    ℹ️ About the Episode:
In this episode, the "Project Kill" list starts with the most important repair: fixing the fresh water tank valve. Then we add the Smart Plug for our Starlink cable, replace our water heater switches, add an Easy Touch thermostat, install propane sensors, make a storage shelf above the propane tanks, fix our rock guard mounts, repair our shower leak (finally!), and replace our chrome rub rail. And as icing on the cake, Caleb makes a new latch for our propane cover. Somehow, we still had time to visit Ronnie's new property and see the future 6,200-square-foot Airstream Nuts & Bolts facility. If you're an Airstream owner and looking for off-grid solutions or some of the mods you've seen on KYD, check out his website and add your name to his email list to get updates on the grand opening.

Thank you!! took our new to us 2019 19cb for a shake down this past week. Literally had the upper bathroom cabinet fall off wall. In processing the situation my husband comes out with well Mark and trish said “mind the dip” We both burst out laughing and tucked the cabinet away for rest of trip and had the best trip ever! Sometimes its all about the attitude and not the bad situation thank you

Trish nailed it when she said even small mods and repairs reinvigorate you and the connection to your current rig. I just worked on my class c all weekend and I’m so excited to get out and enjoy it this year. Be safe, great video and super editing as always.

Kaleb totally added to this video with the Applause Machine. It was perfect. Ronnie does such a great job. I am glad to see he has found his passion and it allows him to make a good life for himself and his family. Such nice peeps. I would love to purchase a paper template of the "propane" board for storage. What a great idea.

We ran into Ronnie and family in Walmart in Post Falls,
Idaho, last summer. My husband was wearing his Airstream t-shirt and Ronnie looked up and said “We have an Airstream, too.” Then a couple weeks later we were surprised to see him on a KYD episode in western Washington…….and here he is again!

A Kubota tractor with a 5 or 6' mower attachment is how my father had us kids fighting over who got to mow the lawn! LMAO! Of course, there was a ranch that we lived on and why we had the tractor. But we loved to mow the lawn. Only took maybe 7 or 8 minutes to do the whole lawn. It took us just as long if we had to change the attachment.

It's been our fav rig to date. Some people expect no repairs, but most of the issues are truly from wear and tear. We're pretty hard on our gear. The fit and finish of Airstream do in fact hold up to life. Plumbing, axles, etc is the same in all RVs. The Bungaslow had good progress this week, but still a long way to go. We should have GC'd it ourselves. Lots to share.

Seriously, I just want to take my little 15’ travel trailer from Ontario down to his place and say “just have at it” and let him do whatever fixes/mods he wants. This was awesome. Loved every minute, essentially none of these mods would work on my teeny tiny trailer but I will keep dreaming.
    Thanks for an awesome video!

Your timing was perfect. I've had the switches for the water heater mod for a year and balked because I wasn't sure where to get the ground. OMG! Genius! There is one caution of this hack. IF you're not connected to shore power, the light still lights even though the water heater is not really on. (on 120 vac.) BUT that's not a big deal for me because I'm worried about leaving it on accidentally, not whether I have hot water. (There is a circuit board that can be added to solve that, but I'm not bothering). Thank You Ronnie! Thank you KYD!

Our second appointment in 3 years. First was the trailer lift. This was a upgrade Victron 3000 and Lithium service. We pulled in right after you guys left. Ruth and I can sure attest to the prayers looking North from Florida and playing 1-800 dial a prayer for the appointment slot! Ronnie did a outstanding job on our 30 ft Trailer it was worth the wait ( two years ) to get it in. Exciting to see the farm- Did you say WTHeck when you were driving in those camp roads. Then looking at the back in up that hill. We did!

On the Mopeka sensors I find it helpful to label the sensors themselves the same as you have in the app. I use “Driver” and “Passenger” so that when you have that one time happen that you have to take and fill both at the same time you know which is which and don’t have to play a guessing game. Don’t ask me how I know 😂

Great upgrades! I had the mopeka, got it in 2016, loved the concept but back then it required a spacer under the tanks and my rig was old enough that there wasn't enough circumference in the base for the holder to fit, also the clips just didn't stay on for me. Glad to see they made the sensors thinner because I loved being able to check the levels from inside and my phone.

The Victron Multi Control is a great addition to the Touch 50. And now there is a way to get SMS as well as email notifications of alarms from your Victron system that notify you when you have a power failure no matter where you are. The latest firmware for your system is required but it's easy and free. The Mulit Control is still useful for easy local monitoring of your Victron system but it's now even easier to get notifications. We're currently visiting South Korea and I received notifications that my RV had lost power. I kept an eye on it and was relieved when power was restored a couple of hours later. We also have the Micro Touch thermostat and love being able to monitor and alter the settings from all over the world. After all, it's like leaving your child at home while you travel. 😄

    • @stuartrogel9117
      @stuartrogel9117 ปีที่แล้ว

Marc & Ben, have you experienced any conflicts between the Touch 50 and the Multi Control? Does one override the other? Do you have to delegate certain tasks to the Multi Control? Or do both monitors work seamlessly?

great idea for the water heater switch, if you have an atwood! our suburban does not have the relay and low voltage switch to control the 120Vac to the water heater. the only switch on the suburban heater is the tiny switch behind the gas regulator on the front of the heater. adding a relay and low voltage switch would be ideal

Initially thought the episode was going to be very Airstream-centric. Not that I don't like Airstream, but I don't have one. At least now. But...the Micro-Air-Thermostat is a Godsend. I have struggled with my Dometic thermostat since I bought the trailer five years ago. This looks like a great solution. I also ordered the propane sensors. Always been a guessing game solved only by removing the tank cover, loosening the bracket, and lifting the tanks. Had a friend sleeping in the trailer one November (in MN) and we ran out. He was cold. Thanks for the valuable tips.
