Well, Kulas, a few cracks are not bad. Things can be repaired but not live as we know. I'm glad to see back with Kumar in Cateel, and what about Mama Rose 🌹? How are she and her family? Keep it up, guys.
@@BecomingFilipino G'DAY, Kulas you don't know what's going on while you are away, FROM Philippines.. when you got back you can see your place... just a bit of damage...the main thing the People are still Safe ...by the way, I couldn't see BRET in your vlog at this time and your place looks DEFFIRENT now that KUMAR plant something in your backyard....it's nice...good luck keep Safe and the people around you..CHEERS!!
Check behind the wall where cracks occurred if there are also cracks; if none then is it superficial temperature crack, if through and through and there is a floor above, then it has to be checked by Single Engineer and remedial measures had to be done.
Congrats single engineer! I also learned from my dad to use my knuckles to knock on cracked concrete walls. If it sounds hollow, then it is a superficial crack, nothing to worry about. :)@@workfromhomebuddy3683
I think about your home 🏠🏡 your safety 🦺🛟 for everyone.its nature can happen everywhere but the most important it.God saved Us 🙏❤for all disasters.im always watching your Vlogs very informative and relief my stress.mabuhay kulas🎉
Kumar's little propagation gardens are very clever. Made me think of Madman and the fact that it's been a while since he was last in your vlog. I hope everything is going well for him. Please share an update on him and send him Christmas wishes on behalf of your followers. I'm sure I'm not the only one. 🙏🤙
Vertical cracks are fine, they can stay like that without a problem. It’s the horizontal cracks that you have to watch for specially if it progresses to a larger crack
When earthquake with almost the same magnitude hit our City (Baguio City) in 1990, I was 2 years old. I was not aware of anything but according to my dad, It was just me and my great grandmother in the house. My older siblings were in school, my mom was at work too. My dad ran from his workplace going home since roads were all closed. Adrenaline pumping and he did not feel tired as he was so worried about us. No cellphones or anything were invented at that time so there was no way to contact us so he just ran. The moment he reached home, he was so surprised that our house stood firm with just cracks like yours. Me and my grandma were safe. That was when his collapsed as he felt the tiredness from running how many kilometers just to see us. I am so glad you and the guys are okay..Stay safe everyone!
Mama Rose evacuated too to the mountains because she was forced by relatives and friends although she herself continually checked the seas. Pero Mama Rose, kung mo recede, you may have no time to go to higher place kay walay high building nearby, flat ang Cateel.
Oh! Kulas, I guess that earthquake was felt mostly in the big island of Mindanao, & the small islands around. Our neighbour in Hindang, Leyte texted me yesterday saying they felt the shaking in our town, & also the news on t.v. said, the island of Bohol also felt the earthquake 3 days ago. I hope the " big one " is not gonna come at all ! It will be a big catastropic disaster for the Philippines, if it will! God help! Take care you guys!
Liking the off the grid life! Hope your adventures always make you curious to learn and grow. Happy holidays, Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year. All the best monsieurrrrr!
Kulas, the Philippine islands, and especially the areas close the beach, will always have differential settlement. Thus making cracks inevitable. Even inland, since the country is an archipelago and surrounded by water, experiences a significant amount of precipitation, saturating the soil, making it soft, muddy, soggy. This also creates a perfect condition for differential settlement of any structure. Of course a way to mitigate this effect would be to drive down deep piles for structural base foundations etc. The islands being within the pathway of the pacific rim of fire makes it conducive to mother nature's temper tantrums (volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, typhoons, etc). Btw, I grew up in Iloilo City and saw concrete walls crack throughout my childhood. Now I reside in Canada and have worked as an architect for 15+ years. I miss IC.
Hope you see the impact in Baganga sir, I just wanted to look the situation bcuz my ex still there working at ComSat. Hope she is safe even though we are no longer together. Thank you and God bless, im a friend of Married Engineer Mikel Muniza.
Cracks on your house is nothing, that is normal in the Philippines. That is why we usually make our house out of steel and concrete, compare to US and Canada which is usually made out of wood and flyboards (gypsum boards or fly ash boards). No need to worry bro. your Engineers are good and they know what they are doing while making your house.
Your house Kulas and so with others in Mindanao are so durable and if that6.9 magnitude hits other countries like the one recently in Afganidhtan with similar magnitudes it does massive destructiins and kills more than 6 thousand peoole.
Glad to see that the damage to your balay was minimal. Also happy to know that no one got hurt in Cateel. I hope the rest of Mindanao made out as well. I laughed so hard when I saw your hardware kuya made the mano po with you 6:29! 🤣 Talk about making you feel old. Haha! Awesome coffee press they gave you!

I was thinking the same thing. This should be checked by not single anymore engineer.

You have a very nice place Kulas. A very unoque environment. Thanks God everything is alright after the eartquake.
Normally the plastering will crack first but if its little dont need to worry that much.

Hey Kulas. I tuned out for a few months while you were traveling. Great to see you back in Cateel. I'll try to stop by one of these days to say hello.
So your thumbnail and was worried. Good to see only minor damage. Some people were not so lucky.

If you are afraid that the cracks might progress, there a system to pump in epoxy into the cracks to seal it back stronger.
Yeah there's a special injector for sealing those cracks. We store in cool area like refrigerator.
Just be careful, man. We cannot wish for anything at this point. And pray. This goes to all of us.
❤stay positive and power on❤much love ❤peace❤
your house is still sturdy considering 7.4 intensity is quite strong

Yes those cracks are just from the finishing cement and those are the first one to crack.

Lots of shaking in our kubo up the road from you in Lambajon.
There's a product or specific cement to repair and compact the cracks of the wall

Single low grade bricks. You should have built out of the wider bessa blocks, although costs more but will not crack like that
Glad everyone is safe.
Cool respect privacy banner. I’m sure you have a lot of viewers who feel like your best friend. Like me 😂

As long the slab and columns is sound its safe. The cracks is superficial.
yup, all good with the columns

Most are just superficial cracks. It is only the plaster that cracked.
Be worried if the columns were bulging or broken.

You plant also lemon grass and some malungay
Are there any Fish in the Hot spring?
Is manga all season there?
Nothing a little silicone and fresh paint can't hide.
Where is Bret?
Thats common on the PI, specially if your house is made out of cement
Those cracks need to be reinforced. As water might penetrate it which may lead to leaks
Perhaps have one of the engineers go over the house just to make sure? Better safe than sorry.
Amping Kanunay Brod
I hope everyone is fine❤Keep safe always🍂🍁🙏🙏
