Due to popular request, here is the list of mods used in the video: - LUT Relight Average (00:00-08:36) - LUT Relight Average brightness enhanced (08:37-24:41) - Ultimate Eye Candy - Clouds and Fog Toggler - Shadow Strength Adjuster - Sharp Textures - No Radioactive Desert And More - Sun Shafts I understand most watchers find the video too dark. I'll make adjustments for next video :) Also, please note that the second half of the video uses a brighter LUT.
I consider it still no mod because its only graphic mod so keep them if you want its doesnt change the gameplay style like traffic mod or anything like that
Yet another wonderful video from you! That interchange is beautiful, and I was hooked by seeing it in the thumbnail. I love the way that the interchange loops around and integrate with the surrounding buildings. I think that the addition of the graphical mods is perfectly reasonable, especially since it does not even effect gameplay. I would recommend increasing the brightness, though, since it is a bit dark as it is. I look forward to your next video!
And yeah, you're rignt, I'm giving up recreate this, had a tons of pain for ep8 and 9, this is just a show stopper for me. But I think I will just try to repeat all the steps on a different map with some different layouts, so I can follow but I don't have to be exact. So anyway thanks for inspiration)
I thought I would never finish episode 8 and 9. (Recreating this city) Episode 10 is ten times harder to recreate and it's in the dark with a nighttime build. Genius decision. I know. I think Target just wants us to know he is the Master builder. But do not try and recreate his city. It's " Just For Show". He doesn't want you to recreate his city! Trust me!! But I think he will eventually get better making video for subs that try and recreate his city. Right now he is just building for his casual viewers. This city is super challenging to recreate. Finishing episode 10 is gòing to be a.nightmare!! I keep hanging in there because Target is the best. But seems impossible at times.
I'll jump on the bandwagon and say I don't like the LUT. I am not opposed to using a graphical enhancement mod on an unmodded series, just didn't like the one you chose. You have to remember that youtube makes videos darker, so a bright and clear LUT would be best for a youtube video. Also didn't help that it was night time for most of the video. As for the new interchange, all I can say is it's very confusing but looks like it might do a good job of spreading traffic out better. But I feel like it doesn't have enough entrances into the first part of the city and you'll have a lot of traffic buildups on that one entrance that ties into the small roads eventually.
These highway interchanges take me back to the incredible junctions from the first season. Bravo! if I'm right the central part is just another trumpet interchange but equipped with extra two pairs of on-ramps to and out of the low-res area and another pair in and out of the public transport hub/downtown area, and additionally the main avenue of the residential area is extended o the transport hub as well.
There's so much I love about your videos, but my top 3 in no particular order: Your interchanges, your editing prowess (the new camera pans during the time lapse are pure eye candy) up to and including cutting transitions when ads are coming, and finally your voice/humor. You're so calm, and your humor so dry - it's pure joy to watch your stuff.
Was trying a similar layout in the past episodes on my map and I spent two nights to replicate the double trumpet as it’s really hard to terraform smoothly for the bridge. After this challenge I waited for few days for a new episode to see what new layout I can follow, until I watched this episode I am going to give up... the highway interchange is incredible and yet too hard for me.. anyway I enjoyed watching every episode so much, thank you
I'm blown away by how much you seem to have learned about the game since season one. Your understanding of how to apply the different elements of interchanges and public transit in general is so much deeper than it was the first time around. It's pretty mindblowing!
Keep building more of these massive interchanges/infrastructure. It's what you do best, and sets you apart from other cs youtubers, being able to do those without mods.
Also, it would be nice to focus more on large, open public spaces such as custom parks and public transport interchanges, and less on densely-zoned areas.
@@krasnamerah1926 Yes, I have seen it and I also follow imperatur, he is in my list of top cs youtubers. What makes target's interchange designs unique (and better, in my opinion) is their symmetry and clean design.
Was waiting for those junctions. Look much nicer than what I was expecting, and included turnaround spots which people tend to forget! Also like the fact you think about pedestrian access in your designs!
Your series is unbelievable! I have watched the whole thing in one afternoon and started do build a new city right away. Thank you so much for your work and your creative tips. Also, since this is hardly ever addressed, you can be proud of your English as a non-native speaker. Great work.
Great Vid t4rget, the highway design is mind-blowing! You should specify that you have used mods only for improving lighting, as there are haters out there that may label you as a clickbaiter... Edit: Keep the mods btw!
It might be just the quarantine talking but I'm off to sign up for a STEAM acct and start my own city ... I'll have to ask my grandkids if they play on STEAM! Thank you for the great game play and a solid intro to Cities: Skylines.
This LUT is a little dark. But the interchange is beautiful. ♥ But IT cluster and toursim specialize all the buildings inside the interchange. That'll look more pretty.
This was inspiring. It never really occurred to me that I was doing it wrong by trying to fix problems here and there. I have 81 tiles and unlimited outside connections. I can simply pause the game and rebuild the network to suit my city. So much more elegant than trying to patch bits and pieces.
That intersection in Bangkok was insane. Stayed in Baiyoke Sky Hotel and had a insane view over the city and that intersection together with the rest of the city from the 84th floor.
As an avid listener to instrumental musics, I can say that you have a very good taste for music :D Want you to keep the mods installed but a slightly more vivid LUT or whatever it is called. Great content as always!
I gave up trying to replicate you step by step a couple series's ago - Instead, I watch your videos and time-lapses and study your techniques and gain inspiration. It is more satisfying to learn how to fish on my own, so to speak. Thanks for another great episode!
Your video quality keeps getting higher with each new one, great content. I really enjoy the time-lapse to explanation of the time-lapse flow of the video.
I think that the inside of that spaghetti monster screams for some super-high IT buildings. Would look awesome. I really like the interchange around the rock formation.
Thank you for another great episode. You did a big work. Make your map more bright, because now it's dark or get back to vanilla) Make our mayr fire summoner again! :D
Much darker when viewing on a phone screen. Love the series. I can't believe there is not more traffic at the first off ramp onto a secondary road. I particularly like that you are building in vanilla. Can't wait for the next episode.
I've had this on my mind since the double trumpet interchange but after seeing this video, let me tell you that "T4rget is a highway junction master!!!"
Fantastic episode as always Target! Interchanges are such a vital part of a good build and I see far too many creators either using workshop assets or very wonky roads, whereas yours fit the city perfectly, are smooth and realistic. For LUT issues when recording, I have found that the best for visibility is 'clear and bright' by Scotland Tom on the steam workshop, it is not the most realistic but it makes things very easy to see and works wonders on the very dark vanilla maps. Look forward to the next episode!
Oh my goodness T4rget I just remembered why I like your designs and layouts sooo much with this video. No one does cleaner line work than you. T4rget goes into overdrive #Godmode level designing.
Absolutely amazing time lapse. Beautiful interchanges and at least for me, just the right speed in the timelapses. Great edits too. (Visual mods awesome too - As others have said, just a little bit brighter)
Been enjoying your videos for a while now. I was able to create the highway design, but also made my own variations in some part. I like how the main highway system works. For the industrial area I did a turbine interchange. Instead, of the trumpet interchange. Great videos man!
I just spent hours doing your double trumpet interchange, using move-it of course, not only it solved a problem I had with traffic but it also it looks amazing (not as good as yours but close) ... I can totally see myself tomorrow spending hours doing this highway interchange as well ... mixed feelings, still thanks!
Even, learning some tips for cities skylines, also I’am learning English with your videos, you speak so clear and fluid, I’m so grateful with you in both sides!
Beautiful build as always! If at the start of the video you could show us the entire map, perhaps pointing at where you worked on, that would help us understand the bigger picture!
I am keeping up - sort of ... I use your concepts and even though I did master the industry junction roads my internal layout ended up being completely different. Same across my city , it follows your over all principles and ideas but has my internal designs. Your videos help me as I love this game but I lack vision of a true artist and thus I need some paint by the number guidance to help me out. Great videos - thanks !
You build very good interchanges. I guess you need to focus more on the highway networks. Also from your previous design and manage series I took inspiration to use railway lines to connect the industrial districts with the commercial districts. And gave public transport to connect between commercial and residential. The result was my highway traffic remained low and under control. The utilization of public transport comprising mostly underground metro was very high and there were no traffic problems in the city at all.
Also never mix the commercial zoning with residential. Always keep commerical separate with a lot of highway and railway connections. Always plan a cargo terminal in the commerical district so as to bring the goods to the shops. This will reduce the traffic in the city a lot. But plan your rail network properly as there will be a lot of trains
Ok, this is what I was waiting for and u delivered it. For sure I will not be able to recreate that interchange but I certainly can take ideas for future builds.
I think this is more than just a simple three way interchange, but that's why I like it. I am following along as best I can. Awesome videos and you explaining everything as you go is great. Thanks! P.S. Brighter
friggin love your stuff man. I am mesmerized by your artistry of doing this. I have this game and most of the DLC, and I feel like a 2nd grader with crayons in comparison.
That 3-way interchange is a thing of marvel, truly. But that on-off connection just before the river looks like it has the potential to cause some issues in the future. It's a pretty short stretch of highway between the ramps, and it'll introduce weaving since it's on ramp then off ramp. Just my 2 cents! That interchange is still peforming better than anything I've managed on my own!
T4rget, I think the mods help us see the map more clearly. I would leave them enabled. I love the interchange design with the large building protruding. Keep up the great work.
It got a bit brighter at the end, but it was dark(er) overall... Was it night? didn't seem like... I really liked the look of your previous videos, didn't really notice fog, or whatever. But indeed it's a bit dark(er) now. Cool vid nonetheless! ;)
I like the LUT used in the latter part of the video. The first one was a bit drastic, like the shadows looked almost menacing. As for the interchange, the only thing that concerns me is the stretch of road immediately after some of the exit ramps are forcing cars from the left most (fastest flowing traffic) to cut to the right and merge. I don't know if that can be cleaned up but I noticed it was causing traffic to slow a bit around 10:23 and 11:33 (near the exit over the rail tracks). EDIT: And then I see you acknowledge it later in the video. :D I do like the buildings weaving between the roads, it's very dramatic.
This is stunning EP ever Mr.T4rget! and thanks for choosing my country's interchange as your inspiration, much appreciated. Anyway, the LUTs mod are good but I found it too dark. It's like a cloudy day or rainy day all the time, it gives a great aesthetic but I think it'll be best if you adjust it a little brighter.
To get higher buildings in the loop you could paint a small district and make it an IT-cluster specialization :) Think those could look nice. Also if you are going to decorate the area, you could use a fence between the residential part and the highway since it looks quite close ^^

Use photorealistic LUT which will give your city a much more realistic view. Also use some map themes.
