- 1917. I wore my WW1 German Uniform to school. My friends and I dressed up as world war one soldiers. Me and Mav as Germans and Korbin as a US Doughboy. This reminds me of the new movie 1917 by Sam Mendes. It was super embarrassing bc I was a WWI GERMAN at HIGH SCHOOL! This is also celebrating the 101 year anniversary of the end of the first world war! Being uploaded on 11/11/2019! This is like a Senior Prank or School Dare! My great grandfather was a WW1 german soldier. Now I know what his uniform looked like. A bit of his story, when the war ended he was stuck in Russia. He had to hide from everybody because people where still killing enemy soldiers. He made the two week trek back home with no food and nearly starved to death. I wish I could have asked my great grandmother more about it on her 100th birthday, but I was only 10 and wasn't interested in history much.

So, I'm an aussie, and last year, one of my friends (who's persian, but looks like your generic middle eastern guy) just rocked up for muck up week (basically a week of Year 12s causing chaos and wearing costumes and shit at the last week of term 3) in a full, perfectly pristine WW1 ottoman uniform. He got so many weird looks at first, but then everyone laughed it off and realised he was just having fun. I love the helmet so much! Also the accuracy is awesome! I'm hoping that I'll learn more about Germany during and prior to WW1 but it seems usually my history classes only focus on Nazi Germany and Hitlerr.
