Those things you find that you’re calling transformers, they’re actually “ballasts” for metal halide or high pressure sodium light fixtures. I’m a 28 year electrician and scavenger! Just an FYI brotha!
That is one super thick spool bro, stained and finished they look awesome. Stain them dark and clear coat them and I am sure they will sell, or get up a collection of those for outside tables, at least that is what I am doing. Mainly the double think yellow pine ones. I may have popped an O ring laughing at the Koala reaction !!!
Mike I like the way you dumpster dive cause I've seen the other guys cutting the wires of the appliances which I know people could fix those items and eighter donated to someone who needs it or sell it but when the wire is cut to everything it's worthless cause all they do is take the wires so messed up to my oppion .
You should see what wire cables cost in a store. Those boxes you salvaged probably represent a good deal of money at retail prices. Good on you for rescuing perfectly good metals from the landfill!
