    The lead singer, Peter Cetera, has one of the most recognizable voices in the modern era of music. He had a successful solo career after he left Chicago. I'm positive one of his songs would sound familiar to you guys.

    I've been watching y'all for a hot minute now & I want to tell you how impressed I am with how quickly you have both grown in your musical knowledge. Many other reactors listen to songs & say they are great but really successful reactors grow & retain the knowledge that goes with it. Perfect example is being able to listen to just a small part of a song or seeing a small part of a video & being able to know what decade it is from. We lived it. We know. But for you, it takes a lot of paying attention to detail & you both do that so well.

    You are in for a treat with Peter Cetera (His voice is incredible) they had quite a few love songs in the 80s..Hard Habit To Break, Love Me Tomorrow, and You're The Inspiration( Beautiful song!) but you do have to understand Peter Joined Chicago in 1967 so he was with them from the get go as their bassist..He sang their big hit from 1976 If You Leave Me Now and also sang lead on Just You `n` Me and Baby ,What A Big Surprise (70s)...he also had some Beautiful solo hits and duets. Solo Glory Of Love(Theme from Karate Kid 2) and duets After All w/Cher and Next Time I Fall w/Amy Grant..Believe me, you will love them all! Keep On Rockin`

      Along with Peter Cetera on Chicago albums 16 and 17, one would be remiss not to check out 18-21 as well-- Don't forget the Jason Scheff years with Chicago also. Will You Still Love Me?, Look Away, One More Day, We Can Last Forever, What Kind of Man Would I Be?, If She Would Have Been Faithful, Remake of 25 or 6 to 4, I Don't Wanna Live Without Your Love, Man To Woman, You're Not Alone, Victorious, Chasin' the Wind... there's more to be mined there.
      One of their other awesome ballads, first one with Scheff joining them was "Will You Still Love Me?"

  • @karensaldanha4760
    @karensaldanha4760 3 ปีที่แล้ว +30

    Same band members in this song except Terry's replacement (Bill Champlin) and a guitarist. The change is the new manager (David Foster) made Peter Cetera the headliner, effectively making the rest of Chicago a back up band and not alliowing much of the songwriting of Robert Lamn & James Pankow that permeated their previous albums.
    Although this song is beautiful, the rest of the band were unhappy; so, after a few albums feeling constrained, since they were a majority rules band and Peter wanted more and more solo career they fired Peter and are making the variety of music they had before that brings the horns back to the forefront.
    They always did beautiful love songs, but with different variety as they were written by difference song writers in the band.
    If you other questions, feel free to ask.

    • @Decurion505
      @Decurion505 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Typical music industry bs: either push the band's to record what the industry wants and/or break up the band to cherry pick "marketable" talents.
      Destiny's Child, Maroon 5, The Supremes...the list is long

    • @Decurion505

      All else aside tho, Peter's got a amazing voice

    • @dennisjames1973
      @dennisjames1973 3 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      David Foster was never their manager, he was brought in to help write new songs since Robert Lamn was battling drug addiction and neither he or James Pankow were writing anything decent and hadn't been for awhile. David Foster along with Pete Cetera wrote the songs on Chicago 16 and 17 that literally resurrected the band's career and brought them back into the spotlight.

In the BG's ballad '"Too much heaven", he horn section from Chicago made a guest appearance. At the time, they were next door working on their album "HOT STREETS" The Bee Gees returned the favour as they appeared on Chicago's song "Little Miss Lovin'" and their keyboardist Blue Weaver appeared on "No tell lover"...

    Another band worth checking out is Blood, Sweat & Tears. Like Chicago, they had great horn arrangements and could incorporate rock, jazz, rhythm & blues, big band, pop and classical into their music. "Spinning Wheel" is probably their most famous song, but I'd recommend something like "Smiling Phases" or "Go Down Gamblin'", but they had so many other great original and cover songs they did.

    Sooo love Chicago!!!!!!
    Not sure if you're aware but there is a band from RUSSIA called LEONID & FRIENDS that covers their songs..they are out of this world!!!
    The guys from CHICAGO said this was the best cover band of their songs !!!
    They are so good that fans from the US brought them to perform...Chicago came to hear them .
    So in your spare time watch their videos !!

    Their ballads show their vocal talent. That was a number one song. Also....try ....hard habit to break. Another number one for them in the eighties. How about REO SPEEDWAGON? I can’t fight this feeling..another great video

    I've realized how spoiled we were back then. I should have paid better attention to all the great music at the time. It ended up being the background to our lives. But my radio didn't have good enough speakers for me to appreciate it and I was busy raising my kids. Thank you for the chance to give it proper attention and really listen to the music of my youth. It's wonderful to see younger people enjoy it so much!

    If you like this Chicago song you have to hear "You're the Inspiration " and "If you leave me now". 80's music was the best. Those years I was a teenager and I'have hear music like that since those years.

    This was a number one hit for them. I loved this song and was following it on the charts at the time. It was also on the soundtrack of the movie "Summer Lovers." Check that one out. Haha

    the 80s were the decade of the power ballads. Listen to Don't know What You've Got Til It's Gone (Cinderella), November Rain (Guns n Roses), High Enough (Damn Yankees), Faithfully (Journey), Heaven (Warrant), Thank You For Loving Me (Bon Jovi) and so many more!

    Yeah the 70s Chicago is different from the 80s. A lot of the same members just after Terry died Peter Cetera moved up front. He actually sang on some of the older music

    Peter's singing style by opening his mouth quite little is because he's jaw was broken and while healing it was wired shut. Peter didn't want to wait removal of wires and learned to sing with them.
