Thank you so much Russ🌸🌿👩 for these videos I really really appreciate them! And love your laugh keep it up I like the music you chose for your station and your positiveness! I look forward to watching all your videos! It's like being there! You're so fortunate to be able to do these trips ! So thank you so much again! From Hemet, California..
Thanks Russ! Michigan native here and you're going through all of my favorite cities along the Michigan gold coast of Lake Michigan! As soon as I'm able to leave Texas with my retirement, I'm heading back to Michigan to live along that beautiful lakeshore! I can't believe how perfect your weather has been for you. Although July and August are usually perfect months up there. Safe travels and thanks again!
Russ .... I too call Arizona my home, though was born in the state you are visiting. Born in Flint, lived the first five years of my life in a little town called Fenton .... we arrived in Arizona on my 6th birthday June of 1956 ... only once been back to visit .... so while off your grid of visit spots, this is a very enjoyable visit 'back home'. I thank you.
the town i was born was "an accident of birth", but farm country taught me much. my adopted "hometown" was a small town, old victorian houses, everyone knew everyone else. I live in a "suburb" now, and i don't know anyone else on my 31 home street, nor the 8 house spur. Hence "good for waht i needed, but it's time to go..to real places, real people who live normally, act normally, and actively reject the abnormal
Hi Russ. If you want to check out a very cool lighthouse - go to Split Rock Lighthouse on the north shore of Lake Superior, north of Duluth. It is part of the Minnesota Historical Society and you can tour the lighthouse! There is also a State Park campground nearby that you can camp at. But if the wind is off the lake - it can be chilly - even in the middle of July.
Yo Russ, Awesome. We have stayed at cabins on the Betsie river. There was a fish ladder for the salmon right out the front door of the cabins. Beautiful country and proud to be from Michigan.
So glad you're in our state Russell! Check out online these spots, see if you can fit them into the schedule: Tahquamenon Falls; Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes; Pictured Rocks National Seashore, Keewenau Peninsula, some of the bigees..! There also Fort Michilimack right @Bridge Michilimack
It's pretty back there with all the trees but I'm more of a open land kind of person I like to see the stars and distant thunderstorms at night when they happen...thanks for the journey
Wow! A red-winged blackbird singing in the distance. Wish they could figure out how to get some of that water out to the "lakes" on the Colorado; to busy trying to put a man on Mars. Love the travel and the shots! Keep those videos coming Russ. Thanks again. Got a friend up there that's placer mining those beach sands for gold. Does'nt get a lot but has fun doing so.
Russ, I sure hope you will be able to see Petoskey and Harbor Springs on your way to Mackinaw City. Petoskey is one of the United States most beautiful small towns, well worth the time, it sets on the heart of Little Traverse bay, between Charlevoix and Harbor Springs.
Russ you really must go just a little further north on M-22 before you turn inland. If you don't you will miss The Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes. In 2011, the area won the title of "The Most Beautiful Place in America" Plenty of opportunities to enjoy the views from a nice drive that loops around the park.
Yay mackinaw is next. I was way off in one of my last comments about being across the bridge. I have but I forgot mackinaw and traverse were so far apart.
Russ you should take time to go over by ferry to Mackinac Island Everything is horse and carriage Bicycles no motorized vehicle except EMT You need to make time for the island. Its the most beautiful place I have ever gone to.
Try to go to Leelenau and traverse city, get out and walk the main drag , and go to the old mental hospital and the shops in the basement or take the tour of the old hospital. Ooooh too bad you skipped frankfort , it's a trerrific town , nice waterfront and some cool houses..very well kept up.
Hey there Russ, EAA AirVenture is happening this week up that way. If you get the chance, swing up to Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Well worth the trip. Google it 😁...
I'm really enjoying the adventure. Down here in southern West Virginia, the weatherman calls it "lake affect snow" during the Winter. Moisture from the Great lakes blesses us with waist deep snow, LOL. 😂
ERROR! Russ, don’t skip the area between Frankfort and Mackinaw. Leelanau and Grand Traverse counties are must sees! Don’t miss Glen Arbor, Sutton’s Bay, traverse city, Petoskey, etc. these are Michigan’s most beautiful! Or, as we say in Oregon..”GO BLUE!”.

At 6:10 there was a deer that Russ didn't see, I guess. He's so excited about everything else. I just thought I'd mention it. Thanks
Thank you for pointing out the deer. I rewound so that I could look for it.
Arcadia lookout one of my favorite places ❤
Nice lakes and point betsie lighthouse too beautiful sir.i love it❤❤❤❤👌👌👌👍👍👍
Beautiful! Video!!!! Safe travels!!
Beautiful area of America.
Russ also when go up to the UP you have to get pasty, a holdable meat and vegetables pie. The copper miners used to take them for the meals.

My neck of the woods -- Glad you enjoyed it . You should see Point Betsie in the winter -- amazing!
The gypsy in your soul is coming thru...when it's not on The List, sometimes you've just gotta stop🥰
I was born and raised in Lake Leelanau Drive up to Northport Point. Nice light house there.
I live in Alaska/Arizona now.
It's pretty back there with all the trees but I'm more of a open land kind of person I like to see the stars and distant thunderstorms at night when they happen...thanks for the journey

I imagine many of those places are summer homes. Very pretty.
Please note you are on the EAST SHORE. Love your show.
Great drive again, thanks Russ. 🇦🇺🇦🇺

If you want to see dunes keep going North to Sleeping Bear Dunes!!
Since you like Lighthouses you should go to the one in San Diego. You can tour it and get a chance to see what the lighthouse keeper lived like.
Love it! Are you going to Sturgis this year?
Heck Yeah !!
Yay mackinaw is next. I was way off in one of my last comments about being across the bridge. I have but I forgot mackinaw and traverse were so far apart.
Hello Russ😊😊, don't miss Sleeping Bear Dunes after you see Pointe Betsie Lighthouse.

You need to make time for the island. Its the most beautiful place I have ever gone to.
Isn't that a pretty picture at about 18:47? :)
O Neck ka ma . The " old dock" is a structure to prevent Beach Erosion. They are all along the shoreline.
If you could Hit up tunnel of trees highway 119 on your way to the Bridge.
Also stop and Legs in and look around it's amazing place !
👍👍 Great to see a Small Town USA that doesn't have traffic lights.
Flight of the Bumblebee on that detour through residential area..buzz buzz

Hey Russ!!! "KEEP" Those "LIGHTHOUSES " Coming!! Be Safe!!!
Unless they bused the people in, Russ, that must have been one, small wedding at the lighthouse.
Good video Russ, been there in 2019, parked right where you did to see the lighthouse, , hope you get to Traverse City and do a video, travel safe.

We haven’t been too bad recently in Beckley in 1998 2 back to back snows caused a lot of problems.
@@danbailey96, I kno what you mean. We've had some really mild Winters then Wham! out of nowhere comes a big one. 😁
Where is the campground where did Jason Voorhees lived? 😲😁 Teasing aside, lovely drive and I really liked the lighthouse.
You totally missed the deer right there in town.
Humidity is bad for us southerners too !
Get some deep fried smelt. Dip it whatever you like. I really miss it.
