Once I learned how to use my Bosch dishwasher I learned to like it. However, Bosch really, really should pay attention to all of the comments on this page. I can relate to most of them. It shouldn’t be this difficult to understand this expensive dishwasher. A paper Quick Start Guide should be included with the dishwasher that explains the buttons and how to adjust the racks. This could be accomplished on a single piece of paper and would have eliminated 90% of the complaints here.
Manual not helpful when the buttons are frozen no display don’t get ripped off by Justanswer online so called expert service. They charge 52 $ and the expert never calls
I've had this dishwasher for a little over a month now. It takes a little time to get used to how to use it. I paid quite a bit of money for this dishwasher and I was afraid that I chose in the wrong one. But I've figured it out and it works great. A lot of the reviews say it doesn't dry the dishes well with this new crystal dry. But once you know how to use it it works great. The buttons have a very light touch. You first lightly touch the start button and then you very lightly touch the cycle you want. I found it best to use heavy or normal and then use both sanitize and crystal dry. The dishes come out immaculate and they're very dry. Of course there's always going to be a drop or two of water on some things. That is just the way it is. But the dishes come out pretty much 99% dry. I am very happy with the Bosch 800 series. I enjoy the top third rack for the silverware. It frees up the bottom rack to add a few more items.
thank you! something in plain english- I've had Bosch dishwasher bbefroe- this one (we got a 500 series) seems unnecessarily complex and i was ready to hate it
We have only done 2 loads of dishes and both time everything was soaking wet. Clean, but soaking wet. I had to dry things on a rack on the counter. I will try to get the dry cycle to work but why in the world is it called Crystal Dry? S/B just dry. Makes it seems like it is something special only for crystal.
Found the machine user friendly. Operated first load without referencing the manual but decided to check out the video for useful tips. Glad I did. Very useful! Thanks.
This Appliance is too smart for its own good I just installed it and I cannot even get it to run a simple quick start. What happened to the dishwasher being a dishwasher turn it on, load it, run it! It's not that hard but apparently it is😢. It's so convoluted I can't get it to run a simple load!
@lawnchair13 We apologize if you are experiencing difficulties with your Bosch dishwasher. Our customer service team can provide real-time troubleshooting and support. They can be reached by calling 1-800-944-2904. Thank you.
@@christinaeckhart2784 Not really. If you just press the power button and don't press the express wash button before selecting your cycle, it won't let you select anything but "normal" with no sanitizing/drying options. You also can't connect to wifi without pressing the magic express cycle button...something that is not explained in the manual. 😕 Thank God for the comments on this page so I could finally figure these things out and actually use my expensive new washer!
The video was really helpful, unlike the Bosch manual and Bosch materials. It is not a user friendly machine until you get good instructions - which should be coming from Bosch. Now I need to figure out how to load more than 4 wineglasses
Unsolicited comment here…. There was a preexisting Bosch 800 Series installed int the home we purchased two years ago. It’s extremely quiet and thoroughly cleans. Highly recommended based on wwour experience.

No kidding - Bosch really screwed up with this user interface. My poor parents were ready to send it back it was so confusing for them. Even I had to read the manual to try and get an idea of they were trying to get us to do. BIG TIME FAIL. It is a DISHWASHER, not a rocket ship. It should be SIMPLE.
Hi Raquel, thank you for your question. The unit should beep at the end of the cycle, however not during. We're happy to troubleshoot this with you, please connect with us at 800-944-2904. Thank you!
We just got our new Bosch SHP78CM5N dishwasher yesterday, and I greatly appreciate the info about the racks in the video. The online manual leaves much to be desired regarding explanations as to how to actually operate the machine. Last night, I tried to select "auto" to run a load that had a pan with baked on food stains. When I selected auto, the light would flash and then turn off. The only cycle I could select that the light would stay on was the normal cycle. It also wouldn't allow me to select sanitize and crystal dry. I ran the normal cycle, hoping for the best. Everything came out clean except for the pan. After reading through the comments this morning, I noticed a comment about pressing the express cycle button before selecting your desired cycle. I tried that on my dishwasher to rewash the pan to see if the heavy cycle would clean it, and I was successful in being able to select the desired cycle and sanitizing and drying cycle. I agree with other commenters that operating a dishwasher shouldn't be this complicated. So far, I haven't been able to get the dishwasher to connect to my wifi. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
I saw another YT video where the guy explained how to connect to wifi. After downloading the Home Connect app and creating an account (if you don't already have one), you have to press the "remote start" button on the dishwasher until the wifi light turns on. While standing next to the dishwasher, on home connect, you "add new appliance" and connect to your wifi as directed.
@@segoi11 Thank you so much for the suggestion regarding wifi, but doing that didn't work. After many unsuccessful attempts of pressing the "on" button, then pressing the "remote" button, I tried pressing the magic "express cycle" button before selecting the "remote" button, and voila(!), it worked, and I was finally able to connect to wifi! Why these steps aren't clearly explained in the manual is beyond me.
I personally don’t think is necessary to watch a video to start a dishwasher machine 🙈 But here I am . Non sense. All I need it’s the dishes cleaned. It should be 1 f button?😂😂☀️🙈
OMG EXACTLY. I don't need wifi and remote start. Just give me a good, reliable cleaning machine with a couple of no-brainer buttons. It's midnight. I just want to run the damned dishwasher, not program a rocket. I hate this new monster in my kitchen. What have I done?! 😱
I don’t mind extra features, but there should be a simple default that works for most cases. We got ours a month ago. I thought it cool that it would connect to an app via wifi, but when I then tried to start it via that app, the options button & the start button did nothing. Possibly they are greyed out, but i cant tell because they all look the same. Fine, we can start it manually but it still annoys me to have an app that doesn’t seem to work. If nothing else, if i click on a disabled button, especially as a first-timer, it could & should pop up a helpful balloon explaining what I need to do to enable that button.
My expensive 800 series SHP78CM5N/22 was installed yesterday. The installer turned on the dishwasher (normal cycle and without dishes) to make sure that it was working properly and it seemed to do so. 2 hours later, it seemed to be done. When I opened the dishwasher door this morning, the inside was sopping wet-not just a few droplets, but sopping wet. I didn't clean it up-just went about my day. It's 5:00pm now and just opened the door again to put dishes in the dishwasher and the inside is still sopping wet. My old, relatively inexpensive Whirlpool actually dried the dishes without having to turn on a dryer button. I would expect this very expensive dishwasher to perform better than the old Whirlpool. Very much regretting my decision to buy this expensive dishwasher now.
Hi, thanks for reaching out. We're sorry to hear this has been your experience. Please know that your feedback is very important to us and will be shared with the appropriate teams for additional consideration. Your dishwasher is designed to dry using the PureDry® condensation drying system. This is an energy-efficient, closed-drying system that does not pull in outside air or use an exposed heating element. This process works by heating the dishes with hot water during the final rinse. The cooler stainless steel pulls moisture from the dishes. The inside of the unit will be wet at the end of the cycle, but the dishes should be dry. It's important to note that plastics don’t retain heat as well as other dishware materials and don’t dry as well. To improve drying results, we recommend turning on the Intensive Drying feature. For any product-related inquiries or support, please contact Bosch Customer Care at 800-944-2904 for real-time assistance. Thank you.
@@BoschHomeAppliancesNAmerica I ran the dishwasher again last night on Auto and then selected BOTH Sanitize and Crystal Dry. (I don't have anything called "Intensive Drying"). I had to hand towel all of the dishes this morning. Our old Whirlpool got the dishes dry without even selecting the Dry function. And BTW, when I lightly touched the Sanitize and Crystal Dry (per instructions), a little light appeared, but then quickly went off, so I had no idea if it actually selected those features. There is no way to tell. We paid nearly $1600 for this dishwasher and our old, less expensive Whirlpool was MUCH better. Bought the dishwasher at Lowe's and a technician is coming out. I'm considering replacing this with another, more reliable dishwasher and probably not Bosch. We love our Bosch fridge, but this dishwasher is horrible and not at all worth the high price!
@@BoschHomeAppliancesNAmerica The names of the drying options are confusing and unintuitive. I too have an 800 series and there is no Intensive Drying button, only Sanitize and Crystal Dry. Sanitize doesn't seem to have anything to do with drying dishes and Crystal Dry implies you are drying crystal glasses. Who does that every day? Why isn't there a simple Dry Button???? Or call it Pure Dry? That would make sense. And why do we each have to call Customer Care to learn how to turn on the Intensive Drying feature? Why can't you just tell everyone here???????? We are regretting this purchase too.
I agree the dishes don’t really completely dry. Everything is a little wet and I tweaked all the settings they want you to use jet dry to help with this and that’s recently been found to be bad for your gut health as it has ethyoxylates, which are toxic to your gut see FOOD ALLERGY AND GASTROINTESTINAL DISEASEVolume 151, Issue 2P469-484February 2023

TIP, to change wash cycle settings Press the Start button and hold 3 seconds. Its a Reset. Then press Start and wash cycle of choice. You have to do Reset or cannot switch.
Once you select options and press start, you’ve 4 seconds to close the door otherwise the dishwasher will reset. This is a safety measure for kids, at least in the 800 model I have. Also, the APP is very convenient, not easy to setup, but once set, it saves time and effort to choose the settings.
Great product, but why no cycle complete light? There's a white light on the door while the unit is washing. Couldn't this change to say, green, to show the dishes are clean?

Hey Bosch! You need to edit your user manual for the Bosch 800 series. When going to basic settings your manual states "Press SETUP 3 SEC. for 3 seconds." You need to edit this to "Press EXPRESS for 3 seconds." I've been pressing the SETUP button for 3 seconds and nothing was happening thinking that it's a separate button when it's actually the EXPRESS button that needs to be pressed for 3 seconds to enter the basic settings menu.

My Bosch is great, it is very, very worth the price paid! We bought ours during a low inventory period, our store only had the smallest model available. I plan to buy the largest one, store it for future use.
I’m here after downloading the app to see if this video had any helpful pointers. Yes this intro to the racks was a bit helpful. I’d like to see a troubleshooting video. It would have been helpful 11:00pm last night when I couldn’t figure out why my 2 month old dishwasher would not start. The red light on the floor just kept blinking. I tried resetting the dishwasher. Turning the breaker off as suggested somewhere I think in the Bosch troubleshooting section. It turns out the handle on a mug I loaded in the middle rack was sticking out in the back of the dishwasher. Even though the door latch clicked closed, apparently the dw door latch signaled that it was not closed properly I guess?? after turning the mug so the handle was facing toward the middle a bit solved the puzzle. I had to search the internet for the answer to this mystery. Frustrating.

Just installed my new Bosch. Have downloaded the app. I can’t find a setting for the rinse cycle. Really disappointed that all the cycles aren’t available without the app.
My son is an IT professional and he had difficulty helping me get started. You tube and Google haven’t helped yet. My 2024 500 series does not have a little screen. The left side has a start button labeled “reset 4 sec” the right side the right side has an arrow symbol labeled “start resume”. Now explain how to use the “A” button- which is labeled “speed”. Where do I find directions on Home Connect?
Is there any way to use the Wi-Fi feature just in house and not send any feedback to Bosch (and whoever else) via the app? I am appalled at just how much personal information is required and consequently being collected to run the dw via the app. Do I really need to volunteer to receive marketing from Bosch just so I can run the app? I didn’t realize I can’t use some of the dw features unless I’m connected via the app. I deleted the app after read the user agreement and found it would invade my privacy. I feel ripped off paying for a model with Wi-Fi I’m unwilling to use. (If you don’t give the customer a choice you need to warn them of the liberal user agreement BEFORE they buy the dw ..😊so they can make an informed decision). Please do not tell me it’s for customer convenience to “better serve us”. Please do tell me Bosch was thoughtful enough to let their customers use Wi-Fi without invading their privacy.
Hello, we understand and appreciate your privacy concerns. As with other apps & digital devices, users can still use wifi features & opt out of sharing app usage data by selecting the settings icon -> privacy and usage -> tap the “Allow app analytics” toggle to turn it off. We hope this helps!
I can’t seem to get the remote “schedule” to work on Home Connect. I set the schedule and nothing happens when the time comes. I have to start it myself thru the app when I’m not around. I do love the dishwasher tho. It’s so versatile and cleans most efficiently.

Hi Mr Bosch USA. As my previous comments allude to, I’ve just bought mine today and thank goodness the classy interface is on the door. My question is this. I can’t find anywhere in the manual that goes over what auxiliary options match the programmes on the LHS interface of the machine. Eg, say I use auto wash, how many of the 5 auxiliary options on RHS of interface can I use. There are 7 options in away, but 5 main ones. Cheers.
@@BoschHomeAppliancesNAmerica Hi, Bosch Representative ! The model Bosch Series 8 serial number is : SMS8ZD101A. Free standing. So I appreciate any help with much gratitude from me. Apart from the top paragraph from me, if you can directly or indirectly tell Bosch from me, that hopefully they’ll make the interface touch screen less sensitive and finicky and over time they can make the user manuals more simple and concise. Anyway I could say this machine is the Ferrari of all machines. The mechanics and engineering and functional design are 2nd to none. Cheers NZ.
Thanks for providing the model number. Certain features such as Intensive Zone and Extra Dry are not meant to be used with gentle and express cycles as they are for delicate dishes and glassware. I am having fits where u don’t really understand the red floor light or the blinking red floor light or the beep when you start it. I keep thinking it is ready close it , see a red light and two hours later I see it never started. Also does the blinking red mean it is done? I guess they were too cheap to add a green light.
Are the indicator lights only related to delaying the wash? I found no explanation of the numbers or the 3 dots above in the 2-page quick start guide booklet. And the other documents that came with the dishwasher only pertain to installation.
Hi Cinde, the indicator lights at the top will illuminate for the following reasons: when the dishes have been sanitized, when they are clean, and when it is necessary to add rinse aid.
I just moved into a house with a SHPM65W52N/11. I cannot get it to actually work. Lights go on. time runs down but no actual cleaning happens. I am ready to replace it with something simpler, more mechanical that actually works!!!

On my 800 there is a flashing red light at the bottom of the righthand side of the door. The light is either on or flashing when the door is closed to start a cycle. What is the light for?

We're sorry to hear you're not getting the best drying results from your dishwasher. Here are some tips that should help: 1: The use of a rinse agent such as Finish® Jet Dry® rinse aid to help dishes dry faster. 2: For everyday use we recommend the Auto Cycle, which is best for mixed loads of dishes with varying amounts of food soil. 3: Selecting special drying options like Sanitize and Extra Dry, as these operate at a higher temperature and help enhance drying results. If these tips do not help improve drying, please contact our Customer Care team at 1-800-944-2904 for additional real-time assistance. Thank you.
We just bought/installed a Bosch 300 series dishwasher. We were instructed to do a 15 minute test cycle when running it. Sadly, there are no instructions on how to do this. Can you add this to your instructions?
LOL - i just installed a 500 and laughed about the same thing. Its like these things are designed by very smart people that are unable to relate to regular folk with regular sized brains :)
I do not want to have to use my phone to use my dishwasher. I do not want to scan a QR code to figure out how to work it, though I did and the brochure I got simply had 47 pages about all the features, no where did it tell you how to turn it on. I am very frustrated. I want to know how to turn on the jet dry option, how often to fill the jet dry port at this point. I have spent several frustrating hours on this over the course of 6 weeks and I still can't access all the features. That said, I now resort to putting it on normal. Not too satisfied with product. Would not have bought if I knew there would be no instruction manual and phone compatibility. Maybe I'm just too dated, but I'd like to load my dishwasher and push a couple of buttons and it works and does its job. Besides that, it's quiet and attractive. Seroiusly though, I could've hand washed all the dishes from the last 6 weeks in the time I've spent trying to figure this out.
Is there a way to look this dishwasher? We have never figured it out and often have kids open during a cycle and water sprays all over. It's great that it's so quiet but that's how they forget its on. 😳
I purchased a Bosch 300 series and have used it 4 times. The clean indicator light comes on for a couple of minutes at the end of the cycle and then goes off. So unless you are in the room you don't see the indicator. I contacted Bosch by email and they said "if you open the door or manually turn off the appliance the indicator will go off"...that is what i expected but it does not work this way. I was told to do a factory reset (tried but it didn't work). I expected more from Bosch and would like to resolve this issue.

I wish I could return my 3 day old $1300 Series 800 because despite it allegedly having a circulation fan to dry the dishes off according to the marketing wank, it leaves anything not constructed from ceramic or stainless steel very wet. I was going to buy a Kenmore or a Maytag for around $650 but I was talked into it by the 'appliance expert' at Home Depot who said the 800 series is seconded only by the Bosch Benchmark series (which costs two and a half mortgage payments - $2600) for its ability to dry plastic, silicone, and UHMW items. However, Home Depot will not accept a dishwasher return after 48 hours. Since I only need to wash dishes once a day, at the end of the day, I have only ran it twice. The first time I just hit 'normal' and wet dishes was the result. The second time I hit the Crystal dry function and normal and wet dishes was the result. I just hope that tonight when I run it again on 'auto', crystal dry, and sanitise (as some threads online say to do for the best drying) it will actually dry my dishes. If not, I got screwed by the guy at Home Depot who sold me a dishwasher at twice the cost but without the ability to finish the job it was supposedly designed to do.

I have the same frustration. Here’s what I do: After the cycle is done I shake the water off all plastics, slightly shake the 3rd rack, run a dish towel over the third rack’s edges, and then dry the inside of the door. This will take about a minute. Now jam a large rubber spoon between door and dishwasher to keep the door propped open slightly. (Mine snaps shut automatically). 30 minutes later all the dishes will be dry. I keep hanging up the wet towel to dry as to not use extra resources. After I found the longer cycles don’t do anything better than the 60 min cycle I only use the faster cycle. Now If Bosch would send me better top and bottom racks (the third rack is perfect) I’d actually like this dishwasher. However, the tines point the wrong way. Yes, I’ve watched the loading video. However, it’s not practical the way the tines are arranged and my dishes aren’t sitting tight. This is the longest it’s taken me to load a dishwasher, and I’ve operated a lot of dishwashers!
Not particularly happy that I have to use a rinse aid all the time in order to get dry dishes and dry interior of the DW. Also I am finding it difficult to add the rinse aid to the dispenser. How much should be added when the light goes on indicating the dispenser is empty? No indication when it is full.
How is the best way to add the jet dry? I seem to not have a reserve and need to add every time. And how many washes can you have before having to add more jet dry?

I'm trying to connect my used DW to power. The Dishwasher has a white wire , a black wire and a green w yellow stripe running along its length. Is the green w yellow stripe a ground or how do I connect to house white and black wires???
Hi Thomas, thank you for reaching out. We'd be happy to provide an installation manual for the dishwasher you purchased. Email our team with your model number at BoschCare@BSHG.com, we look forward to assisting!
Hi A, thanks for your question! Yes, you can open the dishwasher while it is in operation. Follow these steps to interrupt the wash cycle: 1. Press On/Off. The program is saved, and the appliance switches off. 2. Press On/Off. 3. Press Start to resume the wash cycle. If you have additional questions, please contact our customer care team at 1-800-944-2904 for real-time assistance. Thank you for choosing Bosch!
I have 800series super silence plus dishwasher..is “myway” rack suits it?..if yes..how can i buy that rack?..i feel it is more functional than the “flexible” one that is on my dishwasher..anyway..i hope Bosch redesign the ceiling shower..its coverage is poor..
Hello, thank you for your question. We're sorry to hear you're unhappy with the rack design of your Bosch dishwasher. We do not recommend modifying dishwashers from their original factory configuration.
I bought this one for the 24/7 leak protection as the last one we had not a 300,500 or 800 series we bought 12 years ago at Lowe's leaked and cause me much damage to basement. We had just spent of $160k to finish basement t after 13 years living here and the machine leaked lots of water. If not for my granddaughter going to watch t.v there it would have went on much longer probably collapsing my flor. So I like this has floats in ot for leak I also bought water sensors for added protection. Never hear of this happening again until my neighbours saw the machine on the curb. Guy two doors awa had same made it lasted him 9 years same issue. Two other peopl on my street had this happen so beware of leaks on dishwashers. I was lucky the client was drop clueing or would have been smashing drywall. I'm terrified of these machines now I hope it neve ver happens again. That's why I paid up.
Why does my Bosch dishwasher blink 3:00 and beep when the door closes after the cycle is complete? It does this every single time I wash a load of dishes. I have to manually press the on/off button so it will stop.
Hi Chriseekim, thanks for your question. For assistance please email BoschCare@bshg.com with the model number of your dishwasher. We can then provide you detailed instructions on how to activate the auto power off, if your model is equipped with this feature. Thank you.
Very impressed with my Bosch 800 with water softener (We have very hard well water). So well designed! However, I have one fear. Do the water softener pellets that exchange the salt with calcium ever have to be replaced? If so, how do you do this? Another problem of my own making. I find myself rinsing with multiple (9 minute cycles) as I add dishes during the day. Then, at the end of the day run an "express" cycle, with extra shine on the full load of rinsed dishes. I use detergent "pods", either Finish or Cascade. I suspect that using this method leaves soap residue, as at the end of the express cycle if I run a 9 minute rinse cycle, the water appears a little soapy. Therefore, instead of using the pods, I am going to try using a smaller quantity of liquid gel in the dispenser, only up to the first line. (allowing me to modulate my soap quantity, which I cannot do if I use the pods.).
Hi Richard, thanks for contacting Bosch. The salt reservoir would need to be refilled with the water softening salt, but the refill salt indicator will illuminate to let you know when it's time. We recommend using powder detergent if you can't use pods, and avoiding liquid detergents. If you have any further questions or concerns, you can always get in touch with our customer support team by calling 1-800-944-2904. Thanks for choosing Bosch.
Hi Pete, we appreciate you sharing the model number with us. The new Benchmark Series Dishwasher has something called VarioDrawer Pro. What is it? I can't find any info. Also, is there a way to turn off the laser light feature? I have dogs and they will destroy my floor trying to get to it.
Hi Lynette, thanks for reaching out and your interest in Bosch dishwashers. The VarioDrawer Pro is a different type of 3rd rack and can be viewed via this link here: tinyurl.com/y245rpjt. As for the InfoLight/TimeLight features, those can be turned off if you wish to.

4:43 i moved into a house with a bosch no manual watched this but it only seems to work in auto and that's 50% I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong or if there's something wrong with the dishwasher
That could be a fab dish washer but would not recommended those tablets you recommend for the dishwasher. Probably excellent foe everything but not glass.. Either use a soft tablet or don’t wash glasses in dishwasher. Glass get marked.
I noticed that the red light indicates it’s on and running. If there is a power outage, it will not show the light and once power is back on, it will continue to run its cycle from the point where it was interrupted.
Hi Alina, if this is the case, your unit is equipped with the InfoLight, not the TimeLight. The InfoLight will display a red LED to indicate whether the unit is running or not, however it will not display the time.
But then Bosch at India, says that finish tablet sold online are fake, so they recommend to use Bosch Detergent, salt & rinse aid only? confusing as to what to do? also should i descale the newly purchased dishwasher before i start loading utensils? Customer support said Descale once in 45 days? confusing please help
Hi Meena, thank you for reaching out. You've connected with Bosch Home USA. For Customer service in India, we encourage you to work with the Bosch India team. Thank you!
My dishwasher is sitting in the middle of my livingroom…..what they don’t tell you is that if you need to hardwire it in you have to order the component separately. Another money grab. Good thing the plumber hadn’t been scheduled yet. In the very least the appliance salesman should have given me a heads up and it would have been dealt with when unit was ordered!
Hello Susanne, thank you for reaching out to us. We are sorry to hear about your confusion on the installation requirements for your new dishwasher. When confirming installation requirements for an appliance we would recommend reviewing the appliance's specification sheet and install guide. These documents can be found on the appliance's product page under the Manuals tab, as well as by using the following link and entering your model number: bit.ly/3Qoe9pv
Thanks for the reply. As a consumer I would assume that when purchasing a product that may require additional accessories for installation that we would be advised by the sales person at the store, or at least be advised that a website exits that we need to visit for this type of information. What would be nice is that we would be able to exchange the power cord that came with the unit for the one required for installation. So as it stands I have to pay an additional $60 to receive an item that should have been included in the purchase/delivery and now have a power cord that is totally useless to me and will now end up in the local landfill.
Hi Susanne, thanks for reaching back out to us. We're sorry for your experience, and we apologize for the inconvenience this has caused. Yes, do not put anything in there and make sure that it is not blocked by anything.(in case you decide to place a small pan,or the like, on the top rack).
We have used liquid detergent in our Bosch for years. It works flawlessly. HOWEVER it is VERY IMPORTANT, is to USE VERY LITTLE DETERGENT. The Bosch is so efficient and it uses so little water that it cannot effectively rinse excess soap scum. It will gum up your dishwasher and leave a light residue of soap on your dishes. (Here kids, you are going to love breakfast today!) The effect is multiplied if you have soft water (or if you have a Bosch 800 model with the built-in water-softener). Soft water always means you need LESS soap. When using liquid dish soap... we use three or four fat-drops. That's it. Seriously. Barely enough to cover the bottom of the dispenser. It works beautifully. HOWEVER, If your water is hard (or you don't have the built-in water-softener) experiment a little. In a nutshell, don't use too much. If you do, change your name to Bubba, buy a gun, chip your diesel pick-up (so you can "roll-coal" on bikes and any Prius driver) and prepare to hate your Bosch. If Bubba lives in your home, the Finish tablets are generally a great solution. It is difficult to mess-up with them (though Bubba WILL find a way). 😛 Liquid soap works great if you have half-a-brain. Probably the same with powdered dishwasher-soap. Less is generally better.
I just used my 800 with crystal dry for the first time today. The red light turned off, so I opened it and the dishes were still clearly being dried. They were too hot to touch. If I let it go longer will there be a green light or something that turns on to signify drying is done and it is OK to open?

Once I learned how to use my Bosch dishwasher I learned to like it. However, Bosch really, really should pay attention to all of the comments on this page. I can relate to most of them. It shouldn’t be this difficult to understand this expensive dishwasher.
A paper Quick Start Guide should be included with the dishwasher that explains the buttons and how to adjust the racks. This could be accomplished on a single piece of paper and would have eliminated 90% of the complaints here.
amen- Bosch needs to pull their head out of their you-know-where
Bosch are demonstrably terrible at end-user ease of access 😂
I heartily agree. I was SOOOOOO frustrated.
Agree!
Manual not helpful when the buttons are frozen no display don’t get ripped off by Justanswer online so called expert service. They charge 52 $ and the expert never calls
FINALLY - this video is 1000000% better than the manual. if only there was a QR code to this
I've had this dishwasher for a little over a month now.
I don't have a crystal dry option.
Thank you.
You literally turn it on and press start. Some newer models have a long hold for power
I love our Bosch dishwasher. We did have to read the manual but it is so incredibly versatile for all our different loads. Love it!!
Thank you for the detailed explanation. Please can you explain the half load function. How to use it? Thank you
Hi, thank you for your interest. The half load feature is to be used for smaller, lightly soiled dishes.
Unsolicited comment here…. There was a preexisting Bosch 800 Series installed int the home we purchased two years ago. It’s extremely quiet and thoroughly cleans. Highly recommended based on wwour experience.
Bosch operating is confusing and sometime when you push buttons nothing happens so infuriating

Why these steps aren't clearly explained in the manual is beyond me.
just got mine today and i’m so excited to start using it! 😍
Getting to know your New DoshBishBoscher! Thanks so much for the vid!
I personally don’t think is necessary to watch a video to start a dishwasher machine 🙈
But here I am .
Same here
Very Clear demo thanks
Just got our new Bosch dishwasher

Thanks for showing clean the filter❤
Once you select options and press start, you’ve 4 seconds to close the door otherwise the dishwasher will reset. This is a safety measure for kids, at least in the 800 model I have. Also, the APP is very convenient, not easy to setup, but once set, it saves time and effort to choose the settings.
Very challenging. I’m hitting the start button and the timer just goes up. Very frustrating

Hi, thanks for reaching out. Could you please provide the model number of your dishwasher?
Figured things out but very confusing. Now that we’ve figured it out it’s actually easy. But way too frustrating to get to now liking it.
You guys made your disheasher suitable for IT specialists. SIMPLIFY the operations. And your user manual is useless!. Its not even model specific..
@@BoschHomeAppliancesNAmerica thank you, I’ll check it out.

Cheers.

Certain features such as Intensive Zone and Extra Dry are not meant to be used with gentle and express cycles as they are for delicate dishes and glassware. there is a loud click when you close the door, and a slight scraping sound too. should opening and closing it be silent? should you only grasp the handle in the middle to open and close

Hi, we apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate you bringing this to our attention. When the dishwasher is properly installed, you should be able to open/close the door simply by pulling or pushing the handle. Although you will hear a click when closing the door, you may want to consult a professional installer regarding the scraping sound. If you have additional product-related inquiries, please connect with our customer care team at 1-800-944-2904 for real-time assistance. Thank you for choosing Bosch.
I have a similar issue: loud click when closing the door and the door is stiff when opening, too.

I pull out and rinse my filter almost daily, rarely less than once a week. There’s always stuff in it.
I am having fits where u don’t really understand the red floor light or the blinking red floor light or the beep when you start it. I keep thinking it is ready close it , see a red light and two hours later I see it never started. Also does the blinking red mean it is done? I guess they were too cheap to add a green light.
If it's blinking it's been paused, someone likely opened the door, just hit start again.
@@christinaeckhart2784 Yes, I didn't know you had to start it again, I would have thought just closing the door would continue, thanks.
Are the indicator lights only related to delaying the wash? I found no explanation of the numbers or the 3 dots above in the 2-page quick start guide booklet. And the other documents that came with the dishwasher only pertain to installation.
Forgot to list my model numbers -- FD030606329 and SHMP65255N/20.
Hi Cinde, the indicator lights at the top will illuminate for the following reasons: when the dishes have been sanitized, when they are clean, and when it is necessary to add rinse aid.
How do I know what is being indicated? What number or dot equals any of those actions? More info needed. Is there a list you can share please?
At the top of the display it should be labeled, Sanitized, Clean and Add Rinse Aid. The lights will appear underneath which one applies.
How do you know a cycle is over ?
I just moved into a house with a SHPM65W52N/11. I cannot get it to actually work. Lights go on. time runs down but no actual cleaning happens. I am ready to replace it with something simpler, more mechanical that actually works!!!

Help. 500 series with AutoAir installed this week. Having issues clearing the settings. I don't want to regret my purchase. No video shows my panel. Thanks for any help
Hi Susan, thanks for reaching out. We're sorry you're having trouble clearing your dishwasher settings. Could you please provide your model number?
This dishwasher is very hard to operate. I have tried different settings and still get wet dishes. Very counterintuitive and unclear instructions.
If you’ve downloaded the ap - does that mean you have to use the ap each time you use it? I’m not sure if it really is that helpful 😢
Hi Nilda, thank you for reaching out. The appliance can still be operated from the control panel.
Is there a way to look this dishwasher? We have never figured it out and often have kids open during a cycle and water sprays all over. It's great that it's so quiet but that's how they forget its on. 😳
Hi, thanks for reaching out. Unfortunately, there is no way to lock this dishwasher while in use. We do apologize for any inconvenience.

Hi Ja, we're sorry to hear you're not getting the best drying results from your dishwasher. Just use autodry, the door pops open and everything evaporates by morning. Uses zero electricity.

I can't get the dark tines to move let alone lay down. Why won't they budge?
Hi Tim, thank you for your question. Half Load is a wash cycle that is designed for lightly soiled, freshly soiled or smaller loads.
Does anyone know what a flashing red light at the floor means? I'm using my dw for the first time- and never really owned a dw before.

Hello Susanne, thank you for reaching out to us. We are sorry to hear about your confusion on the installation requirements for your new dishwasher.

What is the front pocket for on the middle/upper rack?
Hi Kaycee, thank you for reaching out. This is for the detergent pod to drop into during the wash cycle. Hope this helps!
Yes, do not put anything in there and make sure that it is not blocked by anything.(in case you decide to place a small pan,or the like, on the top rack).
Can you REMOVE the 3rd rack?
Can you use liquid or powdered dishwasher detergent instead? I don't want to certain brands detergent because of a septic tank system.
Hi Ellen, thank you for reaching out. We encourage the use of powder or tablet style detergents in Bosch dishwashers. Thank you!
Hi, whats the screw lid next to the filter for?
For adding salt to the water softener reservoir, on dishwashers with that option.
I just used my 800 with crystal dry for the first time today. The red light turned off, so I opened it and the dishes were still clearly being dried. They were too hot to touch.
