Given the latest scam and subsequent fallout of Boogie2988, I'm very surprised to see him featured here, and also that he is going to be at an expo. I doubt he will show...
I feel like Minty Tim is a recurring character on a sitcom. He’ll just randomly show up on the show, do his thing, and then you won’t see him again until halfway through the season. 😂
I have Fatal Inertia had no clue it was worth anything I have complete with manual and registration card I think I paid 50 cents for it a couple months ago. Sweet!!!!
There are NO Batman the Animated Series toys in your store, that might be hurting your biz 🙂 My God, I miss Kevin Conroy so much. He was perfect. I got a voice acting background and have to say that his voice has been such an inspiration for me since the Batman the Animated Series. The vocal training was tough, without noticeable results for months but actors like him are a great impulse to not give up; almost the face of Leon in those new RE games :) Great video as always.
late to the show but when Rick was saying he was gonna put the games on the wall by the door i was yelling ... "Noooo they will steal them". Then he followed with ... they are empty. haha.
On those older lights there are LED conversion kits you can install, they are cheap, easy to install, and a much brighter and better light. Also will save you money on your electric bill and bulb costs because you’ll never have to replace them again id bet
Check to make sure there isn't a substantial voltage drop on the lighting circuit. That would cause the ballasts and lights to fail. Or put in LED low-bay/high-bay lights
You guys don't know how lucky you are to even have this many sources/places from where u can find/buy/resale/exchange games, consoles, and stuff, here in Serbia we mostly have one of two websites from which we get those(if I'm wrong someone please, correct or tell me if I'm wrong!), enjoy collecting, can wait for an opportunity to do the same! :)
Hey Rick. Big fan of the channel and the store! I actually run a game store that does 80% trading cards and 20% video games. And another big difference is that fact that shipping a video game is $4 minimum with usps nowadays. You can ship a trading card online that is worth less than $20 for around $1 between a top loader envelope and stamp. Hence why we buy cards worth less than $5 daily but pass on video games worth less than $10 often.
Not to mention a card store is just that; cards. A video game store like yours sells, various shaped games that require shelves for that specific console, you sell strategy guides, special editions, the consoles themselves, controllers etc. And then on top of that you sell toys, cards and movies. Probably more that I didn't even think of.
This is something that really annoyed me. A guy local to me was selling a bunch of DS games he bought from a local game store. He bought them in bulk because they were going out of business. They all had the cases when he bought them, but they were inside a binder because of space constraints in the game store. Instead of him, putting them right in the cases immediately, he misplaced the cases. I bought the games and I spent three days removing stickers off the back of each one of them and cleaning them up so there was no residue. I put them up for sale, not holding my breath on getting the cases and as soon as I sold them, he calls me and says he has the cases. if I was closer to you, I'd bring them over and see if there was anything you needed lol People don't realize genuinely how long it takes you to clean and remove all stickers and residue. It took me three days to go through 500 games and it was a nightmare.
In regards to the lights might want to look into your power. Might want to check your fuse box. Power conditioning might fix your issue. Locally my power company has a lot of surges that set off my fuses. Destroyed a few appliances. I could see that affecting your lighting ballasts
Do you know about the new electrical codes? They require service panels to have better breakers and have surge protection in them. Please upgrade your electrical service. Retro Rick needs to do this at his store too.
I’d like to make a suggestion with getting the games out the door and into the customers hands faster. I noticed at record stores they will post on social media note worthy trade ins and higher ticketed items. This will have people message you and you can get specific items in the floor first rather than waste time on lesser value items
Sweet trade in the the Switch collection! I love a good RPG game. In fact, quite a few of those games I've hoped either have animes to watch already or get ones soon. I thought about seeing if there's any such thing as a non-commercial disk cleaner. Do those kind of things exist? I thought it'd be nice to be able to clean up my games and movies on my own without making unnecessary trips.
I don't really understand the payoff for Minty Tim. He goes out of his way far and wide to hunt and find collections people are selling. Then once he haggles the collection down, he buys it just to flip to the game store -- which Rick needs to buy for under half market value to make anything on them, especially if he'll be sitting on all the inventory for a long time. So what kinda margin is Minty Tim getting? Is it even worth his time? Is he retired? lol...
well it's either Tim sells to a pawn shop and get's ripped off, or lists it on ebay and pays for fees and shipping everything. Rick's store is probably the quicker deal. You're going to have to take a loss somewhere and not get the full value.
@@TooBokoohi I’m minty Tim. I buy collections and also Rick and me work together and mutually Benefit off way more than what you see. I hunt for the deals and also make money on the tons and tons and tons of stuff Rick doesn’t take. I make tons. I also don’t sell at 50 percent of value just an fyi. But you only see a fraction of the business I do.
I clean/De-sticker every game i put on ebay. So I can def appreciate the time/effort it takes. Not to mention pricing competitively! dang 'ol hidden costs i tell u hwhat.
I was curious about something with your store. Understandable that certain games you can move quick, but I was wondering about the slow paced stuff. Have you ever considered listing slow moving products on places such as eBay? I know eBay gets a % cut of sales though, but I think all online stores do. eBay, Poshmark, and Mercari all take cuts.
Conventions look cool if you’re a TH-camr or buying supply to sell at a store but I live 4 hours from Greenville. Factoring time, gas, hotel, food, admission, etc. I’d have spent like 300-400 dollars just to walk in the door... and then to just pay eBay prices… Too expensive.
If you wait to resurface the disk until the person buys it. That would cut your time down a lot. Then you are not resurfacing disk that may sit for months or a year
Pokemon card shops know they have have to give a bigger percentage anyway. Most card collectors who know what they have won't even entertain a small percentage number because they know someone on FB or Ebay will pay 80%+ or the full price. Percentage is if you're trying to move something immediately
Minty Tim is like a retro character from the 80’s. Bringing the 5 finger discount heat. lol
Given the latest scam and subsequent fallout of Boogie2988, I'm very surprised to see him featured here, and also that he is going to be at an expo. I doubt he will show...
The scam just happened so he was already booked for the convention. Drama on the internet happens way faster than event planning.
@@TooBokoo ya dude, it’s disgraceful.
He had the longest line out of anyone at SEGE. It was crazy. I was able to walk right up to Riggs, Siccoper and Squarepegs who had no line at all.
