So inspiring! Give this announcer a job doing this! He clearly knows and cares more about it than most of the talking heads at meets these days. This was a wonderful race. Everyone ran great but the 1st five runners ran FANTASTIC times. However, the camera was only on Grant for the last 2 laps. Those of us who love to see great distance running strategy and competition would have liked to see how the other runners finished.
I agree. I think the camera should have backed out and showed the top 4-5 runners on the final laps more. And still capture the last 10 seconds of Fisher's finish.
US, Canadian and British indoor men's 5k records all under 13min! Amazing!! Great to see all of the club members celebrating together with camraderie at the end.
Dave Moorcroft's race was OUTDOORS. Loved the excitement from the announcer, but the camera work was terrible. I actually want to see the race, not just the leader. It's a very small track, why can't we get a little bit of both?

Wow that pace was surreal. And what a finish.. it really looked like he will be able to go even higher in pace and finish tiny bit slower and go 12.45 with just changing pace with no extra training. Super smooth toe running. Or for most people me including... That was sprinting for 12 minutes !
In Jr high we would have two 10 minute runs a year in gym class and I think it took something like 26 or 27 laps to make a mile. Every run my goal was to hit at least 50 laps and my first 3 I was always around 53-55 laps. For my last one.. I wanted to be the first one at my school to hit 60 laps.. so that meant getting 6 laps every minute and I will tell you right now.. you need to be going all out every minute to hit 6 laps every single time. Rupp's record was the American Indoor Record. Fisher just missed Lagat's overall American record of 12:53.60. And he was only a few seconds off Bekele's World Indoor Record of 12:49.60.
What a race! Fisher set himself up for a fast finish, so smooth.. I thought Atkin was going to drop out after getting in Mo’s way as he dropped back but he didn’t! Held on and beat Mantz and others. My only complain is the video not panning out and showing Scott and Mo finishing strong.
