Great video! As well, i have an issue about the folding operation.Actually there is no operation when i push the folding button, but i am hearing the silenoid motor turning (without folding mirror) for a few seconds!I suppose that the damage is comming from the spring that holds the mirror over the silenoid motor.Could you make a video, how to disassemble by secure, the mirror? In that case we should see the spring, so by a screw driver, we can turn it to the rigth direction and solve the issue. It' s a very common problem for SAAB 9-3 MY 2003-2007.Thank you.

Yes u can, remove the glass, while the mirror is attached and u should have enough access to release the taps (u will have to move the mirror between fold and unfold position)
I have also the same issue with my car. How did you know which mirror engine was faulty? On my Saab 9-3 2010 Sportcombi TTiD when I press the folding button nothing happens even if the car is equipped with folding door mirrors.
@@TheFlyingMechanicDIY Ok, is the driver door module situated in the door? The button for the tilting for passenger side works. Will there be any failure code related to this? I have A SID2 in the OBDII outlet that can read failure codes.
Alexander Wänerberger the driver door module is the window buttons panel actually, i dont know if eSid will get those types of B codes, but sure tech2 will .
@@TheFlyingMechanicDIY I removed the switch unit/controller for the side mirror on the A pillar on the driver door. Behind it you could see the connectors to the side mirror. I see a black and a grey connector. The grey connector is the one for auto dimming and the folding function. For the Auto dimming there is a Yellow/white in inlet 1 and a yellow/black wire inlet 2. The wire for folding the mirror there is a Blue/violet wire in inlet 10 and there should be a Yellow/grey in inlet 8. What I could see was that the yellow/grey wire but it is not connect of some cause. I don't know for the moment how the passenger side looks like since there is no inspection hole on that side. I guess the someone have disconnected it I hope there is a crimp on it.
The issue was one of the wires on each side was removed from the grey connector. I have the function now but my left side mirror housing will not stop in correct position when unfoldning.
I guess u check the wiring harness to the mirror if it has the extra wires for it, if it has then u will need the buttons, the mirrors and some programming..
Hi. I'm gonna repaint this black "triangle" part that's attaching mirror to the car and I saw you left the metal part of your old mirror. Is it possible to also remove it?
on an 06 SC US model someone told me to get the door harness loom from an 03? and do you mind letting me know the part numbers for the switch controller?

One big question, why do you remove the whole door panel if that isn't necessary? Thank you.
Do you think it is possible to remove the backcover (silver part) without removing the whole mirror? Want to repaint it.

I dont think the mirrors are the issue, its probably the button or the driver door module .
U will need a tech2 to figure that out .

Because noone guessed, I guess the plastic clips broke off?. Btw can you easily add electric folding mirrors to a saab without them?

How did you get the damn control panel out? Did you just wedge it with the screwdriver?
Saab Rider , if u mean the mirror control panel, then yes after removal of the door inner panel it just pulls out

Sadly no. They are machined together

Emre Diril unfortunately you cannot, the motor is built-in to the metal frame of the motor, to remove it you may have to destroy the mirror.

How do you "fold" a piece of glass. The motor tilts the glass in various directions. You can not do Origami with glass. ROFLMAO 🤣🤣🤣🤣
