Thank you for watching! - แนวปฏิบัติและการใช้ชีวิต
Under 11 mm thick, 300 m water resistant, automatic movement. This is something you don't see everyday. Nice piece, Marc!
very true, thank you
With a Miyota 9039 that outperforms Rolex and ETA movements in it's class in accuracy.
I love em all but that cotton candy & black one are definitely my favorites! I cant believe these are as thin (actually thinner) than my L.I.W Brookville! You absolutely knocked it out of the park with these! You sir are the reason I got into the hobby from watching your "watch and learn" videos and releasing your own brand which offered fantastic quality for the money not to mention incredible customer service that is 2nd to none! I Type this as im wearing my L.I.W ISL-18 with negative solid endlinks and a fully milled steel clasp with 6 micro adjustments. it works as flawlessly as it did when I bought it almost 4 years ago! Thank you for getting me into this wonderful hobby by making beautiful top notch watches that are financially accessible, not to mention creating such an awesome community! I sincerely hope you, your friends, family and loved ones all have a wonderful Christmas! and I wish you all the success in the world, you deserve it! ✌️
Mark, I love that you're not afraid to try color combinations. The pink one, in my not-so-humble opinion, should have had solid turquoise markers, giving it better readability in daylight. Those colors are iconic. The same with the orange one, likewise should have had solid black, again for better readability. The black-and-white one was my favorite; very cool. I'll bet that one flies out of the shop.
love the black one, keep putting out stuff thats all murdered out
got it!
This is a realllll killer and the Islander brand integration on the dial is NICE. The first one is beautiful. Well done Marc and Spinnaker.
thanks Bryan!
Watch pourn at it's best, lume was the happy ending. Spinnaker + Long Island = great collab!
LOL, thank you
@@islandwatch You have really cool mechanical watches that are cool and reliable, I have multiple Spinnakers and Long Islands. Keep your dream alive!
Another great colab with Spinnaker
Thanks!
Ordered one yesterday, can’t wait!
sweet, thank you
A am still waiting for Islander with 4R34 and style like Tudor GMT. 🙏If you do I will buy it immediately. 🙂
okay, thank you.
Fine vid Marc. Thanks!
These look great. Love the Dark of Light but also like the Cotton Candy variant.
thank you
I have a brown-dialed Spence. It gets a lot of wrist time. Slender, well-built, and it has a great movement.
1:08 THAT is the BEST idea in your BEST design AND the White IS the BEST colour way…so happy 1:08 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Big fan of no-dates!
many are
Yes, now were talking. Spinnaker is a very underrated watch co. for some reason. I usually hate odd colored watches, but this pale orange and powder blue (the cotton candy) looks really good. 11mm thin? freakin awesome. Matter of fact I like all of the colors. I own 3 Squale divers thanks to you Marc, and obviously I love the Squale line. Islander watches are very underrated too and I place them over Seiko. Islander watches are better built, and quality control and I've worn them this year more than all of my other watches. Speaking of which ISL# 175 Port Jeff here I come.
thank you very much for the kind words
That sword hands compliments the dial very proportionally, very cool set!
Another winning collab. Although I will be honest, I think the colors are a little out there for me. Being a fairly new watch collector, I’m still into more traditional colors. But I have no doubt I will branch out in the future. Thanks!
Fair enough!
The black one kinda has the 80's aesthetic, simple and robust but built for purpose with a dial that will draw your attention. The 300m water resistance is a seal of approval for anyone concerned about technical quality with an alluring price. For a few years now I haven't bumped into anything as exciting as this in the realm of black pvd coated watches.
The orange strap is cool on the orange watch, but a black one would make the dial pop even more. Nice work!
it sure would!
Perhaps the most interesting bit of information from the video was the Port Jeff based 9075 powered GMT. Can't contain my excitement regarding the same. Marc, please consider having some type of quick micro-adjust on it, and you'll have an absolute winner on your hands!
OMG ... perfect spork! Surprised there's no black dial. Black dial + silver bezel = 🔥🔥🔥
thanks!
Glycine Combat Sub is one of my favorite watches. 200m WR and 10.5 thick.
Marc and Tim Mosso all day. The rulers of watch content.
And Teddy, that boy hussles.
And TGV and Jody. That is all.
eh, there's alot better than me!
The black one is very cool, but I gotta have a date complication, it really comes in handy.
no worries, thanks for watching.
The tangerine one with the tangerine lume is amazing and very different imo
thanks!
Fantastic
I know that this makes two videos in a row, Marc, but the Glycine Combat Sub is 10.7mm thick. To be fair, it's only rated for 200m though.
200 ain't 300!
Nice cold open!
haha, thanks.
I am not sure about the colorways, but the watch looks pretty awesome. I have been wearing the same two watches since last spring, the vintage blue pilot ( ISL-232 ), and the ocean blue ripple dial Northport ( ISL-195 ). They are both great, and I always recommend Islanders to my friends.
thank you so much!
All are good .
thanks
Different and cool
thanks so much.
thanks so much.
My RLT 20 is 5.3 plus 2ml crystal, so 7.5, has a sunken bezel and a vintage FE4611 movement, also used in the Monnin...The Tidor 54 is thin too fight fans !
The thinnesses of the watches are a draw for me, thin is in! Another great collab.
much appreciated.
Sorry to be so late with this, but it finally dawned on me that Marc may be the only watch seller who would actually use the functions of all the watches he sells. He dives. He flies. He runs. And he works a desk. Hmm. Maybe he doesn’t sail?
LOL. No, not a fan of boats.
This is basically an NTH Sub V1 which is great watch.
The PVD one is cool. Timothy Dalton on a budget.
haha, thanks!
Looks great! Plan to do it in a date variant?
not currently
It reminds me of the Heuer Night diver. Dalton wore in The Living daylights
I'll have to watch it again!
@@islandwatch Just Google the images. We really don't see it well on screen
Have you seen the pressure chamber channel where they pressure test all sorts of watches? I think the guy is from Finland. It amazes me how the back of the cases under pressure deform. Wonder how a thin watch like this would hold up? Ps they are called beyond the press. Curious as to what you think?
Is there any way you could do a limited 38mm Brookville in full lume X1 superluminova? I'd pay a premium for that, especially on an o****r bracelet. I'd love to get a full lume watch that is not *a diver. PS this is probably your best collab yet IMO, love the thinness. And that orange one is the no date Superocean Breitling refused to make.
Has Spinnaker officially pivoted to making limited edition hype train momentum the foundation of their business strategy?
A majority of their lineup is non-le stuff.
It looks a lot like the NTH Nacken series. They are quite thin also
Yes, but not this thin
I think an orange color would sell a lot better than the red colored one. I don't like that red color at all, but if it looked something like a Seiko Monster in Orange, that would be very nice.
noted, thank you.
When I saw it on the video on TH-cam, it looked red but looks like a dark orange on the website. That threw me. @@islandwatch
I'd have to see it in person to be sure, but I think the lack of contrast between the dials and the hands/markers is a problem for me. Which is a shame, they're otherwise gorgeous watches, and that sub-11mm thickness is perfect for my tiny wrist. Orange on black in particular would have been perfect, rather than orange/orange. Fully-lumed dials also generally become near impossible to read as they fade, which is kind of the opposite of what I want in a diver.
noted, thank you
Is the black one just basic IP coating or DLC?
IP
Any curved-end rubber straps that will fit and allow me to use the clasp?
Marc, your carbon fiber faced diver with DLC case reminded me of Fortis marine master limited edition.
Seeing that orange and black, but mainly the orange lumed hands reminds me of the Fortis Mars 500 limited edition (DLC case, black face, orange indices). Super handsome piece. I'd love to see an islander like that. Orange lume, while not the brightest is nice, mellow in a different way than blue is.
thanks much!
This video and others like it is why Rolex is King, no other watch brand is in the mouths of so many people more than them "Rolex killer this" "better than Rolex that" meanwhile their lore increases in mystical ways from it all, damn lol.
Could the cotton candy one pass as a male watch?
It's hard to see on the video how much of orange has in it or is pretty much a pink one? 😅
so is it thinner than the Rouchefoucauld?
tells time in Staad
Call it 10.9mm thin actually makes it feel thinner than call it 10.9mm thick !!!!
true!
Isnt it the same as the NTH case?
NTH is decently thicker
Amazingly thin. and. Affordable. Dive watch thinnest l ve
Отл! 👍
:)
Tag Night Diver.
Didn't you mean 8 ticks per second instead of 4?
Yes. 4 Hz, 8 ticks per second.
As thin as a Tudor?? as...THIN...as a Tudor?? I had stairs installed on my Black Bay, that thing is thicker than the average Hodinkee reader
Well, some of the older ones! LOL
Great looking watch... but no date. darn.
How about a POINTER DATE! 😁
maybe in the future.
Dive watches
yes
I hate bracelets with no taper should have a little at least
I wouldn’t call Tudor thin. Well not the Tudors I’ve seen.
wouldnt buy another spinaker, bought a bradner last year, then this year seen the fleuse blue pearl diver and bought it right away, thought it was a stunning diver, managed to drop it and the bezel insert broke, sent dozens of emails to customer service to enquire about supplying a new insert,1 reply email saying customer services will be in touch, and nothing since.Y et still recieving almost daily emails trying to sell me other models....its not just about making good watches its also how you treat customer.and spinaker have failed badly, should just have bought another islander.
Rolex and Tudor don’t make thin watches, Tudor used to make one at 6mm in the 50’s and 60’s, Rolex has never made a watch below 9mm and nowadays all of their models are relative fatties, it’s one of the disadvantages of their in house movements, they are built to be robust, not elegant or slim.
It's about as thin as the sub
It takes me time to save up for items like this. Therefore as soon as I see it is a 'limited addition' I give up on ever owning one. Nice watch, but go home.
Haha, you never know!
thinner divers yes, quirky colors and odd designs..... nah
Dive watches are meant to be Big and still searching..
But not everyone wants that
I dislike all the watches advertised in this advertisement. They are horrid
I love the specs. But, the colors. Uhh. 🤮
This isn't a review, it's a sales pitch.
Only too common these days.
We understand; you get nowhere in blogging if you 'roast' even mediocre watches, but where does that leave the 'punters'?
