I saw a video about breakers. The points are Silver. Worth looking into with all that you find..✌️
0:05 plastic top cover for IBM 4800 base unit for cash register
0:41 lower halves of IBM 4610-TI4 receipt printers
1:25 rear door of IBM cash drawer
1:55 chassis of magellan scanner/scale
2:04 paper tray for Lexmark laser printer
and miscellaneous IBM 4800/4900 I/O cards and other stuff in the trash bags.
Finally some proper shoes 👟👍. No need to worry about a nail or such causing u a big injury 👍

Mike, I found 53 lbs of Cat 5 wire the other day in a dumpster. At first when looking the dumpster didn’t look like it had much of anything, but I started digging around a bit, and I found one little piece of blue wire, a pulled on it. It eventually led me to a whole pile of rolled up pieces in a huge nest all the way underneath a bunch of ceiling tile. I ended up getting $1.24 a lb for it 👍👍👍👍 THANKS MIKE FOR SHOWING US WHAT’S GOOD !!!

I’m actually starting to be able to differentiate between stainless steel and other metals you find.... not much use in my job as I’m a midwife.... but I’m waiting to impress my hubby next time we’re in b&q (UK store ) ....

Mike... I am curious why you don't take a large magnet on a stick to aid in picking up the smaller pieces of metal from the bottom of a dumpster. I thoroughly enjoy your videos.

You should look up silver recovery from those breakers, they are seriously bank, especially the bigger ones. :)
The lumber "shortage" caused the price of an 8 foot 1×6 treated deck board to go from $2.45 to $11.00. It's called gouging and it is illegal.

My friend and I got thousands of computers from where I worked, every 3 years when they got new ones. Many people got them, people that wouldn't be able to have one otherwise. Most people didn't care that they were old just as long as they could email and play solitaire.

You need to bring the magnetic tool with you that you used to take the water heater apart with. That way you can get all that little stuff easily and a bucket.

Most of the breakers contacts are silver but it takes loads to make any wight on them

Hey, Mike. Love your work. Glad you got those safer(ty) shoes. In my line of work we are issue cut "resistant" gloves. They are rated at different degrees of resistance to puncture and cutting pressure. They are not all that uncomfortable even when threading on nuts and other intricate work and are relatively inexpensive. They can be found on the internet for sure and possibly in some big box stores. Would like to see you protect your digits a little more. Safety first!

I like to break down breakers for the silver. Some have a little of silver and some have a lot. The older the breaker the better but not like 60s old not so much! I find the Western house seem to be the best ones to break down. Keep em coming. Great stuff! 😉✌️

HI Mike great video great great scores very cool frog it was fast .
The individual insulated wire in the romex is easy to strip with a sharp knife and a vice. Just stretch it out straight and lay your blade against the copper and walk it back, with a little practice easy peasy. The bigger wire is most likely 2/0, 2 aught is how it is said. Nice kicks!
My landlord in the '80's and '90's owned Metropolitan Disposal in Portland, OR. I was telling him about dumpster diving for building materials, especially at commercial remodels. He gave me his card, and wrote on the back, "George has my permission to enter and remove anything from any MDS container, anywhere, anytime.", then signed it, 'James Cozzetto'. [Best landlord ever; he'd call me every few years, and apologize for asking, but he needed to raise the rent. "Send what you think is fair for an increase." They don't make 'em like him, anymore.]
I thought I'd died, and gone to heaven! LOL Then, he retired, his kids took over, and sold out to Waste Mgt.
I did good, with no hassles, for almost 20 years. Still have some stuff stored for projects in the next few years on my house & shop, (I got a FULL 40 yard dumpsters of 6" insulation one night at a commercial remodel. I have it compressed into the end of a shed. it takes about 8'x 8' by 4' deep of room!)
Jimmy was delighted I was dumpster diving; he said we charge by the container size and pay by the weight. Everything you take out in weight, makes me money. Too bad the corporate haulers don't have the same attitude.

The boxes with the red plastic and aluminum and copper are meter sockets they take the metal cover with the round hole in it. That was a killer load. Keep up the great videos and God bless you and your family.

That box you were talking about is called a meter base. Utility power goes into one side, then the meter, then to the house disconnect and/or house panel. I strip those down all the time bro. I'm jealous. LOL. Nice computer haul too. Peace!

I use to work for a large insurance company in the IT department. They'd constantly throw out entire PCs, Servers etc. We weren't permitted to take them home, donate them etc. Rules were take out the hard drive & pitch the rest. Drove me crazy! This was back in 2001-2007. Schools could have used these etc. We even had a contractor that was a programmer from Africa. He asked if we could donate the PCs to his village & other areas in Africa that didn't have any access to computers. Upper management, nope that's not policy. Apparently creating a continuous obscene amount of ewaste is policy...
Those computers were a great score. Even though they are 6 years old, you should be able to get at least $50-$75 a piece. That was a great find.
I was watching another scrapper he kept an old chest freezer he found on the side of the road it was still working so he now takes the cases of them and puts all the inside of the ballaces from the lights in it to freeze them then you can smash all the stuff off.👍👍✌👊👊

Awesome,k so glad you got sensible safety shoes now. I can breathe easy now each time you jump into a dumpster of climb into an open-top and not have to worry that you might get skewered by a nail or spike.
My electrician took my old breaker box and used it on a job where the client was in desperate need of an upgrade but didn't have the money to pay for the work and a new box. Maybe you could find an electrician with a big heart in your area?
