For those making comments saying I’ve ‘moved him to a dry field’ compared to the last place where he had lush pasture; This reason alone was a large part of why this place was so much better suited to him. Overly lush grass isn’t always a good thing - it was a large contributor to his constant weight gain and was very high in sugars which increased his risk of laminitis. More grass isn’t always a good thing when it comes to horses. Theres enough land here that he has acres and acres to graze - and hay supplemented when there’s no grass. This will definitely be a better fit in the long run
@@rudniktheroan I am not a horse person, but do you mind sharing why the white horse was not taken with him? I ask as relocating him with a friend sounds like it would be a more happy move then just him having to make friends with the new group...
What an incredibly noble and beautiful creature! I miss horses very much. I was a barn manager for an FEI stable of all Freisians. Hated the owners but adored the horses. This was so lovely to watch all those well cared for horses, animals just be horses and do their things. I wish all horses could have this. Beautiful healthy creatures❤️
Wow! I have one thing only one on my bucket list, and that is to ride a Freisan. I am so in love with them, and I’ve never even seen one in person! I’m 75 so I’d better get this done sooner than later.😂
Hopefully he settles in well without too much confrontation. He's such a chilled out and gentle boy, and those moves of his should win those girls over! 😊
So far he’s doing great! Of course horses will still be horses as they figure out the chain of command but he’s quite content being off on his own too - always has been. I’m sure he’ll make friends quickly though!
I'm sure you have read this over and over. Beautiful horse, I like most people would have loved to live in a place where I could have had a horse. I adore animals of all kinds. I thank you for taking such good care of him.
You should be so proud of the confident horse you've managed to put together. And to think someone was going to just throw him away. Such a shame. Establishing pecking order on the new ranch is a little rough, but he's gonna be just fine mama, you are looking good too.
Rudnik did such a great job traveling! 🎉 His new home is beautiful, lots of rolling hills and friends to meet. He’s such a beautiful animal. When he had his tail up he reminded me of the movie The Black Stallion. 😍
He will! It just takes time for everyone to figure out their place in the herd but within 5 minutes he was already grazing beside one of the other boys 🥰
What a be areaautiful pasture.... Horse Heaven. What lovely people. It is a lot of hard work taking care of livestock of any kind, but you guys show compassion and empathy towards your horses.
Beautiful place! Love the way Rudnik prances and lifts his tail up. He's such a beauty. I'm worried 😮😮 all those other horses coming up to him. I know they'll work it out.😢
"Helloooo ladies! I'm Rudnik the Ro' and they call me The Big Show. Form an orderly line and start 'mirin." He gives me Lord Flash vibes from Blackadder. Too good.
It looked like the introductions went pretty well. A little of the usual posturing, but nothing serious. And he has cows to practice his cutting skills! Beautiful place too.
Off on new adventures Rudnik seemed a little nervous but he’ll have so much fun and of course he has to show off for the ladies & the cows although I don’t know how impressed the cows 🐄 would be 😂🤭he did so well on the ride over though good job handsome!!🤗💙🖤🐎 Lol his showy strut “look at me ladies hellooo I have arrived”😆
@@jeannedelaforet6441 horse lips!!! I just love when they grab hay and show their teeth..I love the way they smell the solidarity in their framework.. I love the elephants too!!! ❤️❤️❤️🌹🌹 they have my utmost respect. Glorious creatures.. gifts from a higher power🫶💘
I think a beautiful new home indeed! The trees and hills are all going to be a fun way to spend his days exploring- and he will find a place in the herd
Think he misses his old place & herd but you did a good job ....such a nice boarding home like a 5 star bed & breakfast 🍳☕🛋🛀🏕 beautiful paddocks & trees for shade. 🐄🐎🌲
It always gets me how they just follow where we lead, they have no choice but to trust us. Hope this one settles in and does well in his new home…it looks like the other horses are accepting him right away. We had someone with a horse near us, he lived all alone, made me sad every time I drove by. Then one day there was a “horse for sale” sign and then he was gone. I hope someone nice who has other horses bought him. No one should be alone.
I like all the extra information that was shared by the TH-camr 'Rudnik the Roan'. I am also not a horse person so all the tidbits of information about grazing, boarding, was fun to learn.
So it looks like the move went well? He loaded into the trailer beautifully and made himself right at home when rolled in the dirt. I can't wait for updates..
Saddest thing I've seen this morning. Reminds me of changing schools nthteen times as a travelling military kid - "everything will be just fine" & "you will meet SO many new friends" . Yeah, right. " Bye, bye Buddy. You'll be alright" Hopefully.
So beautiful, at first his eye's looked alittle worried but when he saw where he was going he was ok. Beautiful horse's and beautiful land. Looks like Sonoma County in Northern California where I live ,it's absolutely beautiful.
Just started watching you guys ❤️. He sure is a handsome guy ❤️❤️❤️. I don’t own or feel horses but I’m learning so much about them from your channel and a couple others. Makes me love them more ❤️.
Surprisingly I don’t even have a lot compared to what most people have for a single horse 😂 Ive seen some people who have enough equipment for 6 horses for just their 1 😂
That isn’t always a good thing - it was a large contributor to his constant weight gain and was very high in sugars which increased his risk of laminitis. Right. He does look slightly pudgy. One of the most beautiful horses I ever saw years ago was a blue roan stallion at a horse show. Such an unusual color, but he was gorgeous. My horse had to live alone most of his life, but I remember sometimes, he’d just feel good to be alive and would prance about with his tail in the air.
First time here…I dont know anything about horses but his body language sure changed when he arrived at new location…he perked up and showed so much interest!
It’s his forever-fornow home until we can finally get our own place. We’re renting in the city right now so Hopefully someday we can get our own little place with enough land to bring him home for good - and then a buddy to keep him company 🥰
Barry Hook has talked of reactions horses have to animals, so he goes out of his way to find pigs, sheep, llamas, cows, burros....where they get to initially watch from afar and then get closer. Apparently some horses are really horrified by donkeys and their bray. Glad Rudnik looks like he will do well.
Rudnik has so much self confidence and assertiveness that he put himself top of the pile, king of the castle and he made sure to let everyone know it! Cheeky monkey!! lol. He is such a character and he makes me laugh just watching the videos.

Yeah most people don't know some feeds are to good and shouldn't be constant as you point out it can be a real problem.
You did the right thing. I was afraid he was going to founder at the old place. But the new fences, nightmarish.
Can't get over how handsome Rudnik is. Nice new place with shade, interesting niches & community.
He’s so proud. I love it when they prance with their tail up.
He is really beautiful
if he could wear a fedora he definitely would lol
…but also a sign of stress. It will take him some time to settle into his new surroundings
@Bassalicious I'd actually love to see that! (The fedora.) It would suit him!😊
