    Dielectric grease, the one major thing anyone disconnecting and reconnecting wires, terminals, or wiring harnesses should have in their tool box. Especially, on those electric heater wires for that mirror. Promotes conductivity and resists corrosion in the future. Great video and thank you for the valuable info.

    I bought a 60 Canadian dollar mirror off of Amazon and this video did the trick- thanks Cyd! Per it's description on Amazon, this mirror is a press-fit without the clip/spring and clicked in quite nicely. I'll update here if it falls off tomorrow....

    My mirror glass fell out yesterday reversing off the drive. Smashed to pieces. :-( had already watched this vid out of curiosity so knew were to look for guidence. Priced up a universal mirror at Halfords and that was around £15.00 checked Amazon out and was surprised to find a saab copy available for £10.90 delivered the next day. So was fitting it today using cyclone cyd's video as a guide, worked a treat but could not get new mirror to snap into its locating tabs, on inspection I noticed the retaining clip on new mirror was misshapen, swapped with the old broken mirror and it snapped on to the locating tabs perfectly. Thanks for your time making these vids Cyd. Vinny. :-)

      @@CycloneCyd Thanks Cyd, funny enough looking at pic on amazon of the mirror I purchased you can clearly see the clip on back of mirror is mishaped, at two corners you would not get it to locate, deffo best use the original clip out of old mirror. :-)

    Just used this guide to take my mirror off in order to inspect the motor mechanism, whereupon I found that both the white nylon "arms" had their ball ends popped out from the "ring". (no doubt from a knock, before I owned the car). I re fixed them, only time will tell if they come out again (one looked ever so slightly less than happy but after much test adjusting it stayed in), but in any case I can now be sure which part I need to order if I have to. Good stuff.

    I'm really struggling to replace my driver side mirror. I've got the right mirror part but it's like in a casing that I'm baffled by. My mechanic is very good but he can't get the the right part or know how to fix it. There are also two wires that appear to be soldered onto the mirror. My car is a standard 2007 9,3, is there any way I can show you photos of my wing mirror and ask for your advice?

      On my 2010 sportwagon the two little heater wires are corroded solid. I'm leaving them soaking in electrical contact cleaner, but they are very delicate and need to be waggled to release I think. I may have to replace the glass and the heater wires as I'm stripping the casings down for paint. But its a tricky one!

    Yesterday my driver side fell as im turning left. ...... Sloooooow...motion 😱 mmh (deep raspy voice )Nooo !!😳(glass shattred) 😢 so i came back home because here in California it is illegal to drive without a side mirrors. Is not worth it. so i should get the mirror tomorrow. I finally saw two Saabs .. I had to used a pump to get the excess coolabt that stays in the engine i conected the pump to the hose that connects to the after i took the coolant from the engine i saw improvement and until i did the switch of coolant the car was more steady before the needle pointed normal temperature but the engine was over heating it was odd. If you ever get a chance to do a dreadlock when the key gets stuck at the driver door

    Two days ago i made a right turn n splahhh i heard glass and i was naw the side mirror is glass??? I always thought side mirrors were like fake plastic glass ... • @CycloneCyd
      @CycloneCyd  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's the heat. The mirror heater and hot climates dry out the glue layer that holds the glass on and it eventually falls off. I re-glued mine before I started this channel or I'd do a video
