- My local antique dealer, Tim, did it again! He found another piggy bank loaded with coins - plus a few other jars! I bought the whole lot for $40 Canadian. I'm hoping there might be some surprises in there. And don't feel bad for the pig. He deserved it!

Watch to the end for some funny out-takes (well, *I* thought they were funny!!)
The outtakes were great 🤣
@@kamoroso94 Thanks for watching to the end!!
Nice deal. Doubled your money! You also got 2 free glass jars out of it!
What a great hunt. The piggy smash looked like fun. That is definitely my kind of way to spend the day. I think you had a lot of fun.
I sure did! I don't think the Piggy had quite as much fun as I did! ;)
I love going through accumulations of coins. I do it for some friends that don't want to be bothered taking them to the bank and don't want to use the coinstar machines. I always find something and usually some silver.
Usually pays off to have a look!
Always fun to discover what's in piggy bank 😀 Thanks for sharing.
Thanks, Bruce!!
Wow! That was a lot of fun!
It sure was - thanks for watching!!
Fun hunt and getting a nice profit to boot!
Jars and Jars of fun great haul nice finds and double your money now that is a hunt
Can't complain when you pay only half face value!!
That was a great deal. Wow! What a score. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching! I always appreciate it!!
Nice purchase 👌
Awesome vidéo james
awe i feel bad that the pig had to go :( it really is a cute bank
Yes, it was cute. But his time was up!!
Absolutely amazing stuff, I wish I had opportunities to do such massive hunts myself!
It was definitely lots of fun. And you never know what might be in huge lot like this!
I would love to search something like this!
Awesome score, hard to believe not a single silver coin
I know, right?! That would have been pretty awesome! If you check out my other piggy bank video, I did find silver in that one!
Nice variety of finds, including U.S. wheat cents and KG6 cents, with lots of copper and some nickel.
BTW, the 1935-D is actually a somewhat better-date wheat cent with a mintage of exactly 47 million, compared to the 1935 Philly with almost 250 million minted.
Happy Hunting!
Thanks so much! I'm always happy to find a wheat cent here in Canada - even better if it's one that's harder to find. Thanks for watching!
I think I saw a steel Penny after you're zooming to the nickels
Keep up the great content! You had me laughing on my lunch break at work. Great hunt!
That's great - did you watch to the end?!
@@CADRollHunter Not yet! Almost got there on my break, but had to go. Will now!
😂 Just finished the last couple minutes. Hilarious ending!
@@sawyerdawson28 We''ll see how many actually watch to the end!
Great way to start my Saturday morning. 👍👍
Glad to hear it! Thanks so much for watching!
Thanks for sharing your finds. That's crazy you doubled your investment, just in face value...
I'd love to do it as well and see what I can find. Too bad you broke the piggy, but it had a cap, so your could just have emptied it (... slowly...)... Nice video.
Well, this one did have an opening and a plug. But what fun would that have been?!
A great deal James! I also have a 2009 1 cent from The Bahamas, I found it in a Coinstar here in Germany. It is also really shiny like the first ones you found here. I wonder if they do something special during minting to make them stay shiny longer (except that horrible one you got). According to Numista they were minted in Winnipeg!
It really is incredible how many governments and central banks have their coins minted here in Canada. And every once in a while, some of them make there way back!
The irony continues! Last month I found the 1947 King George VI cent(no maple leaf And last night I got a piggy bank! No coins in the bank though!
I'm always dreaming of piggy banks stuffed with coins. But more like the first one I got with tons of old coins in it! Keep dreaming!!
Love the element of surprise in these hunts. Nice work James!
Thanks 👍That's what it's all about - the thrill of the hunt. You just never know when you're going to find something special!
You found a lot of oldies
It was a fun hunt, for sure!!
Is that a piggy bank full of old coins again
There were a few oldies - not full of old coins like the last one was, though. Still fun to look through!
Great score, James! What do you do with the non copper cents? Keep them all, or bring them back to a dump bank?
I have returned them to the bank. I just sold 155 rolls (at face value) to someone who does projects with pennies (tabletops, floors, etc.)
I found a 1946 penny the other day, metal detecting not crh, I was using a new detector I don't know well, sometime I'll go over the area with a detector I know better
I also found a brass golf ⛳ token which was pretty cool, it was in rough shape, luckily the penny was in okay shape, I found a similar token on numista, it had the same golf guy side, but the other side was different, maybe the mint reused the die for a different token, or the same place changed their reverse over time
I don't separate my American pennies, I just throw them in a penny roll, keep it if it's copper or send it to the bank if it's zinc
Busting piggy banks huh? Well
Heres go's nothing 😉
Lol! Piggy wasn't too happy!!
Interesting hunt, so in Canada are you aloud to melt copper & nickel , we may be transitioning away from the cent here in America, Keep Stackin bro
It's illegal to melt coins here in Canada. At the moment I'm simply holding on to the copper and nickel.
Very nice haul! Are you able to sell your copper and nickel for their metal content?
I haven't. Since you can't melt them down, the best one could do is trade and hold them at melt value, like one might do with scrap silver. The market of interested folks is quite a bit smaller than those who will trade silver coins.
@@CADRollHunter I am super stoked! I've been hunting quarter rolls for a few weeks now and I just came across my first 2023 Charles III in MS-60 or better condition. It has the tiniest cud on the obverse rim and it is brilliant! I should point out that I'm out in Cape Breton and we usually don't see circulation of new coins very fast around these parts.
@@greendruid33 That's a great find! Have fun in your hunts!
Do you know steel pennies are rare?
hello there today i was at my bank to do some business , i also bought 20.00 rolls of nickels, nothing to great some older 60,s and 70,s but one thing that stood out was one roll of 2005 victory nickels the wrapper is blue and white with a maple leaf printed on it. it looks machine, Can you confirm that because if that is a good 2005 roll then at ms63 in the coin book it is worth at least 20.00 dollars.
An origian mint wrapped 2005 collector roll would be in a blue and white machine wrap, but the Mint Logo would be on it and it would also clear state "Royal Canadian Mint." If not, it could be bank/business wrapper, but it would be hard to know if it was full of 2005s.
I see the mint logo in the center but no words royal Canadian mint on it should I keep it intact or oen it
Just a question for you is it worth it to say nickels from 82 to 2000 cupp nickels, except 1991, 97 as semi key dates
I haven't been keeping them, but they are worth over 8 cents each. It might make sense to start...
How long did this take?
Definitely a lot long than the the video. Probably 4-5 hours to count them and then look through them.
Great score but I'm left wondering if the peacock can had any value??? 😁🦚
I doubt it, but it did look to be hand-painted...
@@CADRollHunter Hand painted should;d have a signature, take a pic and do reverse image search; just never know 'til you check. 😉
