    Awesome, I literally just assembled an absolute ton of those pipes I got cheap with Imperium Magazine and today started on the stairs kit I'd had lying about for ages. Although 2 things -
    1. Instead of cutting a long pipe section in half you can also glue together two of the right angled sections which when glued together properly reach the exact same height. Ideally though I used two of the asymmetric ones as this means you can tuck them under the stairs a bit while still maintaining enough support to keep it free standing. If you use the two different 90 degree bends you'd probs have to point it away from the stairs to maintain balance and that would limit where you could put walkways attaching to the landing.
    2. Some of the landing platform bits don't have the right height to do this. Perhaps ironically the one with the manhole cover for a pipe going down below it is the wrong height unless you cut down your supporting pipe section.

      Hey! Yes, you are absolutely correct with number 1. However, I’d already used all those sections to make modular pipes. But it would totally work.
      On 2, you’re also correct. This only really works on the stairs landings. Most of the other platforms have a bit underneath you need to shave off. Especially those ones with the hatch.
      Good spot on all of this!!

      @@thestateofplay2023 no worries! Thanks for the video I'd had kinda hobby paralysis with this kit because I just wasn't sure how to assemble it best or what to glue together but the stairs being free standing modular parts makes it less stress.
      On also I noticed if you stack two columns and put the platform on top, a whole straight pipe section also reached exactly so you could make a big free standing double-height platform with 4 pipe bits and either some of the provided platform bits or just whatever you had lying about, and it should line up perfectly.

      Yes, these kits are engineered really nicely with heights so much of the stuff matches with the rest. Enjoy playing with it - it’s great fun!

      @@thestateofplay2023 yeah, well just figured another one that lets me make a support for large platforms without having weird pipes that go nowhere. It's handy that almost all recent 40K terrain has connections somewhere for those pipes.

    Fantastic video and clear instructions. I've been really enjoying your ZM terrain videos.
    Gonna be coming back to reference them when I get on with some of my ZM terrain down the line.
    Thank you for your work and inspiration, carry on being awesome and take care ;)

    The gang stronghold kit comes with some of those tab pieces to fill in the fronts of the walls. I almost saved them but in the end I glued them into place…yesterday. Oh well guess I need to buy some more.

      Yeah I glued most of the gang stronghold into place as it’s the least Modular set they make. Weirdly. 🤷🏼‍♂️

      @@thestateofplay2023 no way. Thank you very much. I'm currently trying to solve the double double door mystery.

    • @thestateofplay2023
      @thestateofplay2023  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Ah! Double doors on top of each other for double height? Try this, it might help. Make one door as normal but trim those little tabs off the top. And sand the top flat.
      Then take two sides of a second door (the posts) and remove all the plastic from the inside of the sliding part. A dremel helps. These parts then actually glue to the top of the first door in a mirror image. And fit quite well. Take a second door and also clip of the tabs and sand. Glue the two doors together top to top so one is upside down and it should slide in. You may need to fiddle with how much you remove from the inside of the two top door posts. Leaving the bottoms door posts intact stops it from wobbling around. And the top just becomes a free slider.

      @The State of Play niiice. Very helpful. I'm concerned with how much gap there will be between the door frame and the platform/wallway above. Is it OK if I give u a shout out on my door way video?

    • @thestateofplay2023
      @thestateofplay2023  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You should be ok on the heights. The one thing these kits have is well thought out measurements.
      I always blu Tack first to test out before glue. The hobby saviour!
      By all means please shout out. It would be my pleasure to be mentioned on your channel!

    • @thestateofplay2023
      @thestateofplay2023  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      But I literally showed how to do it in the video. You cut a small length of sprue (about 2cm) and glue it under the top stairs. Pause the video when I show the stairs sideways. 👍🏼
