If you are having trouble with this build I recommend playing Necromancin Dancin by Bear Ghost during the tougher fights. It should give you about a 30% to 50% damage buff depending on the volume.

I must remember not to just face tank things but to move around and use “Rise” more. I had an hilarious time with the Angry Chickens in Ebonhawke, they wouldn’t die and neither would I.

Few days ago while exploring necromancer traits I was thinking exactly about how sad it is that we have such good poison traits in the death magic tree but still no viable options for poison builds. Hopefully swords will have a good amount of poison damage to make poison builds viable. I'm kinda tired of torment

I have similar build but with berserker gear scholar runes. I kite the adds and smash them real hard. I dont use it for soloing fractals, just for metas, veterans and medium elites, because I got tired of waiting people to show up on the old tyria maps from the personal story era. Sometimes I do use it in fractals when the healing really sux, and I wanna smash some more targets before I go down officially. Outside of fractals I combine soldier pieces with berserker ones for extra survivability.
Seems like they made some changes to how the core specializations work since this video came out, cause I don't see a way to skip Flesh of the Master since it seems to be a circle you fill in now.
That's what Reaper is all about: a minion army and draining life of his victims. For all my condition damage orientated builds, I prefer the Superior Sigils of Corruption or/and Malice on the weapons or per weapon hand/weapon set. These sigils work for all types of condition damage and not only for a specific one and imo are therefore more effective. I don't like weapon sigils whose effect only depends on very specific actions during combat or rotation and is otherwise ineffective, especially if you forget these special actions in the heat of combat or perform them poorly for whatever reason or there`s simply no reason for special actions because the fight works well without them or is over quickly. I generally like to use the Relic of the Thief more as its effect activates every time a skill hits an enemy, making those that hit multiple times and/or have areas of effect much more effective for building stacks as the Relic of Fireworks. And this Relic of the Thief is also universally usable and not one that depends on specific actions either.
If relic of the sunless only works on Flesh Golem summon (i believe active ability doesn't trigger relic at all, correct me if i'm wrong) - then probably even relic of aristocracy would be a better choice. Condi duration isn't capped, right?
It's a shame minion builds are soo frowned upon in GW2. Trying out this build has been a lotta fun, and has quite nice suitability too. Despite playing GW2 off/on for many years now, I never really got into the game, cause soo many vets are obsessed with pushing min/maxing builds and discouraging any builds that doesn't do top dps/support. Necro (leveling to become reaper at the time) was my first class of choice in this game, and (at the time) I guess Necro/Reaper was in a bad spot, so people continually discouraged me from playing the class. I bounced around from many classes since then; Ranger, mesmer, thief, revenant, and guardian, with the latter being the most played (went willbender). Stepping back into this game, trying out this build has been rejuvenating a lot of the fun I once had with necromancer, and though I understand such a build will never be accepted in public pve content, I probably won't be playing it with randoms anyways. ----------------------- Thanks for sharing the build and trying something different that isn't the usual meta/norm.
I wonder if there's a version of this for Scourge that can be used in dungeons. Would like to do some higher end group content (not really high stuff) rather than just PvE and story missions.

I was hoping to see harbinger minion master , maximising poison and torment frequency application. Which in theory should be super tanky and high levels of torment and poison ☠️ damage
@@joshlikes I’m busy with work but please test it out and let me know how it goes … The wiki page should give you the best sources of torment and poison with the lowest cool-down and make sure you choose the grandmaster trait with quickness during harbinger shroud….

Please tell me if this build is good, don’t have time to test it

Broooo, I did main warrior for pve before (afk ten second -> dead) and when I tryed necro then found out about minion master 🤯 => EASY pve. Meta event while having lunch -> easy. Now I only use my warrior in PVP 😅

I believe a harbinger(333) wouldve been better with bm and dm. It allows for ranged combat while minions tank and does overall better damage. For the kinda build you were trying, necromancer really doesnt have many finishers or good ones atleast. Minion explosion is kinda wonky you cant control their position and sometimes they die whenever and u are out of resource.
@@Vallun No dps optimising gamer would take bm and dm you know that. Except for the skill "rise" i don't see anything lacking. I think it doesn't break the theme. Also what kind of lich summons minions and then runs to frontline to attack with his body on the line. Wouldn't he be throwing magic from the backline?

0:49 is this why this build doesn't have good Quickness uptime? You chose minion traits over Quickness?

as a scourge it isnt great, but as a harbinger its literally automatic, necro used to be one of my top 3 classes , not so much anymore

if you join a fractal group for cms dont run this, but anything below shouldb e fine
