First thing you do is swap out 6 of the 9 speakers with 4 ohm aftermarket, super easy and will run you $300. Then you will have tweeters, and a decent system. Leave the sub and the two knee speakers alone.
@@craigsharpe553 2 on the top, but there's 4" in the outside knee panels, as well. MB Quart makes a set of 6.5's for that spot with full enclosures. I'd bet those would make a difference.
Music sounds great, and easily the best JL alpine audio review on youtube I've seen so far. It would be perfect if there was a review with the doors down and tops off. I haven't seen one on youtube yet, which seems to be an important review to do. Also, I think the second set of speakers are located by the knees. Correct me if I'm wrong, as you can see the enclosure below.
I believe your speaker location are slightly off. 2 speakers on upper dash, 2 speakers lower dash. 4 speakers on the sound bar, then finally the rear subwoofer.
@DailyMotor I have a 2022 Gladiator Mojave with the 9 speakers sound system, What would you add or replace to have a good quality sound system (speakers, subwoofer, Amp,...) I'm wondering if those speaker and subwoofer could work better with a better amplifier. What's your recommendation?
That about sums it up. It's probably loud enough for most people with the windows up. But once you start letting air in and really cranking it, it mushrooms out. You need at least 1000 watts RMS headroom to cut through. And sound quality-wise, it's not like it lacks highs or lows, really; it just lacks impact.
With my 2004 TJ the dash was easy to remove and the radio wasn't considered to be an infotainment system therefore replacing the garbage factory offerings with something better from the aftermarket was easier. Now they have everything wired into the radio and you'd need a whole plethora of little black boxes to make everything work nice together with aftermarket amps. I think maybe Jeep thinks they can sell more premium audio packages by offering the Alpine name but its not really any better than a lot of Bose car audio offerings. With all that in mind, I think the factory Alpine system sounds pretty good but nothing is really going to sound great at speed in a Wrangler without heaps of amplification. I had two amps, components and 30lbs worth of subwoofer in my 04 and you could barely hear it at highway speeds/roof off.
I don’t know if there’s a difference between 2021 and 2023 for sound quality in the Alpine Premium systems. I love the sound in my 2023 Wrangler JL. It sounds way better than I would expect for a Jeep. My 2019 Jeep, I had to upgrade the speakers which I did with Rockford Fosgate speakers and added a 10” sub. That all sounded really good without adding an amp beyond the stock head unit without bells and whistles. The Alpine system sounds much better. I’d like to have seen how much of an improvement the proper amp would’ve given to the 2019, but I only had it for 8 months before deciding to upgrade to 4 doors.

no it actually gets really loud, too loud for me especially with the speed sensitive audio sometimes it will blow your ears out.
Can you adjust bass and have it set up while using Apple CarPlay music?
3 band EQ. No adjustments for sub, though.
