@@blackonblack...9244 oh I know. Trucks are also on a grander scale used by people who don’t need a truck at all. They use it as a status symbol vs towing or hauling. Police gravitate to SUV’s so they can have more equipment that is protected by the elements. The only police vehicles that are a pickup are usually a CSO (community service officer) who does road debris pickup, found bikes, and other traffic related tasks that may require cones or barriers. For state level, DNR will use them as they may need to take dead animals, traps, or equipment as evidence. All in all, if you can’t gut up on a tailgate, you may need to do something that was invented in the 80’s like jogging or something. On another note, the auto industry is junk today. The lifts on trucks only raise the CG and don’t have a real benefit to the user.

If you use you’re truck for truck things you don’t need this, a normal tailgate works and has worked just fine for 80+ years and will continue to work for another 80+ years assuming that we’re still allowed to have trucks that get low gas mileage/run on gas in 80 years. This is just another point of potential failure added to an already unreliable gm pickup.
