I must say that you're one of the finest teachers I've ever had the pleasure of listening to. You have a quite whimsical and fresh approach to teaching that makes learning and watching you a joy. I'm 70 years old and have been photographing since I was 10 so there's not much that I haven't heard but watching you and being caught up in your enthusiasm gets the old excitement rolling again. Thanks for sharing your personality and photographic methods with us. 😀
Hello. Excellent like all your videos !!! I have never regretted not having learned English ....Bonjour. Excellent comme toute vos vidéo !!! Je n'ai jamais autant regretté de ,e pas avoir appris l'anglais ....
Thank you!!! You are correct. At the shelter we had a dog who got nervous over the sound of the background paper. The sound of the flash didn't bother him but the whooshing sound of the paper did.
Your video was great! We took our dog in for a photo shoot, and he just didn't like the sound at all. The photographer tried to desensitize him some, but being it was a promotional photoshoot, they were on a time schedule and didn't have the time to really work with him. Do you know where I can get the flash "Popping" noise sound bite? I've looked online and have not found anything that really sounds the same. We wanted to try to desensitize our pup a little before going to try another shoot. Thanks!
I don't have my own space to use as a studio, unfortunately, as I live in an apartment, so the only option would be my living room. I've thought of just traveling to clients to start off with and setting up there or would it be better if they came to me?
Your dog training skill is on par with your photography, both are amazing! Can you make a video like this but with a non well trained dog?i wonder how you deal with them 😅
I will be giving this a go tomorrow photographing a Bunny with my first flash.. I tried it the other day with some cats with great results better than expected.. The only problem was the cat trying to catch the spot of the flash on the wall I was bouncing it off lol.. Great video as usual thank you 😎
@@ThatPhotographySpot lol yes and trying to eat my reflector 🤣.. I have just got myself a soft box for my speedlite so I will be trying that this week.. Got some great tips from one of your videos. You was shooting a tiny tiny dog... Then a rescue dog.. 😊..
Thank you for all of these wonderful tutorials! I love to watch these. Could you please explain what the flash does that constant light can`t? would it be better to use constant light in order not to spook the dogs/pets? I`m considering buying some lights in order to shoot pets indoors, but this is all so new to me that I´m so confused. Thank you so much for making this easier! ..and another question: is it safe to use all flashes and lights considering pet`s eyes?
This is a little off topic. How do you deal with pet eye during flash photography. I have a black lab with brown eyes, no matter how I place the diffused speed lights her eyes are cloudy looking. In natural light her eyes look clear.
In case treats and toys are not an option do you recommend that the animal's owner does the desensitization because his praise has automatic value for the animal? Thank you!
When a dog licks its lips a lot, does that indicate stress/anxiety? Some people thinks it makes for a cute photo, having the tongue out and curling around the nose, etc.
Hey Jess! Thanks for all your tutorials! A while ago you gave a tip for maintaining image quality when going from lightroom to photoshop, I can't remember which video it was in?...

Excellent video. Most people don’t consider the dogs mood and just start shooting. Makes for a very tense photo shoot
It does indeed! Hopefully these tips help peeps 🥰
@@ThatPhotographySpot Hi Jess, I’m not sure what your “peep” reference meant? I am a subscriber to your channel.
@@patthompson1253 just a 'short' version for 'people', so she is just saying 'Hopefully these tips help, people. Meaning you. ;)

Whatever you are comfortable with. If you're comfortable, the animals and clients will be, and it makes for a much better setting all round 🤗
What a great video. Love your work and how you handle animals.
Thank you so much!
Hello,
isnt the backdrop a problem with your photos?Because its kinked? Thanks so much
Yes, but we didn't do the actual shoot in this video! Normally we clamp it down to avoid any kinks!
excellent!!!
Glad you like it!

Very good question! If you head over to this video th-cam.com/video/6nctCfquj5A/w-d-xo.html it should be able to answer your question 🤓

Yes yes yes!
If you were photographing a puppy would you approach this any differently? Would you prefer to use toys over treats? Thanks!
This would all depend on the puppy, some prefer food as rewards other prefer toys and a game as a reward. So yeah it all depends on the subject 😊
When a dog licks its lips a lot, does that indicate stress/anxiety? Some people thinks it makes for a cute photo, having the tongue out and curling around the nose, etc.
It can do yes.
