couldn't have made me more enticed. That car's looks are killer, and the smoothness and reliability of a Japanese inline motor... coupled with the later hit of boost ( some of us like it that way instead of a powerband throughout - stems from our past experiences I guess ).
Been literally tossing this idea around in my head for the past couple months to do this exact swap, I'm so glad to see this video and that someone actually did it man! That is an epic car maybe one day I'll have one too!!!
I'd be happy with it too even if it was down needing a new drive train part. This guy has one really nice 1968 Mustang. The engine swap is awesome and the Gulf livery makes it so eye catching.
That thing needs shocks! It is bouncing all over the place in those freeway shots at 3:58. That said, it's a sweet ride. I love seeing unique, home built creations, and there definitely is only one of these!
I live in renton wa and I was stuck behind this guy in traffic on 169 . Couldn't believe it when I saw it. In case you read this I was in the silver s2000 looking hard at your car lol👌🏽
I've got a 66 mustang with a mildly (for now) modified inline six, and it's true. People dig it original or modified. They don't see em lately, it's different, and IF modded it really blows their minds. I've grown to appreciate the original inlines once modded and hooked to a 5 speed like mine is, the same way we all love the drivability of Miatas. It just feels great and you can push it flat out without killing yourself. You get to just run it balls to the walls and hug the roads once you address handling and such. It's a super light car (2400lbs) so it doesn't take much to go from there.
Pretty sure the younger me would talk shit on here or in person but, now I talk slightly longer to land on a conclusion. This was already a six and now it's a badass six. I like that he mentioned the reliability because that's something I recently learned about the 2JZ over the RB26 in my research. Love the sound of the turbo spooling up.
I read the forums of this build, mainly because I was trying to build out the ECU and wiring I would need for mine. I have a 1977 Chevy Vega and a 2jz ge. But the only things I seem to be able to find on it is for swapping into cars that already have 2jzs.
Dope build bro! Makes me want to keep the straight 6 in my 66. Just make it a track car. Put some good suspension, brakes, power steering, poly traction, bigger tires, and just bolt ons. You’ve inspired me bro to do something unique rather than swap a V8 like everyone else!
Bro my v6 is not running for the life of me and is driving me nuts I’ve spent a lot of money on it taking it shop to shop and still not running, it’s sucks
This is the first time I watch this vid but this car is weird Fast & Furious Tokyo Drift already swaped the Mustang with the RB26 Still it's smoke and fun to watch Both this vid and f&f
Sounds different but for some reason I love it it's that right type of weird if this car passes you your gonna be think wtf is that mustang don't sound like that
Import from australia a 4L straight 6 turbo from a Falcon XR6T and keep it 100% ford and those engines can punch out serious HP when modified and still 100% reliable.
can I get more info on this build? what rear end? what tranny and eco? can you show me pics? im doing a 2j in a 67 right now and yours looks super clean.
About the turbo lag, you should try a sequential twin turbo setup. One turbo for the low rpms that fades out as the second turbo kicks in for the high rpms.
Gulf livery, with a japanese 6 cylinder in a first gen stang... abomination definitely fits. I bet it drives awesome, I've always wanted to build a turbo 300.
That's awesome. It's totally unique. Great job on the build and the video. One question though: is it just my eyes or are there 2 different oranges on that car?
The 2jz just sounds like a jet taking off. I actually don't mind hearing that in this mustang, it just works in a weird way
Agreed, if the engine sound was a bit rougher it'd be perfect. Like an old straight 8 30s speedster sorta vibe
Well, the mustang was named after a ww2 plane, so it fits like a glove.
@@philspaghet I WANNA BEAT YOU SO BAD
Aidan red Toyota is reliable can’t rely on the ford and like he said his engine blew up
True
this guy has a great attitude. a real car guy.
Another great car channel. It is never enough :D

Have you started on the build? that would be so badass.
Man, you couldn't have made me more enticed. That car's looks are killer, and the smoothness and reliability of a Japanese inline motor... coupled with the later hit of boost ( some of us like it that way instead of a powerband throughout - stems from our past experiences I guess ).
I would love to know what you've learned, and to create one of my own some day.
The perfect mix between American muscle and JDM.
Been literally tossing this idea around in my head for the past couple months to do this exact swap, I'm so glad to see this video and that someone actually did it man! That is an epic car maybe one day I'll have one too!!!
I love oddball engine swaps, good job man. We are doing an ATS V twin turbo 3.6 into a very clean 89 Camaro
AAwwhh! the hate you must be getting cuz of the 2Jz in it, but what do they know, what a jewel this turned out to be, right?
Yeah, the internet hate can get intense :)
Well you're getting plenty of love here; i love this car. The engine swap, the livery i'm totally a fan
Fuck, I'm mainly a mustang purist, but this is gold. A mustang meant to sound like a plane taking off, like it was named after a P-51.
Two of my favorite car things strapped into one😍
That turbo with 2jz sounds amazing
😍😍😍😍😍😊😊
I had this idea come into my head the other day and had to check if anyone else had done it and this man knocked it out of the park
Just saw you drive by my house in renton. I was outside my house with my daughter looking hard
I'd be happy with it too even if it was down needing a new drive train part. This guy has one really nice 1968 Mustang. The engine swap is awesome and the Gulf livery makes it so eye catching.
This guy did an amazing job on this thing
I love your project, I have a 1966 gt coupe and I wish that one day my toy could have a JZ under the hood 🇵🇷 enjoy it 👍
That thing needs shocks! It is bouncing all over the place in those freeway shots at 3:58. That said, it's a sweet ride. I love seeing unique, home built creations, and there definitely is only one of these!
He needs Konig adjustables, they will give him the holeshot off the line and save him 2pounds on each corner.
1:54-2:08 yes! Keep the straight six alive! Everyone expects you to swap a v8 in 60s American car. I refuse to put a v8 in mine! Great build!
I've been tempted to throw a 1uz in my '67, but boosting it could be expensive >.>
I love I6's and prefer them. I jsut wish there were more options out there. At least for a ford for something more modern there's the Barra.
I live in renton wa and I was stuck behind this guy in traffic on 169 . Couldn't believe it when I saw it. In case you read this I was in the silver s2000 looking hard at your car lol👌🏽
I'm DIGGING this Mustang WITH the 2jz swap in my FAVORITE colorway!!!
This is awesome, Beau! Been following you since you started your nasioc threads
something different!!!!, really cool build man. I love it 😍
masterpiece of personal joy, it really is HIS CAR. love the paint, love the wheels, love the engine... it has its own personality!
This is beautiful. SO considering doing this to my 65.
Love the car man, very original and clean build 👍🏻👍🏻
This is actually a pretty cool build
Outstanding build! I could grab some drinks with this dude and talk car shit all day/night.
I've seen this car on the freeway and it's more beautiful in person. crazy to see the car gain traction after its been a local legend
Love the Converse nice colors
This is actually a pretty sweet build. I think the 2jz is the only jdm engine that would be an acceptable swap. Nice job man.
4.0 i6 barra and keep it ford
Simple. Solid. Beautiful. Powerful.
This is crazy amazing

Why do I get this recommended 2 years later? I needed to see this interesting story the day of it being released.
I really like the paint job. Great job!
It's cool. Different in a good way
Even has the original car gauges lovely
Saw the car at Wekfast 2018 and absolutely fell in love. Amazing Build. Can't wait till I have a 66" Mustang of my own. Gonna LS1 swap it
The Best Of Both Worlds!! NICE!!! Work!!👍🏾✌🏾
mustang with 2jz sounds very cool!
what song in video?
Anything with a 2jz sounds very cool
Sututututututuuuuuuu
Wow! Way better than expected. Props from a self described Mustang guy.
seen this guy in the streets last year he lives about 20 mins from me would love to meet this dude
Zero Fs given car build rock on 🔥🔥🔥

this is the fkn coolest dude ever honestly, good job man that thing is amazing!
I’m in love with this car!
❤️
hahahahaha!!!! LOVE how it says "ABOMINATION" on the engine cover :D Well done sir!!
This is so legit. Legit car guy just trying to attain his goal.
Nice ride 🏎️
Great job, I enjoyed this video
Im a ford guy i like this awesome legendary car legendary engine
Sounds awesome.
LOVE IT! FROM: Poulsbo,WA
Good that he started with a coupe
This dude is fearless to try something different~
This is the first time I watch this vid but this car is weird
Fast & Furious Tokyo Drift already swaped the Mustang with the RB26
Still it's smoke and fun to watch
Both this vid and f&f
this desgne is so cool Respekt
that burnout at the end tho... mmm
Whats the title of the song in the beginning? Everything is perfect in this video!! Much respect!!!!
fun note 2JZ's are still being build ^^ only you need to order everything off the shelf and build it yourself
This is what I want with my 69 coupe. Had it since I was 15 but lost motivation to work on it long ago. I’d like to drop a 3.5L EcoBoost in it.
I love it, great work!.i wish i could find à a good garage here in Kenya to swap my Volkswagen Gti.i salute you 👍👍!!!.
Love it! Maybe this would be right for a f100 that caught my eye?
Now I’m going to want to build one
Tall Raccoon420 we all do
I love it this coming from a Ford v8 lover
How much does it cost to swap a 2j in a mustang?
Is eGarage competing with Petrolicious for best car porn channel?
Pedro Gomes the same thing I was thinking!
Sounds different but for some reason I love it it's that right type of weird if this car passes you your gonna be think wtf is that mustang don't sound like that
This sounds sweet af.
I would take the "2JZ" decal off the front fender, let people do some guessing as to what is inside.
My dream build💗
epic bro, epic
a car guy. i love it. and I am a Mustang guy and love the v8s but I also love little 4cyls n/a and some boosted inline 6 or better yet..inline 5
Great car! You're awesome!
Just saw you on I5 headed toward Leavenworth I imagine. Car is a bad mofo in person too.
well done

Major badass!!👍💪🇱🇷
can I get more info on this build? what rear end? what tranny and eco? can you show me pics? im doing a 2j in a 67 right now and yours looks super clean.
I like the sway 😌
Amazing 🤩
AMAZING!!
"Abomination" on the cover? Great description! ... I cannot say I like it, but I appreciate that it is different
About the turbo lag, you should try a sequential twin turbo setup. One turbo for the low rpms that fades out as the second turbo kicks in for the high rpms.

They came with six cylinders before v8😂
That's awesome. It's totally unique. Great job on the build and the video. One question though: is it just my eyes or are there 2 different oranges on that car?
Between where and where? The stripes are all vinyl, the wheels / grille / splitter are plasti-dipped, so there might be some difference there.
Holy shit this is in Renton? Ile be looking for it on the road now!
This is the next evolution in Mustangs. I owned a 67 and the 302 is too antiquated for the modern road. I was thinking of a 66 6cyl with a Honda VTEC
BEAST VID EVAR
Nice! I am currently looking for an American muscle car that I can throw a RB26 or other JDM engine in it
Just wonder what one in my 2ton IH would do ad far as pulling power and torque. I've actually thought about an om606 in a mustang
Love it !! Dont push it fix it!!!
Why not a barra engine?
Parts are plentiful for a 2j in the US. Opposed to 2-4 week wait times on a silly part like plug wires or valve cover gaskets
Great build. But there is something strange when expect the v8 rumble and instead get a jet engine sound
That’s pretty neat
thats why she spittin
Interesting swap, maybe do a Barra swap on the next one.
