When I was young they where everywhere ,I wish I kept some of the items I bought ww2 and Korea . Around the corner was a smelter who had freight cars of Brass and vehicles being smelted . I spent a lot of time collecting brass and what ever else I could find . The workers chased us away , but it was fun .
i was thinking in my head that i wish i had that surplus store nearby and when i searched it up its very close to me and seems to have all the stuff i want and need
The army navy stores I remember smelled of used canvas, used uniforms, canteens carried in service. My basis training we were issued WWII canteens, covers, web belts. Not new issue.
Have some Netherlands DPM, trousers, shirt, & 3layer parka. Well made, harder to find in my metric size nowadays, but still fits. Thicker textile blend for climate I suppose.
Always love checking out surplus stuff unfortunately the store in my area is closing cause the couple that owns it is In there 80s and by the time I was into this sorta thing they already had very limited stock what luck
I'd be all over those ERDL jackets and C rations
