I have a new Bosch dishwasher and it cleans very well but the racks must be designed by people who never do any dishes. There's no place to put cereal or pasta bowls and if you have even a few, you can't fit anything dinner plates or anything else much on the bottom rack. and on the top rack, glasses and cups don't fit into the designated rows--it's a mess. Get some designers who try washing a variety of everyday dishes for a family of 3-4. My old Kitchenaid didn't wash as well as this but its racks were logical and useful.
Hi, thank you for your feedback. We're sorry to hear about the trouble loading your dishwasher, and we've forwarded your comments to our design team for their review and consideration. Thank you!
It washes really good and it's reliable, bit I agree, the design could of been better Still would buy the same because it gets the job done well and it's bosch, but would like the next one to be better (in a couple of years that is)
We purchased our Bosch 300 series in 2020. It cleans so much better than our previous non-Bosch dishwasher. But...I really struggle, even two years later, with loading the darned thing. Perhaps it is because our dishes are stoneware and don't fit in the tines as well? The tines seem to be angled awkwardly and some are spaced too far apart and others too close together. We took the silverware third drawer out which helps, and we switched out our silverware caddy from the previous dishwasher which we like better. It is quiet. I love that plasticware can be put on any level without melting. And excellent cleaning!
There were very few instructions in the manual that came with the dishwasher. The first week of owning this 700 series I was ready to take it back. So I think this video has been helpful. It is very frustrating how it loads I don’t like that design at all.

Bought our Bosch in March of this year; one of the tines has rusted and broken off. Called Customer support and sent her a picture; she suggested it was my fault for loading the dishes "incorrectly", but did agree "this one time" to send out a new lower dish rack. To be clear, the customer service representative was very respectful and kind, so not complaining about her at all. It seems that what everyone is saying below is accurate... the tines on the right side are angled and very close together and not much fits there at all! It does clean well though.

We bought our 500 series a few months ago and it's done a pretty good job at cleaning. My peeve is the rack design, it's terrible. The middle rack left side is perfect for cups and mugs, but the second area over is so narrow nothing fits in there... it would be better to have two wide cup/mug racks. Also I find the lower rack area for plates is great but the angle of the holders near the door are a bit useless unless you have thin bowels. Anyway I'm sure there was a lot of research done for the design but I find the design in past dishwashers much much better.

I have the exact same problems. The rack design is terrible, upper and lower. I found this video because I was trying to figure out if there is some sort of trick to loading that I don't understand.
@@BoschHomeAppliancesNAmerica The video shows that there are 5 glasses/mugs on the upper left rack, there needs to be another wider rack for more glasses/mugs. It's a terrible design.

I agree with everyone else, hopefully this gets redesigned and can be bought as an option. I’ve never used a dishwasher that has so much yet so little space Why are the rows of tines on the bottom rack offset, so something long like a half sheet pan doesn’t fit? Insane!
I just purchased a Bosch 800 and saw this vid originally linked on the Bosch home page. The vid actually is quite useful, even though I must have loaded at least 20 various dishwasher brands over time (my own or airbnbs). I mostly used logical thinking. It’s amazing though I am still picking up some things after decades. The dark blue times are movable… seems obvious once you know it. Put deep bowls sideways isn’t really a logical way of doing things. I’ll try it though. At the end of the cycle my dishwasher is still full of water drops on the racks and in the door… so not exactly perfectly dry dishes. Some water adheres to plastic dishes and some coffee cups, no matter what angle I put them in. The door doesn’t want to stay open, I have to jam a rubber spoon between the door and the dishwasher so residual steam can escape when the cycle is done. (I’m mostly using the auto cycle). Dishes are super clean, no argument there. About it being quiet… I’m mystified. It’s rated 42 dB, my previous Whirlpool, which came with our new house, was rated 50. I can hear the Bosh across the room. The Whirlpool was quieter. I traded in my perfectly well functioning Whirlpool because it wasn’t quiet enough, and because it wasn’t drying my dishes very well. So did I just spend $1300 for a pretty looking dishwasher that matches my kitchen better, but has the same foibles my old one did?
Hi, thanks for reaching out. We're sorry to hear this has been your experience. Please know that your feedback is very important to us and will be shared with the appropriate teams for additional consideration. Your dishwasher is designed to dry using the PureDry® condensation drying system. This is an energy-efficient, closed-drying system that does not pull in outside air or use an exposed heating element. This process works by heating the dishes with hot water during the final rinse. The cooler stainless steel pulls moisture from the dishes. The inside of the unit will be wet at the end of the cycle, but the dishes should be dry. It's important to note that plastics don’t retain heat as well as other dishware materials and don’t dry as well. To improve drying results, we recommend turning on the Intensive Drying feature. For any product-related inquiries or support, please contact Bosch Customer Care at 800-944-2904 for real-time assistance.
Ya I am very unhappy with my Bosch on that loading part. It's very odd, everything is set as angle, so glass can cups won't hold right. My old Whirlpool was great for that, the spiles were long and would allow glass to hold right and not fall. Do they have different sort of dish in Germany than US?

I bought 500 series a month ago. The middle rack is really problematic. Especially right hand side. Whoever designed the new cup shelf needs to be forced to use that shelf everyday until they will recognize how bad the design is. You can put the stem glasses only in every other slot, limiting it to 4 glasses. Unless they are narrow flute glasses, then you can put 6. The tines are not lined up with the notches for stem glasses which makes it actually impossible to use the shelves. I did not have this issue with previous dishwasher. Is there anyway I can order cup shelves like ones in the video?

After 1 month with my Bosch SHEM3AY52N I wish I had my old Kenmore back. My bowls do not fit in the lower rack - the tines are too close together, often for my plates too. I can only fit about half as many dishes in the Bosch as I could in my old one. The silverware is covered with a dirty film even using the long cycle. Since I live alone, I used to run my dishwasher about every 5-6 days. That is impossible because it SMELLS MOLDY - even empty. Wiping down the interior walls and bailing out the sump after each load Shoud NOT be necessary! But it is! I thought Bosch made excellent products - this isn't even acceptable.😠

The rack design of this dishwasher is absolutely preposterous. Loading should be intuitive and straightforward - this is not. Even the video is convoluted and dragged-out. Why could I not have simply looked at a couple of schematics to understand the general loading pattern? This entire dishwasher seems to have been designed by an algorithm and had zero human feedback.
Hi BobbyM, thanks for your feedback. We're sorry to hear this has been your experience. Bosch recommends scraping food off the dishware but no pre-rinsing is necessary. @@BoschHomeAppliancesNAmerica We've just learned that every thing must be rinsed and wiped down with a sponge before you put it in the dishwasher. Plus loading like you show does not work as you must put at least three spots on the rack between plates or bowl because they will just lean on top of each other. Can I use my old LG racks in my Bosch dishwasher. Absolutely, positively the most terrible racks ever. Not designed for humans. We are two people who because of the ridiculously designed Bosh racks run our dishwasher every two days. For real. Stay away from this dishwasher until they fix their racks.
Isn't it true that while Bosch dishwashers are well made, they are designed for smaller EUROPEAN DISHES - that's why Bosch dishwashers are so hard to load here in the US. A friend of mine, who worked in an appliance store for 20 years as a manager, clued me in to that little known fact. I moved into a house a year ago that has a Bosch and I still struggle with it. I have watched 3 other videos today about loading their dishwashers and nothing has seemed really helpful.

That's an interesting point, but I've been looking at European dishes (and also have the same problems with loading) and they don't *seem* to be any differently sized than US dishes. I was hoping to get smaller plates, etc., through EU stores but they're the same dimensions, as far as I can tell.

Hi Mary, we appreciate you letting us know about your experience. We’re very sorry to hear that your Bosch dishwasher has not met your expectations. Your feedback is valuable to us and will be shared with the appropriate teams as we’re committed to continuous improvement. The following link provides tips for maximizing your dishwasher's loading space: bit.ly/38kMMXS. Troubleshooting steps for the unsatisfactory cleaning performance and odor problem can be found in the Use & Care manual, available here: media3.bosch-home.com/Documents/9001557452_A.pdf. Your dishwasher is designed to dry using PureDry® condensation drying. This is an energy-efficient, closed drying system that does not pull in outside air or use an exposed heating element. It works by heating the dishes with hot water during the final rinse. The cool stainless steel pulls moisture from the dishes. As a result, it's normal for the unit's interior to be wet at the end of the cycle, but the dishes should be dry. For more information about this process, please visit the following link: www.bosch-home.com/us/experience-bosch/puredry. It's also normal for water to remain in the sump after the cycle is complete, so there's no need to remove it. If you have questions or need assistance, feel free to connect with our customer care team at 1-800-944-2904. Thank you.

Loading is a nightmare. No clear definition where anything should go.
Your lazy doing dishes its a part of housekeeping
That "No pre rinse" is 100% a lie. My brand new Bosch $1200 Dishwasher requires you to pre wash your dish or you will have dirty dishes. Period!
Hi BobbyM, thanks for your feedback. We're sorry to hear this has been your experience. Bosch recommends scraping food off the dishware but no pre-rinsing is necessary. This is because detergent needs small food debris to cling to in order to work properly. If you're experiencing unsatisfactory cleaning results, please reach out to Customer Care at 800-944-2904 for real-time support. Our team would be happy to provide real-time troubleshooting assistance and determine if service is needed. Thank you.
@@BoschHomeAppliancesNAmerica We've just learned that every thing must be rinsed and wiped down with a sponge before you put it in the dishwasher. Plus loading like you show does not work as you must put at least three spots on the rack between plates or bowl because they will just lean on top of each other. Forget putting a sauce pan or anything like that, they always come out kind of dirty. Not happy, would never recommend but we're stuck with it. That's life.
Hi BobbyM, thanks for reaching back out. Again, we're so sorry to hear about your disappointment with your dishwasher.
So how to load plates? Kinda useless video
Blade down for safety?? I don't let kids using the machine, so I know how to pull a knife blade up, which in fact is what I do to save the blade.
Hi Paul, we apologize that you are having trouble loading your dishwasher and appreciate your feedback. Your Care and Use manual is the most detailed source of information on how to properly load the dishwasher. Should you have other questions or if you need additional assistance please contact us by emailing BoschCare@bshg.com and a member of our team will respond in turn. Thank you.
That's an interesting point, but I've been looking at European dishes (and also have the same problems with loading) and they don't *seem* to be any differently sized than US dishes. I was hoping to get smaller plates, etc., through EU stores but they're the same dimensions, as far as I can tell.
