    I have NO idea why they even make headphones with touch control. It's a nightmare. Especially the "best ever headphones" from Sony, that doesn't work if it's cold outside. I had them for a week, then returned them. With others I've head, that works better, they still don't always react. And if I'm using gloves it also doesn't work.

      @@repit5014 I'd also consider the Jabra Elite 85h. (www.jabra.no/bluetooth-headsets/jabra-elite-85h#/#100-99030003-60) They are my choice at present, even after trying the new Bose top model. Jabra even advertise that they can be used in the rain. I use them both for call, music, and audio books, and I've got no complains. Though I'd say that the Sennheisers have WAY better design.

    Best sound but ugly and heavy. Nothing beats the sound of these and I own B&0 h9i, tried Master & Dynaminc and the older MHD1 and M2. My only complaint is I don’t use them as often as I would bc they are too heavy and cumbersome. I get Sennheiser wanted to accommodate all the people with giant ears complaining the ear ups on previous versions were too small but really they went the extreme and put hubcaps on these things. The ear ups are ridiculous and need to be redesigned. They look stupid and are heavy.

    7:50 - what do you mean that you "tried to tweak it to get it flat"? What is your measure of "flat"? I've seen other reviews that captured data and it looks pretty level all the way up to about 15khz where it dips a little, but not a lot. i1.wp.com/www.gadgetguy.com.au/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/SM-FR.jpg
    You say that they are a bit bassy and trebbly, but then you say at 9:00 that the mids really stand out as well, being clear and well separated. So I'm confused.

    Really nice review.
    These are audiophile BT/ANC aimed at folks who travel or work in an office setting and need to cancel surrounding noise while enjoying their FLAC files or listening to podcasts. These are SQ first, BT second (no LDAC, no APTX HD) and ANC last. I'm seriously looking at these, as they likely fit my needs and give me great SQ. Also I completely agree the PXC 550 v2 is the actual competitor to the Bose 700 and the Sony, due out in October.

    • @theflyinglama
      @theflyinglama 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'd say the ANC on these is about a 9. I tried the Sony, and in my opinion the Sennheiser's ANC is almost neck to neck with the Sony. I've used them on the bus and on the train, and they kill almost all of the noise. The only thing that the ANC sometimes misses are noises at higher frequencies, like police sirens etc. Otherwise the ANC creates a near perfect seal.
      I recommend these headphones very much.

    Well the touch controls on my pair of newer Sonys are actually one of the main reasons I'm looking into models like this instead. Nothing but an unnecessary pain in the ass. Can't tell you how many times just adjusting or touching the headphones causes it to launch a song on Spotify when a movie is playing, makes a song I paused resume, etc. And at times when I do want to tap it to pause something it takes multiple tries before it senses it. All for what? To say OOOHHH LOOK AT MY TOUCH CONTROL PLAY & PAUSE! SO CUTTING EDGE! Been using the Sony wireless series for like over a decade & never experienced any of this annoyance when they used a standard button & pause/play worked every time

    Got them on saturday,got previous momentum as well here are the things that I do not like about them. Hinges -they unfold too easily as you take them out off the case they do that straight away without my interaction. Proximity sensor is not too sensitive despite of what one of the reviews was saying-if I don't put them correctly on my ears,that the ear is fully inside of the can they won't resume playing. Hinges that adjust fit to your head,they are more sensitive then previous model meaning that when I take them off and put them on my head they will change fit, they should be more firm.
    Can you tell me if you experience similar with yours or maybe mine are like that.
    After 3 weeks of using they are broken. They do not even try to connect to any bluetooth device,they turn on but won't connect, microphones started working exactly same as my momentum 2.0 it's started to pick up every background noise even when walking it's difficult to hear me because of noise I produce,I live with window facing street and my dad said that he can't hear me because of the cars while I was inside of my house. Replaced them today but I still remember that I was replacing momentum2 twice,something starts building my concerns about sennheiser.

    The Momentum 3 head-phones are a death trap. Death trap for finger or the hand that is. If one is not careful when unfolding the phones ---- a portion of the finger, or even a portion of the hand can potentially get nipped when the spring-loaded mechanism does the abrupt flip-out thing when it unfolds. Anything - like the side of the finger - that just so-happens to be in that gap region (where the sharp metal corners are) --- can get either a nasty pinch, or maybe even a little chunk taken out. Those sharp corners/edges should have been rounded off --- made less sharp, so that it doesn't pinch or cut.

    not a review but more of an unboxing.
    Things I would have liked to know:
    - with the previous generation if you plug in the cable, bluetooth turns off automatically and cannot be turned on (which is a good thing) -> still the same?
    - with the previous generation I can't have bluetooth connection and NO noise cancelling. this fixes that.
    - with the previous generation the headband had absolutely no padding but was easy to mod (foam). this looks like it's not-so-easy to mod.

      @southpark5555 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Once the phones are 'off', you can't just push the button to turn it back on again. I have a pair of M3, but don't like the way that we need to turn on the phones by folding and then unfolding. It just means more mechanical movement, which probably reduces the life of the mechanism that turns the head-phones on and off. I'm not sure what sort of mechanism it is though --- that does the switching when we unfold and fold. Hopefully it is well-tested and reliable. But - I still don't like the idea of needing users to fold and unfolded - just to power up the phones.
