I’ve been seeking a male mentor since I was 6 years old and realized that my parents were more interested in escaping reality than guiding me. Very grateful that Jordan Peterson has taken on the challenge of filling this role for so many people.

@@JD-mu4ei I'm not mocking anyone. Much of what the man says has merit. However, you cannot dismiss or talk to people you hold less virtuous or imply total moral corruption when assuming one's behaviors are a constant testimony to their character or lack of. Behaviors are not an identity. It's hardly a secret that alcohol, drugs, money etc influence our behaviors everyday.

I take so long getting to know people Their real personality always reveals itself bit by bit, but it can take a few months. Rushing into relationships, is something I never understood. You never know who you're really talking to sometimes, and if you keep it surface level, zero intimacy, it's easy to run.
Jordan's point about those types always in a rush, makes so much sense. Everything he says blows my mind. How he said that "fun guys," or short term ones are always in that dark triad?! Wow. People used to call me "prude" for not "hooking up" with people. I'm thankful now for my shyness.
I also am really thinking about what he said about online trolls being psychopaths, like what?!!! I never considered that. Their comments are so cruel, but often thousands of likes. I guess subconsciously I thought, maybe they have a point. Now, I have another new perspective.

No one understands the gravity of this abuse until they themselves have gone through it. You can explain events perfectly but you simply cannot relay in words the sheer brutality that is inflicted mentally and emotionally. The physical stuff meant nothing, It was actually a relief to be able to see proof through the bruises. But psychologically.. its a pit of hell I wouldn't wish upon anyone.

He was a wonderful uni prof in Toronto. Then the Left "victim ideology; everyone gets a trophy" took over and trashed him and anyone who tried to stand up and say No. Government policy is to not hire white males or females unless no DEI hire is available. This was the beginnings of the agenda in mid 1990's, having worked in HR.
JP stood up for boys and men, stood up for women and withstood Trudeau's contemptuous railroading.
Trudeau has made Canada one big WEF testing ground and as a nation, we are lost, depressed and as poor as in the Great Depression.

Many people think emotional abuse is not as "bad" as physical abuse. This is false. Having lived through both as a child, I believe ALL abuse is emotional abuse. If someone accidentally hurts you in a physical way, and they sincerely apologize and feel remorse, it is not abuse. Once the injury heals, it's all good, because you know they didn't intend harm. Physical abuse is a type of emotional abuse, not a higher category. All abuse is terrible and long-lasting, because you know the abuser had power over you and derived satisfaction from your suffering.

The part about psychopaths testing you and finding out how you tick -- That's exactly how I tend to evade them. I'm very agreeable on the surface (and it's often genuine, I'm not necessarily pretending). But I tend to reevaluate conversations and in that I am VERY suspicious and disagreeable. I think it leads them down the wrong paths of how to manipulate me, then I can tell who the liars are because they misjudged my gullibility and left loopholes.
Sure it's deceptive, but I think being honest and open with people you don't know is the dumbest and most dangerous thing you can do in life. I did grow up around a lot of abuse, manipulation and cruelty though so I've lost the naivety to assume everyone I meet is good and safe.

I've been through heck and back in my life, but Brother left me with PTSD. It has taken more than two years to surface.
No, Im not the same and never will be. I've learned so much that I wish I had learned before kindergarten from his plotted destruction of me, my home, my farm, my name ... and left me with damage that I still haven't been able, financially or physically, to repair.

Very hard to move on esp if they keep trying to contact you. It’s a life’s work to not let them “win” their evil game by letting them keep intruding into your mind, body, life. My way is to dismiss immediately any thought of them. They fear being forgotten/abandoned just what they did to me and worse. The thought of them is an evil thought/feeling so I replace it with a truly good thought/feeling.

Brother please tell me how you did so

    • @richardredeemed
      @richardredeemed 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@rossalinii9089 difficult for me to summarize in one comment, but I’d recommend to start by reading the Bible and the works of the early Church fathers. The Christian faith presents an opportunity for someone living a lifestyle of iniquity to repent, atone and receive forgiveness for their misdeeds.
I have heard Jordan Peterson stress the need for a traumatized person to develop an objectively rigid sense of morals that can help them distinguish good from evil and evil from good. Christian morality offers these to all who are willing to put their faith into it, but I’ve found that it’s especially important for someone who has been deeply traumatized by malevolence (BPD develops from being abused/neglected by caregivers in childhood).
People who meet the diagnostic criteria for BPD are unwilling to maintain stable relationships due to difficulties with emotional regulation and a deep fear of abandonment stemming from previous traumatic experiences. As a trauma response, they develop maladaptive habits like over the top, obsessive fawning and people pleasing/attention seeking behaviours as they require external sources of self esteem supply and become codependent to the people they form attachments to.
Anyone who has these BPD traits (or has been in a relationship with someone else who has) knows from experience that this inevitably leads to the accumulation of resentment and eventually a rather tumultuous implosion that can end up traumatizing one or more parties involved.
This is why the redeeming power of Christ’s sacrifice is vital for breaking these codependency patterns. He will never abandon His beloved children made in the image of God. All He asks for in return is for us to pick up our cross by putting our best foot forward everyday walking, talking, living and breathing the word and will of God.
Instead of idealizing other people (who are also all flawed in their own ways) or looking to pleasure seeking vices that temporarily gratify the desires of the flesh, exercise your free will as an autonomous human individual to become a vessel of truth, light and purpose turn away from idolatry, sin and self contempt.
Whenever you find yourself drifting, keep finding your way back to the straight and narrow path… no matter how many times it takes.
Take stock of your blessings, no matter how small or how few of them you may feel like you have… make a habit of cherishing them and taking time to admire the beauty in the mundane aspects of everyday life… walks in the park, sunrises/sunsets, animals/wildlife, something that brought you joy when you were young… the more you do, the more you’ll notice God’s grace at work.
      May peace be with you.
