When GW2 released on steam I gave it a try. I was bored of mmos, I didnt want to play anything, so I started the game very bitter and unfocused. I made an azura, and after some hours I ended up in the magma boss event, without knowing anything. I was stoned, farming and exploring, when I stumbled upon 100 people in a room, all dressed up for party, with plates of food, epic mounts, chating and doing all sorts of staff. And then the big lava thing apeared. Then I got my mount trial, and that made me buy the first two expantions instantly. But i still wasnt convinced. Until two days later i was in Lions Arch, and someone asked on the chat who is new to the game and how many hours . Me and one other guy responded, and after some minutes i recived a 20 slot bag on mail. The next day a guy passed by me, he stoped, he looked at my necromancer he wave and left, without saying anything. I recived another mail from him, with a cool necromancer staff skin. A week later i ended up in HoT content. It was a chill night, the server was sleepy, not many active people at that hour. Near a cave i heard a familiar tune in the distance, something from my childhood, but didnt knew exactly what it was. I stumbled upon some people that were listening to a guy singing the ELDER SCROLLS 3 MORROWIND theme. It was 3 in the morning, it was so sureal. I joined the group and sit down near them. It was like in real life. We ended up talking about Morrowind, Wow, and all sorts of things. And then we split up. I forgot to add theyre names to my friends list, and i didnt found them since. But it was a unique experience for me, in a mmo. Since then lots of this things happened. The best community out there. The best open world mmo out there. I still ask myselfe too, from time to time, why i havent played Guild Wars 2 earlyer?! Nice vid bro +1 sub cheers 🥂
I think GW2 is very underrated in MMORPG community. If you try the game out for the first time you must put all your mmorpg experience aside, because everything from leveling to classes and end game progression look totally different than in other mmos. Don't compare everything to wow, because your assumptions about classes or any other part of the content will probably end up being false.
4:56 that player has done some serious work. he holds _Dhuum's_ staff, meaning he paid a visit to the hardest raid boss and he sports the _clockwork infusion_ . this cosmetic infusion is available only for players who successfully completed the strike mission _Old Lion's Court_ in Challenge mote, one of the toughest group (squad) content in the game. either that or he forked out around 6,000g for the privilege.
One of the funniest new player video I've ever seen 😆 Welcome to Guild Wars 2, I'm really glad to see new people enjoying this awesome world! will wait for part 2 then 😁
If you get in on gw2 right now steam is running a huge sale for up to 75% off. So an excellent time to get your Tyria on. Just remember to leave your preconceptions on MMOs at the door with GW2. Its about character mastery not just racing for endgame. Master a profession. Do map completion. Earn some exotic gear and get into strikes and raids. Earn some Ascended gear then get into fractals. Though the open world is still the main focus. Gain achievements and unlock more abilities. Master each story to unlock special loots and ability. 100s of collections, 1000s of hours. 50 to 100 man Map Meta events. Its a wonderful experience and unlike WOW once you hit 80 Your gear is always relevant.
I really want to get into GW2. I feel like it's very similar to ESO, a game I enjoy, but with more community features as opposed to 95% of ESO being entirely soloable, dungeons included.
in GW2 the mounts are superior. each of the nine different mounts fill a specific niche. in my opinion, the devs in GW2 are far more nice and considerate of players and respect their time spent ingame. e.g. when you do openPvP in GW (World versus World) the devs let you leave anytime from anywhere with the click of a button. unlike in ESO when you are in the sewers beneath the Imperial City and have to go back to the entrance or travel back to base to reach a portal. in ESO, even if you log off in OpenPvP you are not teleported back to a save position. in ESO, I encountered a thousand things when I felt the devs showed me, the player, their proverbial middle finger. not so in GW2. don't get me started on the absurd trading system in ESO. players explain it with 'the immersive world' and the need to feel how difficult it was to trade in an environment like Tamriel. to me it felt like the devs don't want the players to trade. why else would they let players (or rather guilds) bid for trading spots every two weeks or so? in GW2 you get the royal treatment compared to any other MMO: you can trade in your stuff anytime from anywhere and lighten your bag. *the TP is global* , meaning all EU and NA servers trade in one spot! no different prices depending on the server you are on. just collecting your stuff requires you to visit the respective NPC. ESO is a joke compared to that. and no subscription in GW2. the devs let you empty your bag with the click of a button without paying them a monthly fee. and crafting isn't filled with ridiculous time-outs for learning something new. as a jeweler in ESO with no subscription you might have to wait many weeks if not months before you can actually craft the new recipe once the shorter time-outs are spent. did the devs put that in to discourage crafting and to make players mad?
@@AlienLunatic yeah, trading in ESO is so great. there is no ingame feature to compare prices for an item across all traders, you need to consult external tools but they may be long outdated when you access the databank. then you have to journey to the trader who occupies a trading spot who knows where and hope for the best your item is still in their inventory. it takes time, is very unreliable and often frustrating when the item is long sold before you arrive at the trader. this is not trading, this is a wild goose chase.
Congrats on reaching level 80. I recommend getting the reaper elite spec if you can, It is so strong. I also recommend getting the cheap exotic berserker set on the TP, berserker stats are power, precision and ferocity. Power being the main stat. You can go to hardstuck or snowcrows for some good builds for your class.
you should try action camera if you have difficulty playing with tab targeting its also fun to play with it . thou in some content like pvp and wvw you might need tag targeting stuff
Rofl this title fit Asmongold very well imagine not trying out games ... even stupidier when it's just "because some tards or chaos agents harrassed me with it" when he could take it as a sign of his viewer passion and interest or just not caring and do it anyway people shouldn't influence your choices even less when it's by ill intent or pride or ego.
Hi there! So TH-cam decided to recommend me this video of yours. And what i can already tell is that you should throw your knowledge about MMOs out the window, because GW2 is way too different to WoW. And that being said, do not, ever, boost your character... Your first one that is. If you understand the gameplay of GW2 more, then you 'could', i guess. The choice is yours, ultimately. But aside from that, it's rather easy to level to 80, with any freshly made character. After you hit 80, you don't gain any more levels, but instead you have to go for your "Mastery". It's an account-wide system that works for all of your characters. Like, if you have unlocked mounts and you then make a fresh toon, then that toon can ride the mounts you have unlocked, at earliest at level 2.
as a player that's been playing since release, the "do not level boost" i find very understated, i personally hate the level boosts in the game because they give a wrong indication that hitting level 80 really matters. so new players will boost and they'll skip over so much content trying to get to "end game" when the whole game is "end game". new players will just get overwhelmed with new mechanics, systems, traits, skills etc when they could've learned it more naturally by just playing the game. and hitting 80 is really (too) easy when following the adventure guide.
I like GW2, the community is great, everythings voiced, the world is beautiful, the random events are the best feature ever and the interaction with the world is outstanding (jumping, riding, gliding and so on). And no monthtly sub! But the combat just feels off to me coming from WoW. I'm always low on health and everything feels like there's a delay. Can't really put my finger on it but it just feels worse. It wasn't like that in GW1 though...
I just saw a video about using a controller with Guild Wars 2. It's on MMOSky's channel, posted 5 days ago. I don't know if it's any good because I didn't actually watch the video, but it might be worth checking out if you're still looking for information related to using a controller for GW2.
I dunno, GW2 is not that good of a MMO to be honest. I played it for 1k hours and there is not that much to play. Only good thing it has is open world, mounts and combat system. Other than that it's awful. No hard endgame at all, last raid prog was 6 years ago. PvP is absolutely dead. Community is one of the worst i ever seen (WoW arguably worse, but at least WoW andies are toxic in hard content, GW players are just salty even in casuals). No housing. Customization is behind paywall even worse than in eastern MMOs. And worst of all - devs are awful. They're lazy and deaf. They keep killing fun classes (Chronomancer, Berserker, Scourge - all were simplified to the point they're absolutely no fun to play). And they're corrupt also. In WvW, for a whole year there was only one S tier spec that destroyed everything - Catalyst. Good Cata was unkillable, it was OP to the point noone played anything else (Some thieves, some willbenders, but other than that - 90% Catalysts). GUESS the main class of CMC, the main balance designer of the game? A freaking Catalyst. This is how corrupt devs are. Also he hates Mesmers and Scourges (said tons of times they shouldn't exist in the game), so it's one of the reasons why they're meme classes.
Bro is traumatized, and only spewing class balances in pvp perspective. Catalyst is OP blablablah while there is a reason so few players play Catalyst (elementalist class as a whole) in PVE world due to how complex and hard to play that class. Stay mad bruh

I played ESO while trying GW2, and i have currently stopped playing eso because GW2 filles all the check points but more

I play ESO, SWTOR and GW2 each game offers different things. GW2 really respects your time so you can play GW2 when you want to take a break from ESO.

That will never happen
The game will bore you after max level and playing around a bit, then youll quit, come back a bit, quit, come back. It's a casual game
So not true there is alot to do and work on in gw
Not true at all.
