I'm trying to educate people on painted wolves and helping get rid of any negative associations. Painted wolves are an endangered species, with only 6,600 left in the wild. Most of the videos I have seen of painted wolf kills include some expression of horror or disgust at the killing method... the swarming and tearing apart of the prey animal. It provides a human pretext for devaluing this species. We are seeing it from the outside, projecting our own fears on the situation; and not from the inside, from the perspective of the prey and the predator. From the inside, it’s over in seconds, versus minutes. And as you say, no one is arguing at the dinner table!
to be honest if you have a dog and a cat the same size, depending on temperment and personality, the cat will always win. I've seen cats intimidate German Shepherds etc....obviously they couldnt win in a fight but the dog doesnt seem to know that.

Blessed with very good speed and even better stamina wild dogs are hard to chase down. It wouldn't be quite fair if lions had that kind of speed and stamina now would it.
It's pretty tough for a lion to catch a wild dog unless they catch them completely off-guard. Wild dogs are just too fast, too quick and too agile, unless it's pup. FYI - Despite unproven claims of lionesses reaching 80 KMH there is absolutely no corroborating evidence that they've been clocked more than record 71 kMH and that was a record for a short distance, not an average.

I like how, at the end, one of the dogs confused the lioness by running in the lioness' s path to draw its focus away from the dog it was chasing after.
