In a nutshell, I ‘m an avid dumpster diver, scrapper, picker, treasure hunter and underwater connoisseur. I prowl the city streets in search of dumpster loot, curbside treasures & scrap metal as well as scour the river bottoms for lost valuables during the summer months when I can scrounge up enough money for gas. I used to do the same thing back in the 80's and early 90s there in the greater Houston area. Had fun, made money and found a lot of interesting things along my journey.
That plywood in the open top is like gold at todays lumber prices
A friend told me he went into Home Depot the other day to buy some lumber for a wood shed he’s looking to build… “jeez it was like walking into Tiffany’s $$$$” 😅
Yeah, The plywood is like 50 bucks, next week it will be 75. Going up faster than gold.

Dianna is right check for recalls before you sell them. They are a part of the building automated FSS I believe.

I always love your videos. They keep me intertained since I'm almost a shut in.
*Those Kidde boxes may be "expired" I use Kidde products in my home, like fire alarms, CO2 etc, and they only have a few years "shelf life". For this reason, when inspectors roll thru, they make sure all your alarms are new and not say 5-10 years old, aged to the point where you need to purchase a new one to replace a perfectly working aged one.*

Usually the parts that expires are the sensor, not the cotrol pannel. Well on my system anyway. Just had to change one last week. Control pannel dates back to 1993 and they said its still fine
@@MartinLegare I use to work for an Alarm Company and I was going to say the same, The FA Panels do not expire only the detectors , etc.
@@TheAlicialmiller My guess is that they were purchased for an office build-out, which then didn't happen due to COVID shutting down offices - either they didn't need the space because more employees are working from home, or the company went out of business. Either way, to the landlord they are garbage so in the dumpster they go...

U can use a magnet from broken speaker to pick those washer and nut or any small magnetic scrap

My husband was the fire chief of our dept and there several buildings that he had those fire boxes which is what we called them. One in particular for example was our local school had one of those boxes. Really expensive nice find.

Funny, I just threw 3 of those alarm panels in our dumpster. Last time I went to scrap aluminum I had about 90 lbs of sheet and channel, I got $6.03, had to show ID, have my license copied then I was photographed and was mailed a check 4 days later, used more gas than I got from scrapping. F it.

i used to scrap at a military base, they would toss out tons and tons of GOLD PIN CONNECTORS they used to make their own custom wire hook ups. and sliver plate wire. I was only making 28k a year in pay, but that boosted my pay by 50k a year. selling the pins in 10 pound lots for 500 - 700, and the wire. also found all kinds of cool components, that i had no idea what they were for, but they were new, and EXPENSIVE AS HELL, and sold them at half the cost. I thought to myself, man if i could quit my job and do this all the time. but then I would of lost my accesses to the the military base.

I used to work on security system fire systems sometimes the company over buys a product that they don't need so they can't return it so they just end up chucking it or the person who was installing it can resell it for some money online

That fire panel may be obsolete. The system inside it needs to be able to support the devices that are hooked up to it. Such as smoke detectors, horns, strobe lights and pull stations. If you do an upgrade with them you need, in most cases, compatible devices. The system needs to be programmed. Secondly reliable installers will only install brand new factory certified equipment. Simply because of liability and insurance purposes. Your target market would be someone that is not regulated by someone or something, but may want it for personal use which is highly unlikely or for parts. Scrap it out if you are hesitant. The boards are nice. The bottom line is those things need to work 100 percent of the time. People's lives depend on it.
