  • This was filmed at the October 2023 Autocross race in Carpio, North Dakota. These races are sanctioned by Badlands Region SCCA.
They take the safety of all participants very seriously. Please do not try this at your local truck stop.
I spoke with Ethan S. the driver of this car and how people give him a lot of grief for racing a V6 Mustang. His response was simple “they give me crap but I don’t see any of them here today”. I would love to see this fuel injected V6 Mustang run against a V8 powered Mustang from the 60’s & 70’s. I think the modern fuel injected V6 would out perform a stock cast iron V8 from back in the day.
It’s important to have a little bit of fun in life. Personally I don’t want to be the best or fastest around. I just want to do better today than I did yesterday. Learn something new everyday. Have some fun. Focus on myself and what I’m doing and hope that others are doing the best that they can…. even if that means they’re better and faster than I am.
There’s nothing wrong with racing a V6 mustang with an automatic transmission. BRSCCA has 2 category’s “Final Raw Times” and “PAX”. PAX results use an algorithm and is similar to the points system in nasscar. A V6 car with an automatic is far more predictable and consistent than a big V8. They don’t get going nearly as fast so they don’t have to slow down for the corners as much. It’s a trade off in Autocross racing and I’ve seen some 4 cylinder automatics dominating the PAX category in Autocross racing nationwide.
One last thing I might add is that many of the Autocross cars are trailer queens that never see public roads. Ethan drove his car to the event and then drove it home. There’s something to be said about that.
    Thank you for your time.
