    This is the kind of project I wanted to build back in 2004-2005 but never got the detailed knowledge on how to do it. Back then I was completely self taught and just a regular curious dude, without much access to the internet etc. Then later got into web development stuff and never really went back to electronics. But it's nice to see how it's done, also with new components like arduino and wifi module which back then wasn't quite easy to find.

    Great jobs !!! For RC Plane, if you want to make it cheaper, you don't have to buy 20A Brushed ESC. Just add a Mosfet (for example: IRF3205), a diode and a resistor, then connect it to brushed motor. Of course you need to modify the receiver code. So, the Arduino control the mosfet using PWM. Cheers..... !!!

    Simple if you understand electronics. I've got supplies for experimenting but my health caught up with me. Hands aren't any good anymore. All my fingers are out of place. I can still use them but it puts stress on my muscles and that causes toxins to build up in me. Doctors told me one day I'll be doing an activity and suffer catastrophic organ failure just simply fall dead where i stand. Kind of scares me doing anything foolish. I joked with my dad I'm going to be cleaning the toilet and fall down dead. Told him he'd have to put on my tombstone I was killed by a toilet. Not that I want to die anytime soon but I don't want to be killed by a toilet. Kind of sucks not being able to do nothing. Thanks for the videos. I do enjoy watching other people be creative.

    These days everyone is using costly flight controllers and stuff. Its fun to watch this implemented without required sensors and GPS...etc. Thanks for making this video, making people realize that a plane can be flown with basic curcuitery as well, fancy flight controllers are not needed :P Thanks again :)

    I was wondering if it is possible to use my laptop keys as the servo controller. Use a wifi antenna as the receiver and the Arduino and wifi module as the transmitter. If possible could you elaborate a little?

    i suggest to use a 3.3v voltage regulator to the NRF24, the arduino regulator is not enough, that's why it hadn't enough signal range when u tested it

    It would really help if you released the unedited part without music and speed up with commentary/tutorial. Gives people more options and you cover the experiences people that understand at a blink of an eye what your doing and then for the newbies a solid background of what to think back on when I keep doing research.     With this setup is there a way to detect and disconnect/send warning, when the liPo (either in remote and motor) is reaching damaging discharge of about 6V?

      For remote I would just add lipo protection board, for plane same. If you want to get signal from plane, you should use same RF chip, as in remote, and then give led to blink, ar even better add OLED 0.96 screen on remote.

    What range do you have with just one transmitting antenna and no receiving antennas? I'm not sure if I should buy two "NRF24L01+PA+LNA". (I'm making a boat)

      70-80 meters (ground to air). For the surface it is much less. For more, both should be PA+LNA.

      The theoretical range is 300-500 meters. Soon I will test this remote with a model airplane and publish its video.

    Hocam yaptım valla yaptım çok mutluyum kumanda çalışıyor , aşırı mutluyum tam 1 senedir bu projeyi yapmaya çalışıyorum para biriktirip malzeme tedariği sağladım 3 ay içinde Arduino kullanmayı öğrendim küçük projeler yaptım 1 ay sonra lehim yapmayı öğrendim sonunda kendi kumanda mi yaptım Allah senden razı olsun, kumanda alsam 400tlm gidecekti ve bir heves olup gidecekti sayende Arduino kullanmayı öğrendim ve 100 TL'ye kendi kumandami yaptım.

    Greetings from Mexico. Is difficult for me to find all the materials. It would be great if you could post a diagram using brushless esc and motor (seems these parts are very common in mx). I am very new to this and can't figure it out on my own, also, can see other people is asking for the same.

      You can use brushless ESC and motor. There is no need for a change for this.

    You are using Arduino for controlling and NRF24L01 as wireless module, instead of using 2 components can we use only one component which has both functions for example can we use nodemcu esp8266?

    If i want to cotrol the motor forward and backwards, would i need a motor ic or do i also need another wireless module ? want to build a lego rc kit to control cars and have some additional functions...
    (did some arduino projects but never with the wireless modules)

      You need a motor driver IC or an ESC.

    ( FIXED )) Hi I actually made this and for some reason It doesn't seem to be transmitting , when I plug in the battery to the transmitter , it lights up red as normal, and plugging in the receiver makes the servo come to a position and stop, its always a little movement and stops . But when I use the joysticks it doesn't work ( and no leds seem to show that it's receiving data ) wonder what went wrong?. Btw I did exclude the esc and directly connected the positive line to the servos . Maybe that was thr issue ? ( I need to control 4 servos with thus without an esc )and the servos are sg995 ,
    Edit : turns out there was a short circuit in the transmitter pins , fixed that and works fine ( best way to check this is try to reupload the code to the arduino and if it doesn't allow you to upload and give you that avr dude error , it's something that could be with a short circuit )

    i have a question i did it like in the video but there is lightning the tx on the receiver. i am not that deep in electronics but it cant load
    the programm on the receiver if the light is blinking do you know how i can fix it or what can be the problem. i built it the third time now and its still not working

      I recommend watching my video tutorial on installing the code. You can try to upload it before making any rc-related circuit connections to the arduino. So you can understand whether the problem is with the arduino or with your connections.

      If you're having trouble uploading to the arduino, it's not about the circuit and the code. There may be a problem with your Arduino. Or there may be a problem with the USB dirver.@@nikeytuqe6515

One wire is the problem. if i connected it i cant upload and the tx is blinking but if i dont connect it it upload and the tx isnt blinking, but it still doesnt work because the wire i am talking about is the on which is connected to the D2 from the arduino and the ESC .
