Perhaps this episode should have a warning icon ⚠️ ... especially if you have an Airstream. Getting an RV tour from Ronnie with Airstream Nuts & Bolts may prompt too many ideas! Even if you don't have an Airstream, many of the modifications shared in this tour can be done on any RV, like automatic LED cabinet lights and light bathroom switches (both linked below). Ronnie has a 2020 30-foot Airstream Globetrotter, complete with most of the upgrades he does for his customers: on-board Onan 2500 LP generator, hydraulic tongue jack, Starlink port, quick disconnect to replace the outdoor shower head, outdoor Dacron foam in the cushions, thumb locks, and other simple DIY upgrades. He also gives us a quick tour of what's in his truck bed.

I have a 1972 land yacht in my backyard. I bought it about two years ago. I predicted everything would be wrong but I’ve been pleasantly surprised except for the rear bathroom which I’ll have to replace the floor. My plan is to put the airstream on a semi permanent location here in Florida Near the gulf where I can fish I want to have a 20 x 20 outside building with washer and dryer full size bathroom and walk-in closet utilizing the rear bathroom space for a full-size bed. Thank you for the wonderful ideas. I am a retired international airline pilot, and traveled my entire life , so I love to just be still 🙏

I've went with the AC500 from Bluetti instead of all that wiring with the Multi + II. Use if for the RV and can take it home for power outages. And it has a 50a plug for RV's.
Ok, that quick disconnect for the outdoor shower is the bomb. Great idea!
I've seen Ronnies trailer in person this past July, I will say he has put a ton of thought into his upgrades. He help my out a ton with our Flying Cloud.

I stopped at the RV museum on Thursday and saw the Bird. Just wanted to say thank you for allowing the public access to the inside of it! I got a sense of how tight it must have been inside, but it is in amazing condition for it's age!

Why did they retire the Bird to the RV Museum?
@@kellyname5733 The museum said it was donated, then they said it was just on loan, then it was on consignment, so they (museum) don't really know. The ticket guy said he thinks they were just looking for a place to store it for free for the winter, but I'm certain Marc & Trish wouldn't do that!
We own a Lance travel trailer which we really enjoy. No need to upgrade anytime soon to anything else but that Airstream looks awesome.

That genny, along with 800 ah of battery, is a game changer. Also like the hydraulic jack. Looking forward to seeing the Olympics next week. We vacationed near La Push in the summer when I was a kid.
Finally got a few minutes to check this video out, really enjoyed it! You guys always do a fantastic job telling a story. We had the pleasure of spending a week w/ Ronnie & family on our solar install and even though it was 100+ degrees in Alabama the experience was absolutely incredible! He is the ultimate skilled craftsman!!!

My In laws lived in Sequim and we spent a lot of summers adventuring the Olympic peninsula. In the summer Sequim has the Lavender festival and it is a great time. There is one walk to Cape Flattery that we took, and it was a great time.

I hope that you get/got to take the ski lifts at Crystal Mountain Ski Resort up to the top.

There's a nice restaurant in the lodge at the bottom, and stunning views at the top. Especially sunset.
I used to ski there, flying down the slopes, and gaining air time on the ski boards.

Yes, there are some get mods out there, but seeing other Airstream floor plans and how others have ‘updated’ theirs will get your creative juices flowing. We have a 2010 International, over the years and little by little, we have updated and modified ‘her’ to make the space more comfortable for the way we travel. Like you, solar and 16” wheels/Michelins were the first big things we felt were a must.
That StarLink mod was so awesome!
I have the same generator in my truck camper and I LOVE IT! I was on the Beta test program of that generator and it was a long arduous process I went through putting it through its paces in 2019 when I got my test unit.

I was just happy to have a shower and toilet in our rig. We still carry our tent just in case we feel we are getting to comfortable and need that camping experience.
I would love to see more of Olympia. I liked the lighting in the cupboards & in the commode. I thought the mirror was a great idea in the cupboard especially when your not tall enough to see what's back behind something taller. The new mug reminds me of a thimble. Just another case for a truck cap. Wifey say no way, makes it too much to old manny. Well im getting there but the space gained out weighs looks. My tonneau cover arrives on Monday! Lost the battle but won the new F250 Lariat. 45 years of marriage , ive learned where to take a stand. Loved the vids.
We were on board and then I had to wait 12 weeks. And they are crazy expensive now. Back on the fence.
Oh awesome you stopped at Copper Creek restaurant, I live in Puyallup and Rainier is little over an hour away so go there a few times a year and always stop there. Hopefully one of you tried the blackberry milkshake and or blackberry pie, so good. And the bread that comes with entrees has blackberry whipped into the butter.

Copper Creek Restaurant is indeed known for great pie, largely due to the recipes and pie baking expertise of Jennie Z. People would drive up from all over Western Washington just for a slice of her pie. In the original TV show, "Twin Peaks", people may remember how much Agent Cooper enjoyed, and frequently recommended the pie at the Double R Diner. It's said that Jennie's pie at Copper Creek was the inspiration for that running bit in the series. I don't know, but it wouldn't surprise me.

I told Greg about replacing that lock on the outdoor shower with a thumb tab before. It was on the episode where he made a remark about it. As I recall and correct me if I'm wrong. Greg said and I quote "on it" 😆
I have the Dometic stove and saw those Furion grates on another Airstream video; ordered them immediately. Can't imagine cooking w/o them.
I have a 30' Globetrotter and definitely need those grates.
unrelated to this video, but…I’m in Barrie Ontario Canada and was travelling south today on our major highway 400….going north was a Bird just like yours…I had to take a second look to make sure it hadn’t escaped from the RV museum

YES! Start now however you can.Where we are now is not how we started. Also understand that I own and operate an Airstream Upfitter business. So our Airstream is Rolling display of what is possible and not what everyone needs to travel successfully.

If you’re having trouble finding “Cooper” Creek Inn in Ashford, WA, it’s because it’s actually “Copper” Creek Inn. Ashford doesn’t offer much, but that place is a highlight.

That guy has some skills!!! I liked the idea of replacing the locks on the fresh water, stabilizers and outdoor shower. What’s the trick to removing the old locks…and what was used to replace? I’ve seen the Camco versions on AZ.
Very simple. Just press the old locks out and snap the new ones in. It took some finagling, but you'll get it.

When your in Indiana you need to check out George Rogers Clark National Historical Park in Southwest Indiana. It has the largest national monument outside of Washington DC. And also in the same town is the 6th president of the United States William Henry Harrison home(Grouseland) which just went through a million dollar plus renovation.

Wow... I have a 20' Flying Cloud, that I really enjoy. This video was like massive overload on info. I am not saying that as a complaint just fact. I can't even imagine how much it would cost to upgrade my trailer to anywhere close to that. Interesting what all is out there.
When you 2 change your Airstream it be interesting when you sell your old one dose the value hold up if you get most of what you paid for it that is why I really like the Airstream brand it's holds its value

With the Onan so far upfront, the tongue weight has to be incredible. Not to mention, all that stuff - So. Much. Money. Is that really camping? The slide out for the truck - so you can take more stuff? And more lithium? What did he leave at home?
