Thanks Joe. Recently you installed the Fiamma heavy duty bike rack on our 2016 International. The bikes obstruct the camper's taillights which is a safety concern. I'm thinking about installing auxiliary taillights using the 4-flat pin connection in tandem with the 7-round plug for the Airstream. Do you have any recommendations or comments? Any input you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
Dometic makes their own smart start device for about $300. Does it work better on Dometic equipment than the MicroAir or SoftStartRV brands? I currently have a SoftStartRV model on a 13,500 BTU heat pump, but I find it still pulls a little more than 2,000 watts and around 16 amps with fridge running. Startup spike at about 19 amps. More than you can mooch dock on a 15 amp circuit.
The Microair is fully manufactured in the USA. I am sure they are all made in very similar ways. th-cam.com/video/qqagK_m_9C4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Kk8chXfnFPnBZfCJ&t=35
If these are "Must haves upgrades for your Airstream". Why doesn't Airstream have them included? Airstream is supposedly a premium product that you are telling me is incomplete...
Not incomplete in any sense of the word. However, some of these upgrades only apply to specific types of RVers. Someone who doesn't ride a bike, doesn't need a bike rack, right?
Hey Joe , as a 10year owner of an Airstream. I don’t agree with all off your “must haves” . With proper care my deep cycle batteries can go 5-7years. That’s disconnecting the ground when not in use . It’s the best kept secret. Also by removing the lead batteries from the hitch , you need to pay close attention to weight shift. Especially if your loading the very back with E-bikes. That could be as much as 100lbs . The 3” lift ? Raise center of gravity? Nope. Only good if you really take your airstream off-road . The bike rack maybe. But traveling , people need to be careful. Thieves cut locks in no time. I’ve had it happen to friends. . Bikes are better in the bed of the truck or inside the trailer when stopped and away.
thank you for your insight and opinion. While there is truth to your statement. Some upgrades are meant for those who go off the beaten path. Everyone uses their Airstream differently. We strive to make content for all types of RVers. Thank you for supporting and watching!
Thanks Joe, love the ebike idea

Hi
What is Micro air easy start? How can use
Airstream needs to make soft starts an option from the factory. And a suspension that can raise and lower for highway mode or off road mode.
Great suggestions.

Seems like the unit should come with an easy start.
