- 'Don't do that Joe, don't do THAT.' At the 7:40 mark, watch as Arkansas legend Joe Falcon -- to the disappointment of announcers -- tries to pump up the crowd in the 3000m final at the 1988 NCAA indoor track and field championship. Falcon -- who won the mile at this event -- worked himself from last place to first, showing off his incredible kick.

still better camera quality than flotrack
That commentator was pissed😂 I loved it. Joe is a legend
That was cold as fuck, love the announcer's tears
Announcer: "I hate to see him do that." Followed by Falcon completely obliterating the race. The man was dead silent by the end of the race.
It sounded like Marty Liquori. Falcon sure put him in his place with that last lap!🤣
The last two laps gave me goosebumps. Surprised I’ve never heard of this man, but three straight videos of him have me thinking this guy was an animal in his prime.
But he failed to make the Olympics. Watch the '88 and '92 Olympic Trials.
Woo pig sooie
The pure balls on Falcon for this... legendary.
Im now a joe falcon fan
Joe was looking SO relaxed early on, almost jogging.
Chills dude, he was hungry for pain
That announcer is so soft lmao
Never seen a more colorful track than this one
Is the a Ron Warhurst "Very Nice" in the first minute?
Joe really T’d me up b4 my run😂 def going in the run motiv playlist
This guy’s now my neighbor
how competitive is his lawn game?
@@quandt4847 very competitive, we race every Saturday morning
A good announcer would lean into the emotion and get more fired up. This announcer was trying to put out a fire.
I never lost any high school 1600 m races down the stretch my last 2 years. One time I did hear someone closing in on me and I had to push hard to win. That's when I knew Joe would probable end up a better runner than Chris Zinn. Never could beat that kid in Cross Country even if I scared him on the track.
Best part was the first 2 minutes with no commentary.
I thought the same thing.
Exactly!
On a wooden track aka the boards
I hope you have the women's races with Vicki Huber and other racers.
The “announcer” was more of a legend than joe falcon. Ever heard of marty liquori? #1 in the world in the mile. #1 in the world in the 5k in 1971 and 1977.
is this track wooden?
Yes
I personally would never do what Falcon did. Very uncool and unsportsman conduct.
No one asked
Why not? If you got the cards why not play them? Moe did the same thing in the 2017 world championships in the middle of his 100000 race, so long as he’s not a dick ab it afterwards it’s fine😂
I took it as him just getting the home crowd into it. Doesn’t matter. He backed it up and blew them away on the last lap.
The track looks like wood lol
it is
First
The announcer, Marty Liquori, was one of Americas greatest 1500m/Mile runners. He would never have hotdogged in a track race. That's a loser move. I see now why Falcon never achieved anything significant on the world-level.
It’s college champs not world champs. If you’re the best, go ahead and live a little. If he would have gotten sniped then lesson learned. Let’s not cry about a race from 25+ years ago
Going to go upload some of the Liquori races now, too. Don't have 'em all but have a few.

@@NCAAChampionships I love it
Nice try...Karen.
A great race, but a poor display of sportsmanship.
Joe was cocky before he was good.
