Thank you so much for making this video. I have built a similar computer also with MSI's Carbon WiFi motherboard. Both the 13900K and 4090 GPU are water cooled. Have you seen any issues with the unlimited settings (4096W, 512A) for "Short/Long Duration Power Limit" and "CPU Current Limit" being completely out of the 13900K specs with the "CPU Cooler Tuning" set to "Water Cooler" settings?
Thanks for the support, yes I have observed and experienced games crashing when things like, shader compilation is used in some games. Tekken 8, Horizon forbidden west, Remnant 2. But this only happens if temperatures are out of control. But with all the new information, I would suggest using a power limit of 320W for short and long and 500 Amps on the ICCMax, for better stability.
I just wish there was a simple, change this, this, and that to make the cpu run optimally. Its crazy to me how these motherboard manufacturers default settings have these cpus hitting 100c instantly and just relying on the thermal throttling to control it. I know for Asus boards, there is a single setting (multi-core enhancements) you can disable that basically sets the cpu back to intel limits and allows the CPU to run as intended by intel, which gives much better temps. MSI doesnt have that one setting, and it seems like its mostly based off what cooler you select. Even selecting the middle (tower cooler 288w) setting, still ramps my wattage up above that and hits 100c. Setting box cooler (253w), is the only thing that keeps temps reasonable, but then I never even reach 253w under full load and I drop like 3-4000 points in cinebench.
Man, I am super frustrated with the 14900k. I have a 360 AIO and if I select water cooler in bios to make its pl1, pl2, and current unlimited, I am hitting 100c instantly. Early on, someone told me to disable enhanced turbo, but that didnt seem to make much of a difference, so I reenabled it ( I also have no clue what it does). I've dropped lite load down to mode 8, but I'm still getting mid 90s with the occasional 100c hit. I downloaded xtu and basically used that to lower my limits to 280 pl1/pl2 and 375 current, and now I'm hiting the mid 80s to mid 90s but I just feel like its still not right. If I set it to the boxed cooler setting (253w limits, 307 current), and leave everything else default, I get temps in the mid to high 70s but I notice that the wattage never even reaches the set 235w during cinebench. It only hits like 205w. In XTU its constantly saying that im current/edp limit throttling. I just dont know and I feel like in order to get decent temps, Im losing out on a lot of performance. I have installed a cpu bracket and repasted my aio as well. Just super frustrating.

When are you gonna make a video on how to overlock Intel Core I9 14900k cuz I have a Core I9 14900k and can’t run it at all not with default settings or overclocked settings without it crashing computer?
@@aidanpremium9870 a couple of basic things, In order of least to most difficult Try a different outlet on the wall or different room To make sure the power cables are secure and fully plugged in. 24pin, video card, cpu 8 pin etc etc With XMP disabled reseat the ram separately I.e. put one stick in see if it works. If not so try the other stick one see if it crashes. At this point, I would start getting the RMA forms ready But one other common cause is a bad a bad cpu cooler mount. Try remounting it with fresh thermal paste. Make sure you use enough. As far as brands, I use thermal grizzly but that’s pretty expensive. arctic MX4 is a lot of peoples go to and it’s pretty and expensive If neither of those work, RMA ram, motherboard and CPU You paid good money for working product and your issue could be one of those all of those doesn’t matter. I miss the msi bios I've moved to asus apex but preferred the msi bios. Anyway keep up the great content thanks for sharing! Strangely my 13900kf gets 42k cinebench r23 at all core 5.7 how is that possible?
Same. I moved from MSI to Apex because there was no Unify-X and I can't stand this ASUS bios. Everything is all over the place, too many different tabs and they have like a billion voltages under weird names.
What's your opinion of TVB? Is it usefull? With your guide I get around 41000 points in Cinebench, but I reach the 100 degrees temp limit and my Core VIDs go up to 1,410 V. What should I do next? Max Vcore is 1,394 V.
A CB score like that is what you get from a stock i9 13900K. The moment you start overclocking, you start pulling 300W, then the 280 AIO will have it's work cut out.
@@Bang4BuckPCGamer but you really don’t need 300w to obtain high scores on CB, I can achieve 42k and my temps stay at 77c with 260-270w also depends on the board you use as they impact the cpu as well.

I think I responded to one of your previous comments so I will just give you some tips. First tip is abandon any hope of running XMP 7800MHz with 4 sticks of ram. It is basically impossible with DDR5 at that speed. With the crashing while running cinebench, that could be due to thermal limits. Try selecting air cooler as the option in the bios and try again. That will reduce the power limit and make things easier on your cooling solution.

When are you gonna make a video on how to overlock Intel Core I9 14900k cuz I have a Core I9 14900k and can’t run it at all not with default settings or overclocked settings without it crashing computer?
If it’s not running default settings, then there’s definitely something wrong. It’s rare but it happens.

In order of least to most difficult
Try a different outlet on the wall or different room

make sure the power cables are secure and fully plugged in.
24pin, video card, cpu 8 pin etc etc
With XMP disabled reseat the ram
separately
I.e. put one stick in see if it works. If not so try the other stick one see if it crashes. At this point, I would start getting the RMA forms ready
But one other common cause is a bad a bad cpu cooler mount. Try remounting it with fresh thermal paste. Make sure you use enough. As far as brands, I use thermal grizzly but that’s pretty expensive.
arctic MX4 is a lot of peoples go to and it’s pretty and expensive

I am getting 39k with 86 degrees max with stock ratios and undervolted with cpu lite load and llc and i have a 420er aio.
39k is normal for a stock i9 13900k.
you managed to get up to 7600mt on the memory while my memory is rated at 7200mt and I can hardly go up to 6000mt. Also without my CPU overclocked I can't even stress test the cpu without it crashing, any idea what the problem might be?
I miss the msi bios I've moved to asus apex but preferred the msi bios. Anyway keep up the great content thanks for sharing! Strangely my 13900kf gets 42k cinebench r23 at all core 5.7 how is that possible?
When under heavy load my cpu is also at 5.7ghz all core so that checks out
@Bang4BuckPCGamer well at least under light load you get a great boost 👍

What load line calibration level and cooling solution are you using? You can't do much until you get those temps under control.
Does cinebench lock the cpu at 3ghz? Mine shows 3.19ghz
Also my single core score with a i9 14900k was only 1864 on cinebench r23
I only have a 280 AIO cooler and temps my don’t go over 70c at 244 watts with a CB Score of 39800.
Thanks, 14900kf runs great on this. Only issue I have is with XMP. I have corsair dominator 6400. 4x32. With 2x32 runs perfect but with 4 it doesn't boot, only with 4000mhz so xmp disable. I have tried everything but can't make it work. Any idea?
Can you do a video figuring out the 14900ks with this msi z790 mb please?
Not possible. I own an Asus Encore now.
Thanks for your guide bro! I try it right now. My hardware setup is similar to yours, but after all tweaks a have blue screen. Also, when I setup vf point offsets, in last 11 point I see only "x58", and there's no x61... what I'm doing wrong?
After blue screen, I'm reboot and go to bios again, and now I've got vf point 11 x61 and fix numbers. Maybe now it will works... And I have older bios, then yours, 09/06/2023, but it looks similar. I don't think, that it can make big changes...
And please show your PC, what kind of aio you use? Is it custom?

My cinebench close up after doing a test with this settings :( i9-14900k What can be wrong here
Have you considered direct die?
I run my 13900k with an iceman direct die block and external mo-ra3 420.
I run 5.9 all core, 1.390v adaptive and LLC6. Cinebench r23 droops voltage to 1.330v, pulls about 400w and stays at 70c core max. Looking at your temp delta between coolant and cores I’d say you would probably drop 15c on core temps with iceman block.
I’ve played with 2 core boost etc but it messes with my ddr5 8000 stability. My mobo is the msi z790i.
I also see you’re not using tvb anymore. I found when I used tvb it disabled any LLC settings. I just couldn’t get it to play nice
I dont need it. I plan to sell my 13900K once I decide to upgrade. That wouldn't be easy if I've voided my warranty and opened it. Temps are not an issue for me.
@@Bang4BuckPCGamer yeah that’s fair. I never consider resale value lol but I have a kid who gets my hand me downs when I upgrade.
I love the rad out the window. I’ve been making the most out these cold nights too. I made a shroud for the mo-ra and use a bathroom extractor fan with 150mm ducting to pump cold air in. I was down in the single digit core temps too. Managed 44k cinebench at under 70c and 30350 tinespy cpu score
I’ll try and frame this as clearly as I can. I have a z790 edge wifi board with a 13900k. I followed all your steps here, using slightly lower speeds for each p core. How did you get your bios cpu speed to say 6.10ghz? My highest core is at 6.00ghz, but my bios cpu speed only reads as 5.70ghz, which is the lowest I have set.
can I ask you, do you run your custom cpu loop rads fan speed based off water temp or cpu temp?
I base it on my cpu temp

Maybe i need to play with some watts but i dunno anything about it so i dont wanna harm it.
The second thing is when i run cb24 multicore bench the app freezing. Can’t go test it on cb. Also tried cb23 as soon as i start on multi test its freezing. Both app working on single core bench.
My cpu cooler is MSI MEG CoreLiquid S360 360mm.

Any advice boss? (Just a gamer pc, nothin about bench or any other stuff btw)
