    The new Sennheiser Momentum 3’s have been packed with a whole bunch of new features to help them stay competitive with some of the most popular ANC headphones out there right now. And personally I really like how these headphones sound and I really like their build quality. These headphones do have some quirks, but they also have some very unique features to them that may appeal to Android user audiophiles that just refuse to give up their audio jacks… especially for those who may have just upgraded to the note 10.

    Am I the only one who feels 17 hrs is already an outrageous amount of battery life? Why do ppl demand so many hrs?

    • @sceptikal1060
      @sceptikal1060 4 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      I agree - 17 hours of playing time is very good. If you listen to 2hrs every day for an entire week, you'll only need to charge once per week. That isn't so bad

      As an owner of the momentum 3s, this is true. Love how these sound even if the ANC isn't the best. It's good enough and doesn't change the sound quality drastically unlike most ANC headphones. Battery life may be lackluster, but so far no other issues! Overall, I highly recommend.

    • @Hari-kx2er
      @Hari-kx2er 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is all about the price point and the battery life offered by other headphones (Industry minimum is 20hrs and some even offer 35hrs). Secondly, some one can use an NC headphone in other occasions rather than during daily commute and long haul flights. Such as while working in a noisy library, in a café and so on. Lastly for someone who uses a pair of premium headphones for atleast a couple of years, a small battery life becomes annoying over time.

    the automatic turn on and off function after assembly does not work, factory reset from the application and reset of holding the volume up button for 20 seconds did not help. I can turn the headphones off with the glowing button, but then they only turn on when I plug in the USB C cable, which means I apply some current. do you know the solution?

    LG G8 Thinq user here, I have the original Sennheiser Momentum headphones and have had them since they released and I just can't muster up $400 to lose my hifi audio jack and get a marginal benefit of having bluetooth connectivity and ANC. To be honest as good as these headphones are I haven't seen leaps and bounds of tech from sennheiser since they released the outstanding HE-1. They mastered sound quality very early on and their build quality is so top notch that they are struggling to reap the benefits of being the best headphone engineers on the market, my old momentum's are doing me so well I just can't find the heart to shell out $400 for a new pair.

    They have much nicer soundstage than the XM3's, but I am experiencing some issues with the Bluetooth (it conflicts with the remote control mic / audio of my TV, when connecting to my phone simultaneously with another Bluetooth headset (listen to music together) it sometimes stops playing, stutters or start skipping the music tracks.) Otherwise, I love the multipoint option. Is there any way to make the soundstage of the XM3 as good as this one? Or are there other competitors out there that have better sound than the XM3?

      As far as headphones of this style. There are only 2 wireless NC cans that I recommend as an audiophile with an extensive collection of headphones and amps, the Sony 1000s and these Momentums. The Bose QC 35 II are great for voice calls but not so for music. Skullcandy products on the whole are an inferior product designed with a muddy presentation of music. Actually I recommend Bluedio Headphones as well they are a very nice company that won't hurt your wallet either. Not sure if they make a noise cancelling model though.

      Going with the Sonys, you get about 5 dB more noise cancelling, a better battery, touch controls, and they fold up into a smaller package for travel/storage. The downsides to the Sonys are you can only pair 1 device at a time, much cheaper build quality, sound quality (the Sonys are good but the Senns go as low and get much better mids and highs), and an app that lets you tune the headphone EQ on iOS or Android without dropping you to SBC on Android.

    Sennheiser headphones have a unique sound signature. Comparing various sound signatures from Bose, JBL, Sony, they all have certain strengths and frequencies that they tune to. Sennheiser delivers a far superior balanced audio signature experience from them all, no EQ adjustments needed. Sony's drowns you in bass, JBL needs a touch more treble and with Bose depending on the kind of music you're listening to need adjustments from both.

    The m3's are bassy. It's really slamming bass but it's not balanced with the midrange and treble.
    The bass is 1 step forward in the mix.
    Some people might not care and some people might really like that.
    I can get used to it but it takes me awhile to adjust to that sound.
    All I have to do is switch to a pair of my wired headphones like the audio technica m40x and immediately hear the extra clarity on the vocals and instruments.
    The m40x are half the price of the senn. M3's , although theyre not active bluetooth noise canceling headphones.
    I think why people think the m3's sound great is because they're not comparing them to wired headphones or they just really like bass.

    Attention HD800/HD800s owners they are the closest thing that you are going to find to a quality wired headset albeit closed back bluetooth. The problem is that it is missing LDAC and APTx-HD but they have regular aptx and a wire should you care to use it. So I wish I had skipped these and did better research. Wait for the momentum 4s period if you own a wired headset that costs over $1000.

    Ugh. Still using that craptastic headband style. I love the sound of my Momentum 2's, but I usually reach for my XM3's for the sake of not having that annoying hotspot pressed into the top of my skull. I end up having to use a little knit headband cover on the Momentums which means I'm certainly not taking them out in public.
    Amazes me that Sennheiser, a company that can make something that disappears like the 600 line can't figure out comfort on portable headsets. Hopefully the PXCs will be decent and not have an obnoxiously low maximum volume this time around so I can have that Senn sound on the go again.

      The drivers in the momentum 3s are simply better than the sonys. The differences in codecs used is fairly minimal in comparison to the hardware that's pushing the sound to your ears. And aptx is still a high quality codec

      Sony isn't very clear. It's to focused on bass. Sennheiser and Bowers & Wilkins are way better in sound clarity. I have both, but torn between the PX7's battery life of 30 hours compared to M3's 17, and Sennheiser's deeper bass and better materials.

      TheGamingAudiophile hard to be an audiophile with an iphone using these headphones. I bought them and they sound great but they only do aac over bluetooth and the apple adapter for a wired connection still compresses the music from what I have read. I have done a lot of research after buying these. The best way it seems to be an audiophile apple user is to use a device that supports airplay. I still love the headphones and they are still miles better than any other headphones I have used.

    17 hOuRs iS gOoD eNoUgH all right, the point is that more hours CAN be achieved and ARE achieved by competitors, so why can't sennheiser achieve as many hours as their competitors? not having to charge a pair of headphones as often is an obvious advantage, it's not about 1000 hours vs 1020 which would be negligible, but we're talking almost double the battery life, which is huge.
