Okay NCAA, digging in the vault for this one.
We love it
Not easy to find these, but love it when we can.
I’ve run on a old style wooden track at simplot games and it is wayyy harder to run fast on them
Me too. Remember the 'spring" in the boards and that sound? The good 'ole days.
@@russs3001 yeah the times that were run on that track would’ve easily been several seconds faster on a regular track, like I get the whole historical vibe it brings, but for a literal world class meet for high schoolers, they should do it on a decent track
Never imagined an indoor track would look like a circus. NCAA, please post more of these types of videos!
I think it's a 160m track too
@@johncho8393 yeah it is. They start 9 meters back from the line so it’s technically a mile instead of 1600 meters.
imagine if we heard
DROWNING IN OXYGEN
Love watching these. Thanks for uploading
running it back FAR for this one
I was at this race as a teenager. Remember Falcon making it look so easy
160 meter track? So cool.
Thats the easiest sub four I've ever witnessed
gotta bring back the tuxes for meet officials lmao
Great job ncaa love these old races
Any idea what material this track is made from?
wood
Internet explorer just uploaded this
Falcon like the bird of prey!
Three of the eight were from the best conference, The Southwest Conference.
Sounds like they’re running on wood💀
they are lol
I can see why they bumped this onto youtube, almost every video taken from this era is horse shit quality-wise, but this isnt. Anybody know what camera was used innthis recording, and why it wasnt broadly adopted around the world at the time?
Going back to my day.😁. Loved watching Joe.
Great seeing this posted. I've run on this track and I was in the stands for this meet. Brings back great memories!

Lol Robin Van Halen!

What type of surface was this track?
